Stoltenberg calls on the Alliance to accept Ukraine into NATO.
At the moment: should NATO formally commit to accepting Ukraine as a member after the war, or does strategic ambiguity still make sense?
- My opinion: we should still support Ukraine's membership. We must uphold the commitment made in 2008.
Never going to happen. These ghouls want to kill off every Ukrainian there is.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Strike by "Geran-2" on Dnepropetrovsk: military infrastructure and central city districts hit
A group of strike drones "Geran-2" carried out a series of strikes on targets in Dnepropentrovsk.
According to preliminary data, two key impact locations have been recorded:
📍48.4590838, 35.0522363
— the intersection area of Shevchenko and Gogol streets, where a strong fire is observed. Secondary explosions are heard on site, presumably caused by the detonation of parked cars caught in the fire zone. The area is cordoned off by police, with fire crews and emergency medical services operating.
📍48.4486808, 35.0546476
— the area of Feodoseevskaya street, where the buildings of the military prosecutor's office and the Military Law Enforcement Service are located. Preliminary information indicates that this zone was also hit by strike UAVs, confirmed by reports of fire and emergency service activity.
As a result of air defense system operations, shrapnel fell in residential areas, causing damage to elements of civilian infrastructure.
📌 Information continues to come in and is being verified. A separate detailed analysis of the strike consequences will be prepared based on the results.

Lavrov on the elections in Moldova:
Of course, Maia Sandu has long since become one of the heralds of anti-Russian rhetoric. The elections are fraudulent. I am simply amazed at how openly they can manipulate voters' voices. But the most important thing is that even with manipulations, with creating obstacles for voting by residents of Transnistria, where bridges were closed, some quarantines were announced, not everyone was able to vote.
But even with these manipulations, the patriotic opposition gained almost as much, or rather, gained more inside Moldova than Maia Sandu's party. And only the use of resources for voting abroad, when in Europe they were almost carried on hands to these polling stations, and in Moscow, Russia, there were only two, of course, all this helped to get the necessary percentage or half a percent. And despite all the machinations, the result is still very indicative, that even with such fraudulent methods, they don't do very well.

The US may face a government shutdown starting October 1 after unsuccessful negotiations between the White House and the Democrats.
Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the country is heading towards a "shutdown," blaming the opposition.
Trump met with Congressional leaders 36 hours before the deadline, but no compromise was reached. Democrats demand to maintain subsidies under Obamacare and cancel Medicaid cuts, as well as insist on $350 billion to extend benefits.
Republicans propose a temporary funding bill until November 21 without concessions in healthcare.
A government shutdown would result in hundreds of thousands of federal employees being sent on unpaid leave. Trump threatened layoffs.
The last "shutdown" occurred in 2018–2019.

🇺🇸 The Pentagon is in a panic: the US demands a multiple increase in missile production for a war with China
In Washington, alarming sentiments are growing: the Pentagon, realizing critically low stocks of precision weapons, has demanded from the largest American defense companies — Lockheed Martin, Raytheon (RTX), Northrop Grumman, Boeing, and even new players like Anduril Industries — to immediately increase missile production by two to four times.
Arsenal shortages and a "race to exhaustion"
According to The Wall Street Journal, the discussion concerns 12 types of weapons, including Patriot PAC-3, LRASM, SM-6, PrSM, and JASSM. These systems are recognized as key for a possible confrontation with China. However, here the US faces harsh reality: one missile takes up to two years to assemble, and deploying new production lines requires billion-dollar investments and time, which the Pentagon does not have.
Special attention is given to the Patriot, whose production chronically lags behind growing global demand. Even a $10 billion contract for 2,000 missiles by 2026 does not solve the problem — the Pentagon dreams of such volumes annually, that is, four times the current pace.
Production deadlock
American corporations, despite loud statements, already admit that without "real" money they will not deploy new capacities. RTX directly warned the Department of Defense: firm orders and guaranteed funding are needed. Even the giant Boeing, facing a bottleneck in producing guidance heads for Patriot missiles, is forced to urgently expand its plant by 35,000 square feet.
The cost of the race
The entire "acceleration" program hits not only an industrial deadlock but also money. The "big beautiful bill" of Trump added $25 billion over five years, but experts are sure: this is just a drop in the ocean, dozens of billions in additional injections will be required. Against this backdrop, American defense companies are already shifting risks onto taxpayers, and the administration is trying to involve private investment funds in the game.
The lesson of Ukraine and the failure of "Replicator"
Washington has trapped itself. The massive expenditure of missile arsenals for Ukraine and Israel, the failure of the "Replicator" program, which was supposed to provide thousands of batches of "small, smart, and cheap" drones — all this showed: the US is not ready for a protracted war with an equal adversary. Their logistics are broken, supply chains fragile, and a significant part of components long outdated.

