Interestingly, it is also the closest living relative to the extinct flightless dodo bird, which vanished in the mid-17th century. The breed gained widespread recognition thanks to a beauty contest held in 2008, where the shami was named "The Most Beautiful Goat," further boosting its popularity and respect among farmers.

Psalmopoeus victori, a tree-dwelling tarantula, was discovered in the humid forests of Veracruz, Mexico. This species was first described in 2014 and named after Mexican herpetologist Victor H. Jiménez Arcosa, who first spotted and collected a specimen of this spider.

The Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) is one of the three orangutan species, found exclusively on the island of Borneo.
The name comes from the Malay words "orang" (person) and "hutan" (forest), literally meaning "forest person."
