4. Forming a professional army and not placing foreign fighters in sensitive leadership positions.

5. Access to all chemical weapons facilities and their program.

6. Forming a committee for missing Americans, including journalist Aston Tice.

7. Handing over ISIS families within Syrian territory to the al-Hol camp, which is under the control of the SDF in northeastern Syria.

8. Preventing Iran's entrenchment and designating the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization.

1. Releasing $500 million of frozen assets in Europe

2. Saudi Arabia pays $15 million of Syria's arrears to the World Bank, paving the way for grants for reconstruction.

3. The World Bank will support Syria through its International Development Association by providing $300 million for the electricity and infrastructure sector

4. Removing Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham from the banned groups, restoring diplomatic relations between the two countries, and recognizing the unity of Syrian territory

5. Cooperation between American and Syrian intelligence, which has already taken place in recent months through the detection of operations before they are carried out

An art historian who chaired Louisville’s public art commission said he would leave his post amid plans to restore a statue of King Louis XVI graffitied by protestors in 2020 following the police killing of Breonna Taylor.

In an op-ed published in the Courier-Journal, Chris Reitz, a scholar who has published two books on painter Martin Kippenberger, accused the city of Louisville, Kentucky, of attempting to “erase all evidence” of those 2020 protests on their five-year anniversary. He raised concerns about the cost of restoring the sculpture, which he described as being “beyond repair,” and questioned the true motivation for paying the sum.

Questions about what to do with the statue have been debated ever since. A 2022 survey found that just 60 percent of Louisville residents thought the statue represented their values. And research commissioned by the city revealed that the sculpture was already structurally damaged before the 2020 protests.

The number of ships departing from China to the US over the last 15 days has dropped to its lowest since February.

Excluding the Chinese New Year-related decline in February, this is the lowest level in over a year.

Shipping volumes have declined by ~50% since mid-April as reciprocal tariffs began.

This is all despite the US-China 90-day tariff truce announced on May 12th.

The effective US tariff rate on China is above pre-April 2nd levels, at 33%.
