🐭 Meet the capybara, a unique animal!
It's the only species in its genus and family.

Capybaras make great pets, being affectionate and easy to train.
They love to cuddle and even ask for belly rubs 🐾💕.
However, they require a lot of space to roam and swim, making them unsuitable for city apartments.

Its body length is 40-65 cm, with a long, thin tail of 50-90 cm.
They inhabit the Atlantic coastal rainforests of South America, spending most of their time in the upper tree canopy 🌳.
🐻 The American black bear is found in 39 US states and all Canadian provinces.
It fears humans and prefers to escape or climb trees when threatened.
An adult male is 1.4-2m long and 1m tall.
Its diet consists of 80-95% plants, with the grizzly bear being its main predator 🌳💪
Meet the Cuban anole 🦎, Anolis bartschi, puffing out its throat fan 😮. This endemic species of Cuba, related to iguanas, seems to be frightened 😨.
When threatened, iguanas inflate their throat fan and body, hiss, and make head thrusts 🤺. If threats don't work, they can bite or whip their tail 🌪️.
Interestingly, common iguanas are herbivores, eating leaves, shoots, flowers, and fruits of 100+ tropical plant species 🌴. They can't chew food, so they cut and swallow large pieces whole 🤯.
🐰 The small jerboa, Allactaga elater, is a type of jumping rodent.
Its body is up to 13 cm long, with a 20 cm tail that acts as a balance during jumps 🌟
It has a black and white flag-like tip on its tail.
It feeds on plant parts and seeds, occasionally insects, and is nocturnal 🌃

They are social, living in groups of 2-6, and are an endangered species due to habitat loss and sheep farming. 🐑💔
Gorillas are the largest primates, living in groups of up to 30 in African tropical forests 🌴. A "family" consists of a male, several females, and their children. All members care for the young, teaching them important skills and protecting them from harm 🐒.
A baby gorilla stays with its mother for 6 months, learning to crawl and walk 🚶♀️. They drink mother's milk until 3 years old 🍼.
As they grow, gorillas spend more time with peers, playing and having fun 🤸♀️. But one strict look from the father keeps them in line 😳. By 10-12 years, young gorillas leave to start their own families 👪.
The Ethiopian jackal (kabero, Abyssinian wolf) Canis simensis is one of the rarest species in the canine family. It was also called the Ethiopian fox, but recent genetic studies have proven that the Ethiopian jackal is actually descended from the wolf.
It is a beautiful animal with a cute, intelligent face and a slender, flexible body. Its coat is short and reddish, with white patches on its face, neck, chest, and limbs. The tip of its tail is black. The Abyssinian wolf is larger than a jackal, but much smaller than a wolf, and is about the size of a coyote.
What makes these canids unique is their hunting method. Unlike other members of their family, they do not chase their prey, but instead stalk it like a cat, as their usual prey is not gazelles or other ungulates, but rodents and hares.
They are limited to the Ethiopian Highlands and are a very rare and endangered species. There are only about 500 of them left in the wild.
🐮 The Belgian Blue cow was bred in the 19th century.
It has a "broken" muscle growth limiter, producing little myostatin, a protein that blocks muscle development.
Result: pure muscle, no fat! 🏋️♀️ Their meat is highly valued and considered dietetic.
However, they're sensitive to cold and have birth difficulties due to their muscular build 🥶💔
🐗 Babyrousa, meaning "deer-pig" in Malay, is a unique creature.
Its tusks are fragile and not used for food or defense.
🤔 Their purpose is unclear, but they're a key factor in mate selection.
🌳 Local legends claim they use tusks to cling to trees and rest.
🐹 The Syrian hamster has a rich history, dating back to Charles Darwin.
It was named "golden" by zoologist George Waterhouse, who worked with Darwin.
Interestingly, Waterhouse thought it was extinct! 🙈
Now, they thrive as popular pets worldwide.
Their main food includes seeds, grass, and plants like clover and wheat 🌼🌾

🦊 The Coati (Nasua narica) belongs to the raccoon family.
It's a social animal with interesting behavior, using various sounds and facial expressions to communicate.
Its nose is highly flexible, with many receptors and muscles, helping it find food with its keen sense of smell 🐜.
Coatis eat insects, reptiles, and small mammals, making them unique omnivores 🌿.

Interesting fact: their tail is short and non-prehensile! 🐒💡
Ermine Mustela erminea hunts rabbit. Interestingly, this little predator completely ignores other rabbits, because he has already exhausted his prey.
It is a very common species in the Northern Hemisphere: it lives in the Arctic, subarctic and temperate zones of Eurasia and North America. In Europe, it is found from Scandinavia to the Pyrenees and the Alps, with the exception of Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and Crimea.
The average weight of an adult ermine is about 260 g, while an adult rabbit weighs 1-2 kg. Despite this difference, rabbits are the main food source for carnivorous animals. Stoats also feed on insects, fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
🦊 The shrew (Sorex araneus) is a small insectivorous mammal found in forests and tundras across the northern hemisphere.
🌎 They are known for being the smallest and most voracious mammals.
🔍 Their large head and flexible snout help them find food constantly, as they lose heat quickly and need energy to survive.
📏 They range from 4-10 cm in length and 1.2-14g in weight. 🐾
🐸 The glass frog lives in trees in Central and South America.
Its bones, intestines, and beating heart can be seen through its skin 🌟.
The transparent skin makes them invisible on leaves, creating an optical illusion 🌿.
They change brightness to match the leaf they're on, with peripheral body parts being more transparent 🔍.
