Astronomers managed to get unique images of the star R Doradus, a red giant located not far from us by cosmic standards.
In the video, created on the basis of data from the ALMA telescope, you can see not only the surface of the star, but also giant bubbles of plasma, resulting from convection.
Such detail was possible due to the enormous size of R Doradus: it is 350 times larger than our Sun!

It seems unbelievable, but an ordinary packet of Cheetos potato chips almost caused a real ecological disaster in the famous Carlsbad Caves!
Due to the carelessness of a tourist who dropped a packet of chips, a chain reaction started in the caves, which could have led to the death of many animals.
First, the chips attracted insects, then the whole mass became damp and began to mold. It didn't continue, because the park's caretaker Erich König noticed the foreign object and removed it, after which he wrote an essay in which he described how the slightest interference can disrupt a large and fragile ecosystem.
This time around, it was okay.

For the first time in history, an ordinary person (well, almost ordinary) went into outer space.
The lucky person who had the honor of being the first space tourist in outer space was billionaire Jared Isaacman. He was accompanied by Sarah Gillies, a SpaceX crew trainer.
A spacewalk is not exactly what we see in the movies. Isaacman was not “free floating” in space. SpaceX spacesuits don't have their own oxygen supply or other life support equipment. Instead, they used 12-foot hoses for air and communication. It's like deep sea diving, only instead of water, it's endless space!
Isaacman was outside for about ten minutes.

South Korea has developed an AI system called Dejaview that can predict crimes before they happen with 82% accuracy. The system analyzes data from street surveillance cameras and statistics, taking into account the time and place of events.
For example, if a combination of a number of factors occurred at night on the outskirts of a city, the risk of a crime being committed would be high. Dejaview can also monitor a person's actions if new crimes need to be prevented.
The AI uses a range of parameters and analyzes camera footage using machine learning technology to identify signs of impending offenses. The system is planned to be commercialized in late 2025.
Sounds like the beginning of a sci-fi thriller.
