🇦🇪💰— UAE gold holdings rise a staggering 25.9% in the first 5 months of 2025, despite not owning a single gold mine.

➡️ Most of its gold comes from illegal mining in the Sahel, namely countries like Mali and Sudan, in the year 2022 alone, at least $30 billion worth of gold was smuggled out of Africa, most of it ended up in the UAE.

➡️ During a 10-year period between 2012-2022, that amount summed up to 2,569 metric tons of gold, worth around $115 billion, to the UAE only, which was before the Sudan war started.

➡️ The IDF has admitted that the strike was carried out by it's ground troops, rather than the air force. The IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered an "inquiry" into the event.
