The agent didn’t give an answer yet because he will gather and assess all interested clubs and then talk to Müller at the end of the season to see if he wants to stay in Europe or go elsewhere.To date, most of the teams linked to Müller have been in MLS. Now, though, the veteran might be able to play much closer to home and at a higher level. Then, we saw another report break that Wirtz had Real Madrid as his top destination, with Bayern Munich ranking a distant third on the Wirtz Desirability Scale (not a scientific measurement). Finally, the latest news indicates that Pep Guardiola might be swaying Wirtz to move to England in hopes of following the former Bayern Munich coach’s master plan for him with Manchester City.Maybe Bayern Munich gets Wirtz, maybe not. If it fails, who should Bayern Munich look to in hopes of bolstering the attack? Let’s look at a few options.Internally, Bayern Munich could throw its faith in Paul Wanner, who is on loan with Heidenheim this season. Bayern Munich released an update on its website regarding the status of both Manuel Neuer and Dayot Upamecano: Following the 4-0 win at 1. FC Heidenheim, coach Vincent Kompany gave his players two days off over Easter. Two FC Bayern pros, however put in a extra shift on Monday. Dayot Upamecano and Manuel Neuer completed individual sessions at the Säbener Straße training ground.Defender Upamecano, who suffered a knee injury at the end of March, did some laps of the training pitch followed by exercises with the ball. Captain Neuer also continued to work on his comeback after a reaction in his calf during his recovery programme following a muscle strain.

Despite numerous rumors linking Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz to Bayern Munich, Manchester City could be surging ahead in the pursuit. Why, though?Well, City manager Pep Guardiola appears to be winning over Wirtz with the plan he is presenting to the Germany international per kicker (via @iMiaSanMia). Surely, the deep pockets of Manchester City are not hurting the club’s chances, either: Bayern are not Florian Wirtz’s top priority should he decide to leave Bayer Leverkusen. The player is rather impressed by Pep Guardiola’s attempts to bring him to Manchester City. A potential Xabi Alonso move to Real Madrid could also influence Wirtz’s decision. While Bayern Munich might seem like the logical next step for Wirtz, there are some logistical issues. First, Wirtz and Jamal Musiala play the same position and there is a thought that head coach Vincent Kompany might not be able to be as flexible as German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann with positions. Second, Manchester City offers the bigger platform for Wirtz to build a reputation that could result in better odds for Wirtz to win the Ballon d’Or. It is key to note that Wirtz would also not have to share the spotlight (or attacking midfielder position) with Musiala. Granted, Wirtz could have to split votes with Erling Haaland at Manchester City, much like he would at Bayern Munich with Musiala. Finally, Manchester City could just be a better bet to win the Champions League for the next five seasons than Bayern Munich given their deep roster, deep pockets, and Guardiola’s allure to top talents worldwide. All of that does matter. A recent report on the immense workload that Bayern Munich and Korean defender Kim Min-jae was subjected to has raised concerns over the handling of players and long-term effects on their physical wellbeing. Korea MNT pointed fingers at the club for the visible drop in the 28-year-old’s performances and subsequent scrutiny, but Max Eberl said they’re buying into the situation too much.“It was never a threat to his health. I don’t want to make too much of it,” Eberl said (Bild as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “But, of course, he had problems and couldn’t really train. But we needed him. I think some of the criticism of Min-jae is exaggerated. It’s true that he was involved in one or two of the goals conceded, but it’s not all bad.”BFW AnalysisBoth sides share the blame for how Kim’s situation came to this point. If you remember, Kim played all the minutes for Bayern last season, went on international duty where he also played every game, went back to Munich and continued to play even more games. That Real Madrid game can be considered a prime example of fatigue taking its toll on him.This season, he’s not at 100% fitness yet Vincent Kompany continues to play him despite obvious signs that the player was about give way at any second. The 38-year-old Belgian’s insistence on using the same players has become the folly of his system. Even in recent games: Kompany played the same lineup along the stretch of the Champions League Quarterfinals, both home and away, and went 0/3 in wins. He did change things up for Heidenheim and visible improvements were seen.The point here is that Kim should have been given more rest this season, even if he proved to be a capable partner to Dayot Upamecano (who is also out injured). Bayern Munich has a history of iconic shirts over the years. From the classic red home kit, to some more creative concepts, Bayern fans have worn their classic kits for decades. Thanks to the internet, fans get a good idea of next season’s