A new version of xExchange is under development (you can check out the talk at XDay 23). MvX are also busy building interoperability with the likes of Axelar and Injective (more tokens, deeper liquidity)

There isn't a quick fix to the very difficult conditions all markets have endured over the last few years. Instead, there is an array of solutions that are being developed specifically to grow the DEX.

A pretty valid point, I have to admit 😄
It's far from perfect but it's the best option for inter connectivity at the moment.
Hopefully it will get better in time but one thing is for sure: we're committed to improve and optimize the experience with every xPortal update.
