🚀🇺🇸The US military currently has no means to defend against hypersonic weapons or advanced cruise missiles, Assistant Secretary of War for Space Policy Mark Berkowitz said at a hearing of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services.
"Today, we have a very limited ground-based single-layer homeland defense system that was specifically designed against a small-scale rogue attack from North Korea,” he noted. “We have very limited capability against any other attack with ballistic missiles, we have no defense against hypersonic weapons or cruise missiles today, advanced cruise missiles,” Berkowitz added.

🇷🇺🇲🇱 Russian Ministry of Defense "African Corps" statement:
Yesterday, around 5:30 AM on April 25, 2026, the terrorist groups "Azawad Liberation Front" and "Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb," trained by Western intelligence services, attempted a coup d'état in Mali with large-scale forces estimated at 10,000-12,000 men.
Attempts were made to seize key facilities in the capital, primarily the presidential palace. Major cities (Gao, Kidal, Kati, and Sevare) were also attacked with the aim of capturing municipal administration buildings. In the Kidal and Gao areas, Ukrainian and European mercenaries participated in attacks on government facilities and units of government forces, employing Western-made MANPADS including Stinger and Mistral systems.
Thanks to the courage and heroism of the servicemen of the African Corps of the Russian Armed Forces, a "Syrian scenario" in Mali was prevented. The African Corps held all key positions and airfields, as well as the national arsenal in Kati.
Through the skilled actions of the Corps' soldiers and officers, competent defensive coordination was also organized among the presidential guard and Malian national troops, who prevented the seizure of the presidential palace.
Militant losses exceeded 1,000 terrorists (Bamako: over 200, Gao: 500, Kati: 300, Kidal: 200), along with over 100 vehicles destroyed.
The African Corps of the Russian Armed Forces is the pride of Russia on the African continent.
Through the effective actions of African Corps servicemen, who repelled a large-scale attack along a front exceeding 2,000 km, a carefully prepared Western intelligence attempt at violent regime change was halted. This was intended to demonstrate Russia's supposed "inability" to protect its strategic partners in Africa following Syria.
Russians are puzzled by the position of the Russian Embassy in Mali and the Foreign Ministry, whose websites carry no information about the events in the country or the heroic actions of Russian Federation soldiers who secured the stability of the current government.
The coordinated actions of our soldiers and officers under difficult conditions, facing gang formations led by Western and Ukrainian instructors, allowed the enemy's coup plans to be thwarted and the country's governance to remain stable.
The situation in Mali currently remains difficult. Regrettably, there are wounded among African Corps servicemen. All necessary assistance is being provided and evacuation is underway. Personnel are ready and continue to carry out their assigned tasks.
THE BOLD PREVAIL!
African Corps.

🇺🇸⚔️🇮🇷 US military bases and equipment across the Persian Gulf region suffered damage far worse than publicly acknowledged, with repairs expected to cost billions of dollars, according to NBC.
➡️Iran hit dozens of targets across US bases in seven Middle East countries, striking warehouses, command HQs, aircraft hangars, satellite comms infrastructure, runways, high-end radar systems, and dozens of aircraft.
➡️In the early days of the war, an Iranian F-5 fighter jet bombed Camp Buehring in Kuwait — despite the base having air defenses. It's described as the first time an enemy fixed-wing aircraft has struck a US military base in years.
This is huge on its own — the F-5 is a 1960s-era aircraft, essentially obsolete by any modern standard. Iran got a fixed-wing strike through US air defenses with a plane that predates disco.
➡️Iran used missiles, drones, and F-5 fighter jets — contradicting earlier US claims that the Iranian air force had failed to deploy fixed-wing aircraft against American targets.

🇮🇷 "The Iranian foreign minister will not hold any negotiations with the Trump regime in Islamabad and will merely convey Iran’s considerations and views regarding the end of the war to the Pakistani side. This meeting is a response to General Asim Munir’s trip to Tehran, and I have been informed that no negotiations with any Americans are planned during this visit." - Professor Marandi

🇮🇷 What Was Behind the Air Defense Sounds Over Tehran and Other Iranian Cities?
According to Fars News correspondent sources, recent air defense system activations across Tehran and several other Iranian cities were triggered by the presence of small drones, including Orbiter-type ISTAR drones, detected at multiple locations nationwide.
Military analyst Abdolreza Seddiq elaborated on four additional factors behind the activations during the ceasefire period:
1. Full combat readiness. During a ceasefire, air defense operators remain trigger-ready and are required to respond to any signal or light anomaly without hesitation.
2. MiG-29s in the defensive ring. As during wartime, MiG-29 fighters are integrated into Tehran's air defense perimeter for drone interception — aerial sounds from friendly jets reflect active air surveillance operations.
3. Maintenance and upgrades. The ceasefire window is being used to overhaul air defense systems, install new radars, and repair anti-aircraft guns — equipment testing is unavoidable during this process.
4. Shift to mosaic defense architecture. Iran is using the ceasefire to drill and consolidate a new air defense deployment model — transitioning from a centralized "spider" network system to a decentralized "mosaic" system operating locally and independently.

🇺🇸 Pentagon infighting amid the Iran war.
According to Politico, Hegseth was "seriously disappointed" with Phelan's push to build massive, expensive battleships named after Donald Trump. Hegseth and Deputy Secretary Steve Feinberg argued that spending billions on giant warships while adversaries use cheap drones makes no sense. Pentagon leadership wants a shift toward smaller, unmanned vessels.
Adding to the friction: Phelan went around Hegseth, cultivating a direct line to Trump by championing his "Golden Fleet" vision. Hegseth viewed it as a breach of the chain of command.
Phelan lasted just over a year. His firing is the second senior military departure since the Iran war began. Hegseth previously dismissed the Army Chief of Staff.