shirts ahead of time thanks to leaks. Next season is no different.All three Bayern Munich kits for next season have now all been leaked. First, the Bayern Munich home kit will be a classic red shirt with some interesting white accents and striped sleeves. It almost looks like fang marks of white clashing with the red, but it works fairly well.As for the away kit, this is where things start to go wrong. A clash of color and design simply does not work, or at least in early concept. So much was always going to be expected of Max Eberl when he stepped into his role as board member for sport at Bayern Munich following his exit from RB Leipzig, and there is simply no escaping the limelight with the German Rekordmeister. Working alongside sporting director Christoph Freund, Eberl has been spearheading Bayern’s transfer market activity ever since he stepped into his role at the beginning of March in 2024.So far, Eberl and Freund have been responsible for signing Hiroki Itō, João Palhinha, and Michael Olise, along with the return of Josip Stanišić from his loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen. He also helped bring in keeper Jonas Urbig from FC Köln this winter amidst Manuel Neuer’s injury absence as well as Sven Ulreich’s extended unavailability due to personal reasons.Most recently, the contract extensions of Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich were secured, costing the club a considerable deal of money - money that some of the club’s supervisory board feels the club should have saved with the prospective signing of Florian Wirtz on the horizon this summer. Former Bayern and Germany legend Lothar Matthäus recently offered his view on the some of the current striges between Eberl and Bayern’s board, noting that he also feels there are things Eberl could have done differently. “One might have expected different transfers from Max, especially regarding sales. FC Bayern would also have naturally liked to save money in the negotiations with Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies - money that the club has earned over the years and put aside. That has led to criticism of Eberl,” Matthäus explained via Sky Sport (via @iMiaSanMia). It’s known that the Leverkusen and Germany playmaker would cost upwards of 150-million euros to sign, so Bayern needed to be cognizant of that sentiment and try to save money where feasible. “Everyone knows that Florian Wirtz has been spoken to or is being negotiated with, and that Eberl is not at the table, but rather people from the past who still have influence at FC Bayern. As I see it from the outside, Eberl is not involved in these plans. Uli Hoeneß has been in contact with the Wirtz family for more than a year. He and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are handling this matter on their own,” Matthäus described in his estimation of how the club is trying to persuade Wirtz to leave Leverkusen and join them. The structure of the club certainly has a history of both Rummenigge and Hoeneß steamrolling decision-making processes, especially when they were club CEO and president. For anyone who steps into Bayern’s front office, there are difficult waters to navigate through in that sense — the opinions of the pair of power figures are always going to bear weight. All things considered, the way Thomas Müller’s contract and decision to not offer him an extension was handled is something else that goes against Eberl in Matthäus’ opinion. The club waited very late to let the club legend know this would be his last season with Bayern. Of course, it is not all Eberl’s doing, but it does fall directly under his purview. “Such things have become common in recent years and are not good for a healthy energy within the club. The way the Müller situation was handled also did Eberl no good. Such mistakes are bad. But Luis Enrique’s side has put Paris firmly past their glitzy but shallow era and they are now playing with the cohesiveness for which they once looked upon Bayern with envy. Inter Milan — Well, how about it? The well-drilled side with the stingy defense, impressive center-backs, and brutal efficiency would make a fitting counter-point to a modern footballing world full of sides looking to control via dominant possession. FC Schweinfurt in a bid to record just their second win of 2025, having trounced Eintracht Bamberg in their previous match after going the seven previous matches without a win. It was a loss at home against Schweinfurt that kicked off the seven match winless run, so there was room for retribution here.And retribution was delivered here, on the back of a phenomenal first half performance. Everything fit, from the pressing to the defensive organization to the chance creation, with a wonderful solo goal from Jonathan Asp Jensen giving Bayern the lead. The second half was much more even. Schweinfurt decided to go more direct and play quicker passes, with Bayern struggling to catch up. Ultimately, enormous amount of goal scoring chances that both teams wasted for the majority of the match. That is not to say Bayern’s defense was poor, however. Center backs Paul Scholl and Gabriel Marušić, are starting to build up a rather formidable partnership after having to spend most of the season as back ups and did