I don't want to spam this channel too much with only Middle East drama, bc the world is more than just the middle east an Israel.
But if you want that thang, get on my dedicated channel, Middle Pissed.
⚠️ Warning: it might be a bit intense.
It has been some time since I last posted on this platform. It is a mere coincidence that I am returning today, exactly as the new conflict between Iran and Israel begins.
This was not planned.
I have been meaning to write for a while regarding various other developments that occurred throughout this month.
Due to being occupied with other projects, I simply did not have the time to dedicate to this channel.
Still, I'm considering to schedule some posts addressing the world events that I failed to address from the past month. I may so shortly.
So whenever I'm gonna do it, it's going to be with the hashtag #rewind.
Expect the unexpected. 😐

It'd be a lot better if Iran would simply become a normal state, engage in trade, work with its neighbors, stop trying to take over the region, stop threatening Israel.
But Iran doesn't seem under its present regime to want to do that. So that's where we're headed.
PiersMorganUncensored">Piers Morgan Uncensored is a guilty pleasure of mine.
It's the political enthusiast’s equivalent of eating junk food.
In conversations with friends, we have often compared it to the WWE of politics.
Others online have called it "a reality show for political junkies".
One of the most legendary examples was the 2023 clash between Rabbi Shmuley and Mohamed Hijab. A collision of titans comparable to King Kong vs. Godzilla.
You sit in awe, unable to endorse either side, watching as the debate descends into wrestling in the mud.
Most of the panels on the show are filled with talking heads spewing propaganda and interrupting each other. Yet, even in these intellectual mud-pits, interesting observations can emerge.

I think this is a pretty good take on the NYC mayoral elections.

Haven’t posted here in a while. Been lost in writing instead - the kind that actually matters.
Anyway. Simhat Tora was never my thing. Too much forced joy, too much loud, annoying music. But yesterday… it hit different.
I can say it now: probably the happiest Simhat Tora of my life.
The war is over. The hostages are home.
For once, I don’t have anything cynical left to add. Just relief.

It seems that the spokesperson of Hamas, the one who was responsible for their genocidal propaganda for decades, is now dead.
He's definitely a Goebbels type.
Especially now, I really don't see what other top leading Hamas figure is left for Israel to eliminate. Maybe only Khaled Mashal?
Enough. The point was made already.
It's time for a ceasefire.

#TIL that there was a DAESH "group" of terrorists that was nicknamed (by the media) "the Jihadi Beatles" 😭
The 37-year-old member of the infamous "Jihadi Beatles" execution cell is serving eight consecutive life sentences in Colorado after he was convicted in 2022 on terrorism charges, including hostage-taking and conspiracy to murder.
Elsheikh was part of the cell that tortured and executed multiple hostages, including journalists James Foley, Steven Sotloff, aid workers David Haines, Peter Kassig and Alan Henning, and human rights activist Kayla Mueller, all between 2013 and 2015.
He was described by the hostages as the main guard and carried out most of the brutal torture, which included waterboarding and electric shocks.
The US government attributed a total of 27 beheadings to the group.
This segment hit me hard. And I agree completely. There’s something deeply off about the decision to keep dragging out the war in Gaza. Sure, it’s reasonable to aim for dismantling Hamas, but the government has no clear endgame. At this point it looks like Bibi is deliberately prolonging the war for his own political survival, at the cost of Israel’s national interest.

It’s still kind of unreal. Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster actually landed the PM of Israel for their podcast.

