This hangar at the Baikonur Cosmodrome holds the remnants of the ambitious Soviet Buran program. Inside are two space shuttles: the Bird and a test model. They were once a symbol of technological progress, but are now covered in dust and rust. The hangar is located in the inactive part of the complex and is guarded, but this does not stop fans of urban research.
It is not easy to get here: it takes about two days to walk across the Kazakh steppe. However, those who dare to take this risk are in for a thrilling sight - giant shuttles in the semi-darkness of the abandoned structure. Despite its decay, the site remains a living reminder of the Cold War space race.