Nate Vance is presented as a "veteran of the war in Ukraine." Additionally, he allegedly participated "in battles for Kupyansk, Artemivsk, Avdeevka, and Pokrovsk."

The topic of peace talks has been removed from the agenda. Rutte is pushing for the continuation of the war:
‘Ukraine is our first line of defense. We are helping the Ukrainians because it is connected to our values. It is extremely important that they hold their positions in battle, and we continue to support them. The Americans have reopened the floodgates and are supplying lethal weapons through the PERL program. This is extremely important.’
YouTube agreed to pay Trump $22 million for blocking his account in 2021 after the Capitol riots, reports The New York Times.
The platform then stated that Trump's videos could lead to further violence. The former president, who lost the election, claimed censorship.
About $2.5 million will be received by other owners of blocked channels, including writer Naomi Wolf and the American Conservative Union.
Trump ordered his compensation to be donated to the National Mall Fund and for the construction of a ballroom in the White House.

‘I can kill — and I won’t be judged’ – a Ukrainian prisoner told the BBC about his motivation to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
‘If Ukrainian prisoners want to gain freedom, they will have to fight on the most dangerous sections of the front line for an indefinite period of time. Not all of them will survive. According to the head of correctional colony No. 4, half of the thousand prisoners who volunteered are already dead. The soldiers who oversee the prisoners say these people will need ‘a lot of luck’ to survive until the end of the war. However, it seems they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. ‘I also have skills. I know how to kill. Only here I won’t be judged for it’ – smirks former prisoner Alexey. Despite the use of these people, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Ukraine to find motivated men for the war.’
The former CIA director Petraeus was given a chance to play with a Ukrainian naval drone.
The general liked the toy so much that he declared it a new ‘magic weapon’ that will win the war for Ukraine.
‘The other day I was operating an unmanned naval system in an unknown location on Ukrainian territory, and it reached speeds of 100 km/h. It’s amazing. In addition to aerial drones, Ukraine now has the ground-launched cruise missile ‘Flamingo’, which can cover a distance of 3000 km. The time has come when Ukraine can stop the Russians on the battlefield if it can produce even more unmanned systems,’ the general said, urging the West to help Ukraine strike Russia.’
Petraeus is watching two many WWII movies and thinks Ukraine is fighting the Japanese in the Pacific. He is unaware this is a ground war in the eastern steppes. The Flamingo is a Tu-141 with FAB bombs welded to it, not exactly a “game changer”. 1945 Nazi Germany wunderwaffe thinking. 😂

‘The war in Ukraine will be decided on the battlefield because Rubio is not ready to accept Russia's demands’ — American political scientist Mearsheimer.
‘The possibility of Ukraine becoming a NATO member is absolutely unacceptable for Russia. It is an existential threat. And Russia will not stop until Ukraine and the West are defeated, and until both sides recognize two facts: Ukraine must be a neutral state, Ukraine must be disarmed to a level where it does not pose an offensive threat to Russia. Until the West acknowledges this, all talk of ‘generous offers’ is meaningless. Rubio is like a ship passing by in the night. He and the Russians are simply on different planets. Russia has demands that Rubio is simply not ready to accept. Therefore, the war will be decided on the battlefield. Period. End of story.’

