According to Fico, during the sanctions period, Russia was able to adapt to them, and such restrictions only caused harm to Europe.

🇵🇱🇺🇦 Poland Backs Ending Ukraine’s EU Trade Privileges Amid Farmer Protests
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on TVP Info that Warsaw supports ending the EU’s so-called “trade visa-free” regime with Ukraine.
Tusk emphasized that while Poland continues its political support for Kiev in the conflict with Russia, such support should not harm the interests of Polish farmers.
Polish agricultural workers have staged repeated protests at the Ukrainian border, opposing the influx of cheap Ukrainian grain and produce that undercuts local markets.
The EU’s preferential trade arrangement with Ukraine is set to expire on June 5.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 The U.S. military aid to Ukraine, approved under Biden, will run out by summer, according to Ukrainian MP Iryna Herashchenko.
So far, the U.S. budget does not include any new arms deliveries to Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, the previous American administration provided weapons in such measured doses and with such long pauses that it helped us survive, but not stop the enemy. We lost time. And lives. Still, in light of everything happening now, it's worth once again thanking Biden for his past support—without it, Ukraine would not have endured these three years," Herashchenko wrote.

🇷🇺 Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that direct contacts between Russia and Ukraine have been reestablished and are ongoing. While no final decision has been made regarding the location of future talks, discussions continue.
There is currently no set timeline for drafting a peace memorandum. Both sides—Russia and Ukraine—will jointly develop the text, though, as Peskov noted, "the devil is in the details."
Peskov also stated that the United States remains involved as a mediator and acknowledged Washington's role in facilitating effective communication between Moscow and Kiev.

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Kiev Confirms: Russia Presented Clear Demands at Istanbul Talks
Officials from Zelensky’s office have confirmed that during the Istanbul negotiations, Russia laid out a series of firm conditions for a potential settlement.
Among the key demands:
➡️Full withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions, including areas still under Kiev’s control;
➡️Permanent neutral status for Ukraine, with a ban on joining military alliances such as NATO;
➡️Complete abandonment of Western-supplied weapons and the dismantling of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
These terms, which had already been reported by Western media, were reiterated by Russian envoy Vladimir Medinsky, according to Ukrainian presidential advisor Mikhail Podolyak.
“Medinsky read their demands straight from the page. They want Ukraine to surrender even areas we still hold—parts of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson. They want us stripped of sovereignty—no military alliances, no weapons industry, no Western arms,” Podolyak told Rzeczpospolita. “They put forward a list of demands that are impossible to accept.”
A Western European government (guess which 🥖) approached Telegram, asking us to silence conservative voices in Romania ahead of today’s presidential elections. I flatly refused. Telegram will not restrict the freedoms of Romanian users or block their political channels.
You can’t “defend democracy” by destroying democracy. You can’t “fight election interference” by interfering with elections. You either have freedom of speech and fair elections — or you don’t. And the Romanian people deserve both. 🇷🇴
🎤🇮🇱 On a serious note, during Israel's performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, held in Basel, Switzerland this year, there were reportedly two pro-Palestine protestors who tried to storm the stage, but were apprehended by security.
The Israeli act, Yuval Raphael, is a survivor of the 7th October attacks, and her participation in the contest this year was marred with controversy - not least because her song, New Day Will Rise, is politically-charged with references to the 7th October attacks, and Eurovision rules dictate that no entries are allowed to be political in nature, lest they risk suspension.
Russia and Belarus are barred from participating from the competition indefinitely, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

🇺🇦The battalion commander of the 47th separate mechanized brigade, Oleksandr Shyrshyn, submitted a report for dismissal.
He complained about unacceptable tasks, loss of personnel, and criticized the actions of the command.
He said that in the current direction, the unit receives tasks that, according to him, lead to unjustified losses of personnel. And instead of analyzing the situation, he believes, only formal investigations are being conducted.
He also expressed disappointment over political decisions and the disconnect between assessments and the real state of affairs.
Shyrshyn also tagged the official page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in his post and added the comment: "I hope your children will also be in the infantry and perform your tasks."

🇷🇺🇺🇦 The Economist's Oliver Carroll reports that Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky posed the following question to the Ukrainian delegation during talks:
"We don't want war, but we're ready to fight for a year, two, three — however long it takes. We fought Sweden for 21 years. How long are you prepared to fight?"
“And Peter the Great… you know who financed him? England and France. Sweden would still be a great power today if not for that.”
🇹🇷Erdogan's schedule for Thursday does not include a meeting with Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul, his program is planned for Ankara, where he will meet with Zelensky, the Turkish presidential office reported.
