UPDATE re my Cancer:

Thank you so very much to each and every one of you who has posted here with helpful cancer information, advice, prayers and encouragement. Your messages make a huge difference to me and I’ve relied on so much of the advice offered :)

Im trying all kinds of alternative treatments and supplements, including parasite cleansing etc, as well as the conventional treatments.

I’ve been feeling stronger and more able to do things than I have done for over a year now - so something positive must be happening :)

I can walk again, having been mostly immobile and am no longer in constant pain, thank the good Lord.

I’m also more able to think about doing some work for you all to help with the human rights issues that have arisen over the past few years and continue to be a challenge for many. I’m hoping to offer some human rights law classes online soon.

But in the meantime, I an still unable to work currently in my normal role as a litigator and so am wholly reliant on donations to support me whilst I heal.

I am hugely grateful to those who have been able to support me thus far: I couldn’t have afforded the supplements and treatments etc without this help.

Some of you may be wondering why I’ve had to ask for financial support as they assume I must earn loads as a lawyer or must have savings set aside.
Fair enough questions.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to work as a litigator since 2015 due to ill health.

I’ve been able to do pro bono work for you all over the pandemic by means of helping you to understand the governing law and ethics of the Pandemic but was unable to do chargeable work as my health has been so poor.

I should therefore be so grateful if any of you are able to offer some financial support whilst I get well enough to start earning again - which I hope will be in the next few months.

I hope to give back by continuing to do my work here and on social media and in interviews and talks.

Please do let me know if I can give back by running some human rights and other law courses online for you all? And, if so, what would be most helpful for you all?

In case you may be interested, (although there is an unbelievable amount of apathy over the horrific situation in Palestine and we do not know why), a rebuttal to UK Lawyers for Israel (“UKLFI”) has been prepared by the same team of lawyers and legal academics that drafted the initial Judges' and Lawyers' letter. The rebuttal has been formally endorsed by Lady Hale, Lord Sumption, Lord Wilson, Sir Richard Aikens, Sir Anthony Hooper, Sir Alan Moses and Sir Stephen Sedley.

We have set out the full rebuttal letter in a post below, which is very long, but we would urge you to read it, as it forms the legal basis, and contains the legal arguments relied upon, by all lawyers calling for the UK Government to uphold their obligations to avert and avoid complicity in serious breaches of International Humanitarian law in Gaza.

We believe that the initial letter and this rebuttal letter could in time be a major factor in any legal proceedings against the UK Government.
