Zimovsky’s analysis is flawed.
We can ignore his casualty calculations as a byproduct of bad data.
Russian casualty rates have dropped from the spike that took place at the outset, and the period of the Wagner assaults around Bakhmut.
The war is fought on the basis of an attritional model where the infliction of enemy casualties and the minimization of friendly casualties are imperatives.
One would say it takes far more tactical and operational skill to implement this model than the maneuver-specific models seemingly favored by Zimovsky.
The key here isn’t that this model of attrition be extended artificially by linking it to a territorial paradigm; this model is about sustainability of resources, the exhaustion of one side’s ability to continue the fight.
This is strategic thinking.
Russia can sustain this model for the foreseeable future.
Ukraine cannot.
Which is why almost all observers of the conflict concede that Russia is prevailing in dominant fashion.

TRUMP IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS A GLOBAL DEFICIT IN LEADERSHIP
Russia and China have made a point of not wanting to challenge the US in terms of global hegemony.
Instead, they opted to wait for the US to succumb to emerging geopolitical realities that would have the US downsize voluntarily.
In the process, a global leadership vacuum emerged.
Trump has broken with expectations regarding the downward spiral of American power, and instead is moving to fill this vacuum forcefully.
There is a method to his madness.
This doesn’t make it right.
But it does create the opportunity for the US to once again flex its muscles in a world where countervailing potential has largely atrophied.
The question is who, if anyone, will push back on the global stage?
BRICS is not mature enough.
America’s allies are too beholden and besotted to mount any viable pushback.
Which leaves Russia and China, neither of which are prepared to act decisively on the global stage.
This creates maneuver room for audacious and outrageous policy initiatives, of which Gaza is but the most recent incarnation.

UKRAINE’S ENDGAME PHASE
The situation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the prospect for a negotiated peace literally defines the term “fluid.” Positions that were once seen as carved in stone have vanished, and relationships that were deemed rock solid have crumbled. The winds of change that have swept through US domestic politics under President Donald Trump, leaving chaos in their wake, have shifted to foreign shores, with no less disruptive an impact. The trans-Atlantic relationship between the US and Nato, once described as a “sacred bond” by former President Joe Biden, is teetering, as the foundation of a common cause that historically held it together erodes with changing US priorities. Amid this geopolitical anarchy, Ukraine, which once had the full support of the collective West, is left confronting the Russian forces that invaded and occupied its land. Western support is now very much in question, with the US realigning its strategic priorities in a manner that appears to favor Russia, and Europe is scrambling to respond. The ability of Ukraine to continue to resist the Russian military under these conditions is also in question. The key question is no longer whether Ukraine can be positioned to defeat Russia, but rather what Ukraine will look like after a peace agreement.

A GAME OF DRONES
Death during wartime is usually a very personal experience—a moment of pain, usually preceded by fear, followed up by darkness.
The anonymity of the bullet, grenade or artillery shell is a constant reality, leaving bodies littered on the battlefield to be collected afterwards by those fortunate enough to have survived.
On rare occasion, news photographers and videographers who are brave enough to venture forth into the killing fields can capture death as it occurs—grainy images showing bodies from a distance crumple to the ground, a scene of tragic finality which is oddly impersonal given the intimacy of the action.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict, however, has provided an entirely new way to witness death, live on your computer screen, a first person view of the taking of human life as it occurs. These video images appear torn from a computer, a first-person shooter format those familiar with games such as Call of Duty.

The Russia House is a collaboration between myself and Alexandra Madornaya, a long-time senior administrator of my Telegram channel.
The Russia House with Scott Ritter represents a continuation of the important work of helping overcome the Russophobia that exists in the United States and the West which serves as an impediment to the furthering of better relations between Russia and the West. Its success, of course, hinges on the quality of the product published as part of this project. But quality production does not happen in a vacuum, and the sustainability of The Russia House will ultimately depend upon the creation and sustainment of a viable subscription base.

This is what happens when you let 9 million Zionists dictate the terms of coexistence to 473 million Arabs.
If the Arab world won’t defend the Palestinian’s right to a homeland, this is what happens.
When Abu Mazen criticizes Hamas, this is what happens.
This is what happens when 2 million Gazans put the Arab world to shame by resisting Israeli genocide for 15 months.
Egypt could say “no”.
Jordan could say “no”.

BRINGING OUT THE DEAD
When societies lie about death, the deception leads to the collapse of the very cause they purport to support.
Accounting for the dead is one of society’s most important functions—it brings closure to the cycle of life, creating a sense of purpose and belonging essential to the normal functioning of families and communities. The dead were people with names and histories which those close to them would mourn and remember. But when the death toll becomes unmanageable, the names and histories of the departed are forgotten as the normal rituals associated with human death are brushed aside in favor of the exigencies of mass burials.
