Whichever the four consequences you might receive, you still have the power to execute another choice and keep this cycle of 'choice-consequence-choice' going.

Ego and pride

Two parts of your personality that you can bury when you’re looking to grow in life. Ego and pride are the death of a growing mindset.

Ego makes you think you know it all. You know those people that walk around like they’re walking Google’s. The ones that think they know everything about everything and have tried everything?
Even if they have talent or display qualities of greatness, their ego gets in the way of being even greater.

There are many people that are allowing their ego to get in the way of their growth. The funny part is that their not even conscious of it. If you are aiming for true growth, you must give up the illusion of being in control.

When you allow your ego to get the best of you, you become to full of yourself. The old saying, “you act like your shit don’t stink” comes to mind. Often times this can catch up to us when we get on a roll with something. Things seem to be going our way and things seem to be going the way we want them to. We may even be getting lucky.

But when it’s time to pursue new avenues or learn something different, our process is interrupted. And we can’t deal with change. The ego comes out and wants us to go back to what we’re used to so we can receive that winning feeling. This is why it’s important to force change in your life as often as you can. You’re more apt to attack fears and be receptive to learning as opposed to relying on your ego and being closed off to new possibilities.

You can always learn something new from someone new everyday. If you’re not looking to increase your growth everyday, then you’re saying you know everything which will ultimately lead to stagnation. Don’t allow your ego to take over because you’re doing well. Be someone who’s always willing to be better today than you were yesterday.