⏪#rewind to when Kim Jong Un allegedly executed teens for watching the Squid Game.
(Feb 05, 2026)
It represents more than just standard state brutality. It is the ultimate meta-commentary on the show itself:
Systemic Desperation: The regime identifies the show's depiction of a soul-crushing race for survival as a "rotten ideology" because it mirrors the internal reality of the North Korean state.
Selective Justice: Survival in this real-world game remains a matter of capital. Those with wealth or connections can often bribe their way out of "re-education," while the poor and unconnected face the firing squad.
Ideological Enclosure: The 2020 Anti-Reactionary Thought and Culture Act is an attempt to build a digital and cultural wall that is increasingly porous. USB drives and "notetels" continue to cross the border despite the threat of death.
The regime recognizes that the greatest threat to its stability is not a military invasion, but the realization by its youth that there is a world beyond the border.

are we still talking.
For a few blissful months, I managed to avoid the specific brand of digital spectacle hosted by Piers Morgan. Recently, however, I suffered a minor setback when I sat through his latest panel on Iran.
I must admit, it was exhausting to watch, but so that you don't have to watch it entirely, here's the breakdown:
If we are looking for the most nuanced and reasonable voice on the panel, it was undoubtedly General Clark (25:01).
He showed a depth of historical knowledge that was sorely missing from others.
Interestingly, he pointed out that while the original Obama deal with Iran was far from perfect: it was still better than no deal at all (40:16 - 40:41):
Unfortunately, the agreement that we solved, uh, thought we solved it with in 2015, was thrown out in 2018.
And I agree that that agreement wasn't a great agreement. It didn't stop their ballistic missiles, and it didn't stop their axis of resistance. It didn't deal with Hezbollah. But it was an agreement. Now we don't have anything.
Under this new deal, Hamas is no longer a threat to Israel. But it remains a significant threat to Palestinians — and to a broader peace.
Over the last week, reports have emerged from areas of Gaza where Hamas remains in control that the group is rounding up Palestinians who might oppose its rule and conducting executions in the streets. This shows once again that Hamas’ aims have nothing to do with dignity and justice for Palestinians, but only with its continued iron grip on Gaza.
Make no mistake: As long as Hamas remains the only security provider for the population in Gaza, there is no hope for the reconstruction of Gaza nor for a longer-term peace.

Then also, explain this to me ❔
I’d get it if they said he donated to If Not Now or JVP. Those groups are fully on the Palestinian side, basically tokens parroting the Palestinian narrative with zero empathy for Israeli civilians.
But calling JStreet an Israel-hating org? Come on.
And seriously, donating to HRW is now antisemitic?
Do they really think everything revolves around Israel?
Maybe, just maybe, when someone donates to HRW it’s not because of their Israel takes, but because they work on dozens of other human rights issues worldwide.
Also, they wrote that he donated to HRW in 2010, "and likely much more since".
Lol. That’s like me donating to PETA every year, then someone pointing to a whale hunt protest in Iceland and saying: "aha, you hate Scandinavians!"

Man, this is such a whiny little article... What kind of loser wrote such a stupid list?
But even as propaganda piece, it's just bad! Each person in the list gets their little out-of-context quote... But most didn't even get quotes that make them look bad!
For example, Jackson Hinkle. It's so easy to find some incriminating quotes by this dude: he glorified Nasrallah, and he's always pushes antisemitic fake news and conspiracy theories... But this is the quote they used:
Zionism is a genocidal ideology that fuels Israel’s war machine, slaughtering Palestinians with US backing

🧐 LeMonde:
Just like the Beatles, they were three at the start. Like the band, they came from the United Kingdom, but from the west suburbs of London rather than Liverpool. And like the Liverpudlians, the John Lennon equivalent died a violent death long before the other three, who remain alive, in detention. The hostages held by the Islamic State group (IS) gave them the nickname "the Beatles" because of their British accents. They earned the reputation of being the jihadist group's harshest jailers during its grim trade of Western hostages in the mid-2010s in Syria, before they executed several of them.

But in my opinion, the standout Triggernometry interview this month was with Major Andrew Fox. When I try to assess whether the IDF is really performing at its best in Gaza, I often feel out of my depth—lacking the military knowledge to judge honestly. Fox doesn’t have that problem. He’s a former British Army officer who completed three tours in Afghanistan, and also served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, and across the Middle East. He went on to become a senior lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, teaching military theory and leadership in the War Studies and Behavioural Science departments. These days, he’s a research fellow at the Henry Jackson Society.
In other words: He Knows what he's talking about. And this interview is pretty fascinating.
