Tutankhamun & Julian separated by 1,600 years, but both found themselves in a similar position, their predecessor & relative introduced monotheism, both had surprisingly short reigns, both seeked to "restore tradition." Where they differ is why one succeeded whilst the other failed.

Pagan priest arrested !
Five days ago, police stormed a Kupala celebration in Kaluga, Russia. The festival was canceled and volkhv Belojar, the head of USC SNF (Union of Slavic Communities of the Slavic Native Faith) was arrested. The trial takes place on the 9th of July. He is accused of disobedience to authorities.
I won’t cry crocodile tears over Belojar and his organization. Rodnovers in general and USC SNF especially have been trying to get on the government’s good side for years and got what they deserve. Playing house with anti-European, neo-communist government can only lead to gulags. What is sad is that it’s probably a sign of things to come for Pagan Europeans all over the world. Trying to legitimize your groups is like showing a wolf where your chicken coop is. Sooner or later, it will get hungry.

And before you head spins on creation myths I think they apply to that particular people. Odin, Vili, and Vé for the Germanic people, Prometheus for the Greco-Romans, Atum for Egyptians, Nasadiya Sukta for Vedic, etc.
This is the Folkish view and a respectful one that maintains the integrity of each myth rather than deducing it to “The One” or whatever.
Ancient Pagans believed that one can just randomly meet Gods outside or see them after a ritual. There are countless tales of both heroes and common men dealing with the Gods directly. This genuine belief and connection are impossible with abstract reconstructions of perennial school where gods have no ties to any races and lands (Blood and Soil). Just goes on to show that it’s nothing but a new age trend e-pagans promote. Like all internet trends it will die off soon.

Paganism 101 for Germanic Pagans honoring the Landvaettir.
What Germanic pagans did on a daily basis and yet what most neglect is honoring the Landvaettir and it can be very simple. Being mindful of the natural land around your home and fostering an environment that is friendly to all living things within this area. The modern American lawn is the bane of the Landvaettir it is the cultivation of death. Clean up garbage and anything that is harmful to the land. Create a Vé sacred place for offerings by placing a flat stone in an area that speaks to you. You can mark it if you wish. Even just sitting outside and listening is a way to commune with them. A lot of this sounds like environmentalism mixed with spirituality? That’s because it is! Our ancestors were Animists and saw the value of the spirit in all things natural and strived to live in cohesion with it unlike modern times. If you’re taking from the land give back to it. Avoid loud noises or leaving tools near your sacred space. I’m certain the majority of American land is cursed because of our absolute disrespect to these forces that’s an easy parallel any Native American could agree on. In the Landnámabók, land spirits violently claimed the life of a settler who failed to honor traditional heathen customs and rituals.

There are many different solar deities in European traditions. The supposed original sun god perennialists "reconstruct" is male, but in some tradition the solar deity is female like Sol in Germanic one. So this true solar god either doesn’t care what humans think he is or is just a plaything in mortal hands powerless to stop them from turning him into whatever they want. It makes the supposed progenitor gods so powerless they may as well be nothing but memes i.e. ideas (because they are) or so distant and careless there’s no point in worshipping them.

At the end of the day Conan’s weird religious views come down to Robert E. Howard’s mix of wanna be tough guy personality and christian upbringing. I bet if the man was alive today he’d be one of the We don’t kneel before the Gods! types. Much like his Conan stories, Howard’s attitude appeals to angsty teens and manchildren but those with IQ above their age understand that there’s nothing wrong with religion and subservience to the Gods.

For an attentive cultural historian, fairy tales are therefore of great value, and he will easily be able to distinguish in them all the later additions, which, in the end, will also be of interest to him.
