➡️ The U.S.-backed Kurdish Syrian forces (SDF) and Syria's Turkey-backed rebels reached a ceasefire agreement in the northern city of Manbij through a U.S. mediation "to ensure the safety and security of civilians," SDF commander Mazloum Abdi said early on Wednesday.

"The fighters of the Manbij Military Council, who have been resisting the attacks since November 27, will withdraw from the area as soon as possible," Abdi added.

The answer is yes! The "Life Difficulty Index" measures how hard it is for a graduate with a median income to buy a median house and an average car. It's 2.2x harder for gen Z than their parents!

Birthrates are falling even through ideal family size is higher than in 1975, and the difficulty for young people to afford a house is a big part of why.

In terms of national policy, we need to build more family-appropriate housing. More locally, Boomers should help their kids!

Joulani can’t build an air force now. Best he can do is get drones and missiles, these don’t require any heavy infrastructure to store and maintain

🔸 But which ally would be ideal?

Iran wants influence and a land bridge to Lebanon. Russia wants to keep its naval port and airbase. Russia would be easier to keep as it wouldn’t get as involved into domestic Syrian affairs. But Iran could offer potentially closer military cooperation.

Turkey already supplies HTS with weapons and supplies, but this might change as Turkey isn’t willing to give back Syrian territory it has occupied and will use its territory and its SNA militants as leverage against Joulani’s regime

🔸 Joulani needs to invest more heavily into FPVs and other drones like the Shaheen.

Israel will always treat Joulani as a threat because he’s more than willing to cooperate and supply weapons to insurgent groups that attack the Israeli army

By December 8th, 2024, the Syrian Arab Republic, along with the ruling Assad dynasty, had collapsed. In its place, the Syrian Transitional Government was established and emerged with a new era. As for what happens next, neighboring Iraq may present a realistic path forward. After Iraq, Iran, and Turkey defeated ISIS in 2017, they invaded Iraqi Kurdistan. This move enabled Turkish forces to expand militarily and establish many bases within Iraqi borders. Now, with Assad gone, Syria's Kurdish-ruled separatist state in the northeast has an uncertain future.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northeastern Syria live in a house built on sand. As a Kurdish-led coalition of diverse ethnic militias, they will have to contend with local demographics, which include a wide geographical dispersion of Sunni Arabs. Many of whom are vocally sympathetic towards the FSA, setting the tone for mass uprisings and the activation of sleeper agents within their territories. In fact, much of the SDF itself is composed of such fifth column elements. If a joint Syrian-Turkish invasion transpired here, it would likely be accepted as a war of liberation with local support among the Arab populace.

After a major victory for Turkish influence in the Levant, US & Israeli officials are worried about defending a land corridor in Syria. In order to prevent regional actors such as Turkey, Iran, and various Islamist factions from posing a threat to Israel and their regional allies, the Kurds. Some have theorized that Israel and Turkey agreed to partition Syria. Something akin to the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact and the ramifications it had for Poland. Despite the outcome of which led to the most brutal chapter of war in human history with tens of millions dead.

The incoming Trump administration must work to fully secure America's rare earth supply chains against Chinese dominance by leveraging the advantages at the country's disposal. The U.S. has significant reserves of materials in its subsoil, which could allow it to have the second-highest production of rare earth elements in the world. These reserves are severely underdeveloped.

Israeli Media has not specifically named this unit exact press releases state the following
"Paratroopers, Engineering, Infantry, and Armored units are operating in the region under the command of territorial brigades."

Unconfirmed from Lebanese Media Al Mayadeen areas in Yellow have been taken by IDF over the past few hours and between 10-20km from Damascus with no resistance. So far no videos or evidence to back these claims up and should be taken with salt until something more substantive comes out.