very well in their defensive duties, with most of the opponent’s chances coming through overloads and late runs into the box. Goalkeeper Anthony Pavlešić particularly impressed, making many very impressive saves. Pavlešić has had a fairly poor season so far but, stepping in for usual goalkeeper Max Schmitt in the last few games, he has proven just what he can do. Julien Yanda, on the left, is improving game upon game and even delivered the assist for Tim Binder’s goal. But it was not all great. Right back Magnus Dalpiaz struggled and had to be hooked at half time, on a yellow card and already close to being sent off. Defensive midfielder Luca Denk, as well, had a very poor match and rather struggled to provide any defensive solidity. Felipe Chavez had to put in a lot of work to cover for him.In the attack, the star of the show was Jonathan Asp Jensen. He is becoming more and more comfortable with being the team’s star man and scored a beautiful goal as an opener. He has to be one of the prime candidates to get some minutes under Vincent Kompany.Unfortunately, despite the victory, promotion is still just about impossible. Schweinfurt are still 10 points clear of Bayern, having played a game more, with 4 matchdays to go. The team put up brave fights against an in-form Inter Milan, despite running with a severely depleted squad. Given their prospects, it is only natural that the upcoming transfer window will be utilised to fortify the squad. Bayern, in an attempt to solidify the defense have reportedly been looking into Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Kō Itakura. Per Rheinische Post and @iMiaSanMia, the centre-back also being sought after by Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. The former Kawasaki Frontale and Manchester City defender is also being heavily pursued by clubs from the Premier League and him leaving Gladbach this summer is highly likely.It is only natural that the Bavarians are looking at him — he is a fantastic passer, and terrific at tackling with a very good tackle win rate. Additionally, what makes him a Bayern pursuit is his versatility — he can additionally play as a defensive midfielder. Following the 2020 Champions League title, Bayern Munich has struggled to find consistent play from its wingers. Bayern has struggled to unload its current crop of wingers due to excessive salaries that did not line up with their on-field performances.After last summer’s Bayern €60M successful acquisition of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, Bayern are looking to upgrade the left wing. Olise has been considered a steal and currently leads the Bundesliga with 11 assists. A natural scorer on the left wing would be an excellent complement to Olise’s style.In the upcoming summer transfer window, Bayern has identified Kingsley Coman as a transfer candidate. A report from Sport Bild indicates that a Premier League club has reciprocated that interest (via @iMiaSanMia).Arsenal have spoken to the management of Kingsley Coman to express their interest, but have not spoken directly to the player yet. Coman has not actively told Bayern that he wants to leave. The Frenchman has a very good relationship with Vincent Kompany. Nevertheless, Bayern are very open to selling Coman this summer and are willing to listen to offers, as they want to bring in ‘new blood’ in the squad.Coman’s €19M salary at Bayern would make him the highest paid player at Arsenal FC. He would likely need to accept a pay cut or Bayern would be forced to make a financial concession to make the deal work.Bayern Munich traveled to Heidenheim and the home side was dead on arrival. Lifeless, hapless, and overwhelmed, Heidenheim showed none of that trademark fight that was so present in the early weeks of this season. The Bavarians won 4-0 in a rout, which was a good sign for a squad that has easily lost focus in these situations in the past. Nadiem Amiri was coached by the young Julian Nagelsmann at TSG Hoffenheim, where both of their careers started to flourish in their respective roles. Now the two will finally reunite as former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has called up his former talent to the national team. Amiri stated this week that the call from Julian Nagelsmann made him quite emotional.“After I received a call from Julian Nagelsmann on Tuesday, I was in tears. It was my dream for so long to be able to play for the national team again. I worked hard, trying to improve every day”, said Amiri, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Nadiem is having an outstanding season. He’s a very good example of how you can take a step back to push your career forward”, Nagelsmann added.Mainz fan or not, you can’t help but feel happy for Amiri, who has done more than enough to earn the call to Germany this time around. Mainz sit third in the Bundesliga, largely due to Amiri’s performances.This might be an important callup though. Brandt and Havertz, who started the last two matches under Nagelsmann at the central attacking midfielder position, are both missing from March’s squad. It is quite possible for Amiri to start at least one of the two matches for Germany, where he can truly prove his worth. If anyone knows how to get the best of Amiri, it is Nagelsmann.
