Fairport Convention – What We Did on Our Holidays (1968-1969)
This record captures #Fairport_Convention at a fascinating turning point by blending 🇺🇸 #AmericanFolkRock influences with emerging 🇬🇧 #BritishfolkRock traditions, while touches of #PsychedelicRock and #ProgressiveFolk give the music a distinctly late-1960s atmosphere.
👩🏼 #Sandy_Denny’s arrival adds a beautiful, #Haunting vocal presence, while the interplay between #Acoustic instruments and #Electric guitars gives the songs both intimacy and energy. The #Traditional material feels timeless, while the #Contemporary songs retain echoes of #Bob_Dylan, #Joni_Mitchell and the American folk-rock scene.
It isn't yet the fully developed British folk-rock sound Fairport would achieve on 💽 1969 - Unhalfbricking and
💽 1969 - Liege & Lief , but that makes it especially interesting. A warm, #adventurous and #atmospheric album that documents the moment Fairport Convention began transforming American-influenced folk-rock into something unmistakably British.

👤 A fable by #Phideaux_Xavier
AutoMoto Animus finds Phideaux still keenly observing the world around him. A collection of mysterious, thought-provoking, and sonically seductive songs, this is neither a radical departure nor a return to familiar ground, but an extension and reinvention. Join the new journey. From the sublime to the absurd, from the poignant to the ironically hilarious, this record will keep you listening closely and tapping your toes. Sometimes even in 4/4.Читать полностью…

💽 1. Complete Rarities: Warner Bros. 1988–2011_ (2014)
This is a fun, fan-focused deep dive—great if you love B-sides and hard-to-find cuts. It’s not always “essential” listening, but it’s a satisfying collection for collectors and longtime fans who want the full story. #Essential for collectors and long-time fans; casual listeners may need a stronger interest in demos, alternates, and overlooked cuts to fully enjoy it.
💽 2. Greatest Hits 1982–2003
A polished, no-fuss overview of REM’s biggest moments. The pacing makes it easy to revisit classics while still feeling like a complete story—from early #JanglePop roots to later, more expansive songwriting. Ideal if you want the essentials without digging through deep cuts.
💽 3. And I Feel Fine... The Best of the I.R.S. Years 1982–1987
This compliation is a great way to hear REM at the point where they were still fast, hungry, and finding their voice. The tracklist captures their early spark—jangly guitars, sharp hooks, and that unmistakable off-kilter charm.
