The Bohemian waxwing is a stunning bird with a prominent crest, gray-pink body, and bright red and yellow markings on its wings and tail. It's no wonder it's called the Bohemian waxwing in the West.

This beautiful bird is a true ornament of the midlands and northern regions. Large flocks, covering mountain ash trees, are not uncommon even in major cities.

These birds are very gluttonous. They consume huge amounts of berries and fruits, often completely stripping the forest of rowan, viburnum, hawthorn, buckthorn, barberry, rose hips, and juniper.

The waxwings' gluttony is so great that not all the food is digested, and as it returns to the soil, it provides viable growth. Such is the cycle of nature.

Meet the Babirusa, a unique and fascinating pig found on the Indonesian islands. Translating to "Deer Pig" from Malay, this creature has a surprising feature - aside from the usual pair of lower tusks, males also grow an upper pair.

But here's the twist - these upper tusks grow upwards, piercing through the skin and curving backwards, sometimes even digging into their forehead.

Despite this impressive hardware, the boars don't use their tusks for combat. So why the upgrade? Scientists believe it's for gender differentiation, but the jury's still out on this one. 🐗🤔

These amazing creatures live far from human eyes, in the vast expanses of the Arctic region. But they are not only beautiful, but also very patient. Especially when it comes to the onset of winter and the formation of sea ice.

It is with the arrival of this long-awaited sea ice that polar bears have the opportunity to reach their hunting grounds on thick ice. Only on thick ice are they able to reach seals, which make up a large part of their diet.

If you see a polar bear sitting on the shore and looking out at the sea horizon, it is patiently waiting for the sea ice to arrive. 🐻‍❄️🌊

Polar bears are known for their incredible patience when waiting for the right moment to hunt seals. They can sit motionless for hours, waiting for a seal to surface through a hole in the ice. This adaptation allows them to survive in the harsh Arctic environment. 🌬️🌨️

Their thick, white fur not only provides insulation but also makes them almost invisible against the snow and ice, making them excellent hunters. 🏆🐾

🦆 Some ducks have mastered a clever trick: they "dance" in place with their feet, creating vibrations similar to rain. The ground starts shaking, and... worms think it's raining, crawl out - right into the beak of the feathered gourmet. 🍖🕺

This fascinating behavior allows ducks to easily catch worms without having to wait for actual rainfall. The vibrations mimic the sound and feel of raindrops, tricking the worms into emerging from their underground hideouts. 🌦️🐛

Once the worms are out in the open, the ducks simply scoop them up with their bills, providing a tasty snack. This unique hunting method showcases the intelligence and adaptability of these waterfowl. 🦆🧠

While not all duck species exhibit this behavior, those that do have an advantage in finding food, especially in areas where rain is scarce. It's just another example of the incredible ways animals have evolved to survive and thrive in their environments. 🌍🦉

The height of an eagle's flight reaches up to 7-9 kilometers.
Thanks to the special design of their wings, eagles can fly calmly even in a hurricane.
The expression "eagle eye" is based on real facts - these birds of prey can see a surface area of 11.5 kilometers, spot a rabbit from a height of more than 3 kilometers, and their peripheral vision angle is 270 degrees.
Each eagle eye can focus on two objects simultaneously (in humans, only one). 🦅
