Kraken won the case regarding XRP.
What is it about?
Apparently, a court directive required all American cryptocurrency exchanges to share customer data of those who invested in XRP.
The lawsuit concerned the allegation that these are securities.
However, the entirety of their victory lies in the fact that they will inform their customers themselves, rather than doing it directly for the lawsuit. This means they did not hand over the data.
It seems they are the only exchange that disagreed, and the court sided with them.
However, this information will reach everyone who bought XRP in the USA between 2017 and 2023:
"Dear Customer,
We would like to inform you about a class action lawsuit against Ripple Labs, which claims responsibility, among others, for individuals or entities that purchased XRP.
According to our data, you purchased XRP on Kraken between July 3, 2017, and June 30, 2023, which means you may be entitled to receive money or benefits resulting from the lawsuit, depending on its outcome."
This implies that other U.S. customers were easily identified as XRP owners.
