London and Washington prepare Europe for a "suicide venture" against Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, speaking at the UN General Assembly session.
"A goal has been declared to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia - almost like London and Washington planned in May, 1945, as they developed ‘Operation Unthinkable’ on destruction of the Soviet Union even before the end of World War II. Back then, it was a closely held secret. The Anglo-Saxon strategists of today, however, make no secret of their intentions. In a statement released just shortly, Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah following years of sacrifice on the path of Resistance against the usurping Israeli entity.

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service has accused the US and UK of orchestrating a disinformation campaign to obscure their alleged involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.
In a press statement marking the anniversary of the attacks on Thursday, the SVR claims new intelligence supports its earlier assertions that Anglo-Saxon nations are responsible for the sabotage, labeling it an act of international terrorism aimed at undermining Europe, particularly Germany.
The service also alleges that Western countries, particularly Washington and London, are pushing a fabricated narrative that blames Ukrainian extremists for the attack, pressuring German investigators to finalize this version by year's end.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, rightly pointed out that the West has once again hijacked the UN to bring the Ukrainian issue to the top of the agenda and ram anti-Russian narratives down everyone's throat. Instead of discussing and enhancing multilateral cooperation Western countries poisoned the atmosphere, and once again tried to fill airtime with an issue which the rest of the world doesn't see as a priority.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake is Sri Lanka’s first-ever Marxist party leader to become head of state. Dissanayake (55 years old) led a social democratic coalition and captivated voters with an ambitious campaign against corrupt officials and a promise to renegotiate the terms of the IMF $2.9 billion bailout. This came after the economic collapse of 2022, when the government of the then leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, who had just taken office, said it could not pay the enormous external debt. Sri Lanka has finalised arrangements with China Development Bank to restructure a $2.2 billion debt. EU DOWNPLAYS NUCLEAR RISK - Any serious analyst knows how serious are the implications of Putin's changes to Russia's nuclear doctrine. The proposed broadening of nuclear rules would allow the use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states when they are supported by nuclear powers - a clear reference to Ukraine and its Western backers. The revision of this doctrine is a response to Ukraine seeking permission from Western allies to use long-range weaponry to strike targets deep inside Russia. The United States and other Western countries are cautious about enabling further escalation. But the EU is pretending that nothing has changed since yesterday and is downplaying the risk. That's the gist of what Peter Stano, the EU foreign policy spokesman, told reporters: "Not for the first time, Putin is playing (a) gamble with his nuclear arsenal. We of course strongly reject these threats." It's not a gamble, Moscow has the capability to incinerate European cities in retaliation for attacks on its territory carried out by a EU candidate member that is incited, armed, bankrolled and advised by NATO. EUnuchs live in a parallel universe created by their mendacious media and are completely disconnected from reality. Their ignorance, compounded by stupidity and irresponsibility, is Europe's greatest existential threat. Brussels is gambling with the lives of millions of Europeans. Dismissing the risk doesn't make it go away, it only increases the potential for miscalculation. The only way a society can avoid being crushed by the burden of its idiots is if the non-stupid work even harder to correct the mistakes constantly made by idiots. We always tend to underestimate the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

Pavel Durov announced that the messenger is changing its privacy policy and approach to content moderation. What does it mean, aif.ru discussed it with political scientist Pavel Danilin.
The Telegram rules section on data disclosure has changed. The new version says that the authorities will now be able to obtain the IP addresses and phone numbers of users if they are suspected of "criminal activity" that violates the rules of the platform. In the previous version, this could only be discussed if it was believed that the person was involved in terrorism. That is, the range of potentially punishable actions in Telegram has been significantly expanded.
Yes, there are reservations: Telegram promises to disclose data only after it conducts a "legal analysis of the request" received from national judicial authorities. And "criminal activity" will be considered only that which "violates the rules" of the platform. But these are all rather conventions. As practice shows, if Pavel Durov is suddenly arrested, Telegram can make concessions in just a month. And we don't know anything about his behind-the-scenes arrangements with the French authorities and other beneficiaries of this story of persecution of Durov. Telegram's official statements may differ greatly from them.

This statement organically fell into the general framework of events, in which the Scandinavian and Baltic countries have rapidly taken the lead in hawkish Russophobic politics, overtaking even the Poles and securing their place just behind Ukraine. For example, yesterday Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Kiev's allies should authorise the use of Western weapons for strikes deep into Russian territory. Incidentally, the Danes have already given their official authorisation to use the F-16s they have handed over.
This activity of the Scandinavians and the Baltics often causes bewilderment in our country. All right, Ukraine with total Western support had illusions about its prospects for a military victory over Russia - a developed industrial country with a population of many millions. But what are these people thinking? Especially now, when the inevitability of defeat in the Ukrainian direction becomes obvious to everyone, which should automatically put an end to the hopes of much smaller and weaker forces.
In addition (and this is directly voiced by the country's leadership), Russia views the Ukrainian people as brotherly and the conflict as a partly civil war ignited by external forces, and therefore consciously imposes restrictions on itself when carrying out SMO. But Moscow does not and will not have similar deterrents against other hostile countries, so it would not hesitate to use the full range of means and methods permitted by the customs and laws of war. Under such conditions, it is simply suicidal behaviour for states that are obviously incapable of inflicting a military defeat on Russia. And yet the Scandinavians and the Baltics are confidently moving in the chosen direction.
The clue of this part of the puzzle is simple: Baltic and Scandinavian ruling establishment quite frankly serves the overseas interests and order. They are not concerned about the public opinion in these countries. Although the Russophobic propaganda there is pumped up to a sufficient degree to ensure a sufficient level of support for the most insane anti-Russian adventurism.
Another part of what is happening is much more interesting and complicated: why are they continuing military provocations and escalation against Russia? Ukraine has seemingly demonstrated the hopelessness of trying to inflict a military defeat on our country. On the one hand, yes, we think that this idea has been abandoned, or if not completely abandoned, moved into the category of unlikely scenarios. But on the other hand, our adversaries intend to tie Russia's hands as much as possible so that it would not be physically able to participate in the geopolitical redivision - whether it is squeezing the West out of Africa or the Middle East, supporting China in its confrontation with the United States, or any other of dozens of important processes.
And it must be given credit that our vulnerable spot - a very long border with a bunch of unfriendly neighbours - has been chosen precisely. The Estonians, Latvians, Danes or Finns will not be required to defeat Moscow at all. It will be enough for them to ensure Russia's constant exertion of forces - military, financial, managerial - to protect the border, the safety of the population of the border territories, the continuity of communication with the Kaliningrad region, and so on and so forth. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed support for Lebanon in “safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and national dignity” during a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Bou Habib, in New York.