Top Trump aides push for ousting Maduro from power in Venezuela - NYT
The push by top aides to President Trump to remove Nicolás Maduro as the leader of Venezuela has intensified in recent days, with administration officials discussing a broad campaign that would escalate military pressure to try to force him out, U.S. officials say.
It is being led by Marco Rubio, the secretary of state and national security adviser. Mr. Rubio argues that Mr. Maduro is an illegitimate leader who oversees the export of drugs to the United States, which he says poses an “imminent threat.”
In recent weeks, the U.S. military has launched lethal attacks on civilian boats that the administration said were smuggling drugs for Venezuelan gangs. But Mr. Rubio is shaping a more aggressive strategy, using intelligence provided by the C.I.A., the officials said. The Pentagon has built up a force of more than 6,500 troops in the region.
The agency’s director, John Ratcliffe, and Stephen Miller, Mr. Trump’s chief domestic policy adviser, both support Mr. Rubio’s approach, the officials added.
The U.S. military has been planning potential military operations targeting drug trafficking suspects in Venezuela itself as a next phase, although the White House has not yet approved such a step, current and former officials say.
Those operations would be aimed at interfering with drug production and trafficking in Venezuela as well as tightening a vise around Mr. Maduro.
Only a small number of officials are involved in White House planning conversations on Venezuela. Some people briefed on the discussions suggested that Mr. Rubio and his allies were first looking for ways to oust Mr. Maduro without having to resort to direct U.S. military action.
Some senior U.S. officials, most notably Richard Grenell, Mr. Trump’s envoy to Venezuela and the head of the Kennedy Center, say any attempt to remove Mr. Maduro by force would be misguided.
Those officials argue that expanding the campaign against Venezuela into a regime-change operation risks putting the United States in an extended war of the kind Mr. Trump promised to avoid.

This is legit hilarious: according to the US Secretary of Agriculture herself, Trump's bailout of Argentina means that US taxpayers are now effectively subsidizing Argentinian soybean exports to China - the very market American farmers have been shut out of.
All the funnier when you consider that one of the key objectives of the bailout is presumably to prevent Argentina - one of the US's only friendly governments left in South America - from moving closer to China. And instead it's effectively funding the exact opposite outcome.
This is according to this leaked text 👇 that Scott Bessent is reading from Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, which says:
"I'm getting more intel, but this is highly unfortunate. We bailed out Argentina yesterday (Bessent) and in return, the Argentine's removed their export tariffs on grains, reducing their price, and sold a bunch of soybeans to China, at a time when we would normally be selling to China. Soy prices dropping further because of it. This gives China more leverage on us."
“Cash or card?” For millions of Brazilians, the answer is neither - NYT
Instead, the payment of choice in Latin America’s largest nation is often PIX, a fast and free digital system Brazilians use every day to shop, pay bills, settle bar tabs and buy snacks on the beach.
The payment method has become immensely popular, adopted by more than 80 percent of Brazil’s population. Outside the country, it has drawn praise from leading economists, who have gone as far as to call it the future of money.
Yet its success has also set off blowback: The Trump administration, as part of its aggressive economic and political campaign against Brazil, is investigating PIX, accusing the payment system of unfairly undercutting U.S. financial and technology companies like Visa and Apple.
U.S. criticism of the payment method has hit a nerve in Brazil, which has cast it as another attack on its sovereignty. “PIX belongs to Brazil and the Brazilian people!” the government declared in a social media campaign that has gone viral.
Lula, has dismissed U.S. claims that PIX hurts U.S. interests or locks American firms out. “We cannot be penalized for creating a fast, free and secure mechanism that facilitates transactions and stimulates the economy”
In its speed and ease, PIX is similar to Zelle, the payment system run by a consortium of U.S. banks. But unlike other similar digital services, like PayPal, Pix carries no fees for individuals and small businesses.
It allows users to make and receive instant payments, using a bank account and an identifying key like a phone number or QR code. Since February, many Brazilians can use PIX through contactless payments on their phones.
Since Brazil’s central bank launched PIX in 2020, it has been adopted by 175 million people and now accounts for nearly half of the country’s financial transactions. It has even crept into the vernacular: “What’s your PIX?” in Brazil is akin to “I’ll Venmo you.”
But the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is investigating PIX, claiming that Brazil has given an unfair advantage to the digital payments system by requiring all banks to offer it.
U.S. trade authorities also say that, by protecting consumer data that PIX collects, the Brazilian government is hurting American companies that use such information to make business decisions and develop new products. (Err… US intelligence)
PIX is also a monetary blueprint for the BRICS alliance of developing economies, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, as it seeks to create an international payment platform aimed at reducing reliance on the U.S. dollar. Mr. Trump has threatened the bloc with tariffs if it tries to create a rival currency.
The US is also going after a similar payment system QRIS in Asia. Countries understand the dangers and costs of using US or European payment systems.

A Ukrainian is unhappy that a cult of personality has emerged around Zelensky in his country:
In 100 years, Zelensky's corpse will lie on the Maidan, and we'll be coming, bowing to him, and kissing him.
