If you have two brain cells it should be obvious they would next target a prominent leftist, and make it look like retaliation for Charlie...

Have you seen the car chase that TMZ is claiming their staff was cheering for (and not Charlie being slaughtered)?
I realize they are forced to do damage control regardless, because they're snakes and that's what snakes do when they're caught.
But for starters, that's a weird thing to cheer for, right? So right out of the gate things are fishy. That and it's TMZ so whatever they do is automatically little bit fishy anyway.
Then we have the car chase itself. Yes, there was a (as in one) car chase in LA that overlapped with Kirk's event. But that doesn't necessarily let them off the hook.
I say that because anyone who watches the entirely uneventful and uninspired pursuit would agree that it wouldn't even register as a blip on the radar of all the car chases we've seen over the years. And it was certainly not a car chase of a magnitude such that it would elicit such a celebration.

Naval Support Activity Annapolis, working with local law enforcement, is responding to reported threats made against the U.S. Naval Academy.
The base has been placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution while the situation is investigated. Students, staff, and residents are being advised to remain in place until further notice.
Authorities say this remains an active and developing incident.
