The selection process to be part of the WIUT Jessup Team 2023 is now open!
The WIUT Jessup Community invites WIUT students of all levels to apply to become a member of the WIUT Team for the 2023 Jessup season.
The selection process will consist of four stages:
1. Registration (see the google form below)
2. Written pleadings
3. Oral pleadings
4. Interview
5 candidates successfully passing all four stages will form the WIUT Jessup Team.

The deadline for registration: Wednesday (May 18), 11:59 p.m.
Only the registered candidates will receive the case problem based on which they have to submit Written pleadings (Stage 2) and make Oral pleadings (Stage 3).

📣 WIUT Jessup Community announces the start of the Jessup Spring School 2022!
The WIUT Jessup Spring School is a 2-week intensive school consisting of classes dedicated to the basics of International law and the necessary skills for participating in Jessup.
Each class lasts 2 hours and will be held in the form of lectures, combined with practicing activities and homework assignments.
The School will be a good opportunity for you to get a basic understanding of International law and prepare yourself for the WIUT Jessup Selection Process which starts right after the school ends.

The WIUT Jessup Community is happy to announce that now you may apply to become the member of the WIUT Jessup Team 2021-2022.
The selection process will consist of four stages:

Dear all,
We are happy to announce the starting date of the WIUT Jessup Spring School 2021, which will be May 17 (Monday).
The Jessup Spring School is a two-week intensive course on Public International Law and the Jessup Competition, organized by the experienced tutors in the field and the ex-Jessupers.
The school will consist of interactive lectures, seminars and loads of practical exercises, held on a daily basis from Monday to Saturday.
The classes will start in an on campus mode, but subject to changes due to the current situation with the pandemic.
We welcome all the registered students to dive into the Jessup world with us!

Remember we have talked that Jessup case is always inspired and constructed by emerging world problems? 🤨
🦠 Global pandemic has not sidestepped Jessup competition of the next season.
Soooo, the next year, Jessup case will focus on global pandemic and responses of the States with respect to the outbreak.
Certainly, it will be compelling experience to analyse the global pandemic ( e.g. Covid-19) from purely legal perspective and actions of fictional States in Jessup case while addressing this issue.
Other topics of Jessup 2021 season are

This year, more than 2000 students from representing 600 law schools from more than 90 countries appeared in the 2020/2021 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
The WIUT team this year was coached by Dildora Karimova and represented by Khusniddin Abdufattokhov, Abdulaziz Yunusov, Mariya-Violetta Kilimnik, Diyor Davlatov and Abdurrahman Akhmedov.
Here are the main highlights of this season for WIUT Jessup Team:
- the first team in the Uzbekistan history reaching the advanced rounds of the competition;
- 140th place in the global ranking, highest among all Central Asian countries;
- the Team members among top 250 best oralists among all participants.
The WIUT Jessup Team expresses its gratitude and deep appreciation to everyone who supported and assisted the Team this season!

International Court of Justice
ICJ is a principal judicial organ of United Nations, where only States can bring cases against each other before the ICJ for breach of International Law norms 🏛
There are currently two cases pending before the ICJ, which we would like to exemplify:
The one is the dispute between Ukraine and Russia over the annexation of Crimea and the conflict in Eastern Ukraine (See in detail: https://www.icj-cij.org/en/case/166) 🇺🇦 🇷🇺
The second is the case related to the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar in 2016-2017 (See in detail: https://www.icj-cij.org/en/case/178)🇬🇲 🇲🇲
Teams successfully proceedings as the finalists of the International Rounds have an honour to present the case before judges of International Court of Justice 👍
For example, final match of the 2018 World Championship between the University of Queensland (Australia) and National Law School of India University, Bangalore (India) was judged by ICJ judges - Ronny Abraham, Kirill Gevorgian and Julia Sebutinde👨⚖️👩⚖
