In China, HyperLoop is no longer a fantasy. At the test site, the capsule was accelerated to 1,000 km/h: magnetic levitation and a vacuum tube work just as Musk had dreamed.
Now they are building the Shanghai-Hangzhou line: 200 kilometres in 9 minutes. Followed by Beijing-Shanghai in an hour and a half.
The Chinese are not waiting for the future, they are building it at the speed of an aeroplane. 🚄

A helicopter circled Kilauea volcano in Hawaii to record its current activity. From the air, specialists observed steam and lava emissions, as well as assessed the state of the crater. This data will help scientists to predict possible eruptions and warn residents in time. Flights over Kilauea are regularly conducted to monitor the safety of the region.

Chenab Rail Bridge, Jammu and Kashmir, #India 🇮🇳
The highest railroad bridge in the world is 359 meters above the river! That's higher than the Eiffel Tower, can you imagine? It took 10 years to build and engineers say it can withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake.
The bridge connects the towns of Bakal and Kaluri and is part of the Kashmir Railroad project. Its arched structure is impressive with a span of 467 meters.
You can get there via Jammu, from where the bridge is about 200 kilometers away. But be warned - the region is politically unstable, keep an eye on the news before traveling.
Interesting fact: the bridge is built of special steel, which does not rust for 120 years. Engineers obviously planned for centuries ahead!

Samtaesun 8 is the smartphone that turned digital control into art. It was smuggled out of the DPRK, and now the whole world has seen what a real dystopia looks like.
The phone takes hidden screenshots every five minutes and stores them in a secret folder accessible only to intelligence agencies. Any word related to South Korea is immediately replaced with a propaganda term: ‘South Korea’ turns into ‘puppet state’, and ‘oppa’ is just ‘comrade’, with a warning. All text input is edited on the fly so that not a single letter breaks ideological purity.
Instead of a smartphone, a personal supervisor in your pocket. North Korean high-tech: Orwell would be envious. 📱

📱 Danny Boyle shot a blockbuster movie on a $75 million iPhone!
The director used a 15 Pro Max to shoot “28 Years Later,” the long-awaited sequel to the zombie horror. In some scenes, up to 20 phones were working at the same time, creating the “bullet time” effect from “The Matrix” 🤯
Boyle claims that this technique gives a 180-degree view of the action, and viewers are literally immersed in the gory scenes. It's funny: the original “28 Days Later” was shot on a cheap Canon, and now the iPhone has become the new standard of accessibility in the movie industry.

Fireflies of the underworld: Waitomo and Ruakuri caves
The Waitomo and Ruakuri caves in New Zealand are like a portal to the subterranean cosmos. In total darkness their vaults are studded with thousands of luminous dots: these are the larvae of the mushroom midge Arachnocampa luminosa, creating the illusion of a starry sky.
Waitomo is famous for its boat trips on the underground river, while Ruakuri is famous for its long tunnels, stalactites and mystical Maori legends.

Bamboo Fungus: the lace luck mushroom
Bamboo fungus, or bamboo mushroom (Phallus indusiatus), is one of Asia's most unusual delicacies. It is easily recognized by the lacy “skirt” hanging from the stalk. The mushroom grows in the tropics among bamboo and emerges after the rains.
In China, it is prized for its crunchy texture and sweet flavor, and is used in soups and stir-fries. Bamboo fungus is rich in protein, fiber and antioxidants, and in traditional medicine it is considered a symbol of longevity and health.

🏗️ Hong Kong says goodbye to bamboo scaffolding
Hong Kong authorities are planning to phase out the famous bamboo scaffolding that has been a hallmark of the city for decades. The reasons are prosaic: 23 deaths since 2018, a shortage of specialists and fire risks.
The new standard requires 50% of government projects to be done with steel structures.
Well, another authentic chip is going away for safety. Soon rickshaws on electric scooters will ride 🤷♂️.

In Shanghai, 432 robots literally ‘moved’ an entire historic district to build a metro. Houses weighing thousands of tonnes were carefully moved on the new platforms - not a single crack, not a single lost tile. Now China not only builds skyscrapers but also relocates neighbourhoods like furniture. 🤖

There is an unusual place at Sydney Airport: the taxiway runs right over a car tunnel. When an airplane is slowly moving towards the runway, cars are driving underneath it at that moment - only a layer of concrete separates them.
This engineering solution made it possible to connect different parts of the airport without interfering with city traffic. For passengers and drivers, it is a rare opportunity to be literally “under the wing” of a huge airliner.

Parade of planets: a celestial show on June 3
On June 3, a rare parade of planets will unfold in the sky - six planets will line up at once. Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Uranus will be visible at dawn like pearls on a celestial string.
This alignment happens once a decade and is considered the astronomical event of the year. The best conditions for observation are an open horizon and minimal city lights.
Don't miss the chance to see the cosmic wonder with your own eyes!
