In the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has spent over $15 million towards paying off former Vice President Kamala Harrisβs presidential campaign expenses, according to a recent report.
Axios reported that in the βfirst six months of 2025,β the DNC has spent over $15 million, which has gone toward paying off Harrisβs presidential campaign expenses.
This comes after the Republican National Committee (RNC) was reported to have had $80 million βon handβ as of the end of June, while the DNC had $15 million, according to Politico.
As a result of the DNC continuing to pay off Harrisβs presidential campaign expenses, Democrats have reportedly started to βpoint fingers at each other.β Democrats have also reportedly βasked Harris and her team to hold more fundraisers and call more donorsβ in an effort to raise more money, per Axios:

That is a weak analogy and the issue in reality is far more complex.
Allow me to explain.
1. If you BUY a flag--ANY FLAG (U.S., gay rainbow, North Korea, the Dallas Cowboys, Cookie Monster, "Don't Give Up the Ship," Cracker Barrel, does not matter)--and you light it on fire in your backyard, and presuming there is no statute against lighting fires of any kind in your backyard: NOT A CRIME.
2. If you STEAL a flag--ANY FLAG (U.S., gay rainbow, North Korea, the Dallas Cowboys, Cookie Monster, "Don't Give Up the Ship," Cracker Barrel, does not matter)--and you light it on fire anyplace: YES A CRIME.
3. If you VANDALIZE a publicly-owned flag--ANY FLAG (U.S., gay rainbow, North Korea, the Dallas Cowboys, Cookie Monster, "Don't Give Up the Ship," Cracker Barrel, does not matter):YES A CRIME.
4. Pfizer has urged a Florida federal judge to dismiss lawsuits claiming its birth control shot Depo-Provera can cause users to develop a type of brain tumor, saying regulators barred the company from including a warning about the tumors on the drugβs label.
The New York-based pharmaceutical company told U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers in Pensacola in a Friday filing that claims the company failed to warn consumers and physicians about the risk of meningiomas associated with the drug were preempted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administrationβs rejection of that warning before the litigation began. The tumors are often benign but can compress brain tissue and require surgery, the plantiffs said in the court filing.
Instead of following a more typical bellwether process to have both sides select cases to test the claims, the judge selected five so-called "pilot" cases to prepare for trial. Pfizer asked the judge to enter judgment for the company in the five cases.

Mississippi has declared a public health emergency after infant deaths in the state surged to their highest level in 15 years.
Latest data showed 323 babies died in the state before their first birthday in 2024, or a death rate of 9.7 fatalities per 1,000 births.
That is up from 8.9 per 1,000 the prior year, and the highest rate since 2009 when the rate was 10.1 per 1,000.
Mississippi has had the worst infant mortality rate in the nation for seven years, and was well above the national average of 5.6 deaths per 1,000 in 2023, the latest national data available.
Health officials are not sure what is driving the uptick but blame a combination of problems transferring expectant mothers between hospitals, limited access to doctors and rural travel times to care.
Most of the state's infant deaths are linked to preterm births, birth defects, low birthweight, birth defects and sudden infant death syndrome, the unexplained sudden death of a baby before their first birthday.
