🇲🇰🇦🇱 North Macedonia's largest ethnic Albanian political party, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), has reportedly turned to "international experts" to draft a new proposal for the Albanian-majority regions in the country. The proposed draft is to be modeled after similar regional arrangements as seen in Belgium and Northern Ireland.
According to North Macedonian media, the DUI will likely propose the creation of an autonomous ethnic Albanian region within the recognised borders of North Macedonia.
The DUI is a political party founded by one Ali Ahmeti, who also founded the National Liberation Army (NLA). Modeled after the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), the NLA was a guerilla/terrorist militia that sought to unite the entire western half of North Macedonia with Albania, for the purpose of creating a Greater Albania, similar to how the KLA sought to unite Kosovo and the Preševo Valley regions of Serbia into Albania.
