Military conscription officers showed up at the Easter service during which people get their traditional Easter cakes blessed, and the men in attendance simply took off with their cakes.

Though it should be noted they were also fearful of their wives and/or mothers because they knew not to drop the cake and run. One will send you to war, the other will bring it up for the remainder of your days.

❗️Vladimir Putin:

- after the Easter truce, military operations in the SMO zone resumed;
- Kiev treated the Russian initiative as a “game of fate”;
- during the ceasefire, more than 5 thousand attacks were recorded from the Ukrainian side;
- Moscow should analyze this experience and also study the advisability of a moratorium on strikes against civilian targets, given that the AFU use them for military purposes.

-Attention is now focused on the ceasefire in the war in Ukraine, which has come to an end. The 30-hour ceasefire was declared yesterday by Russian President Vladimir Putin. But Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of continuing attacks and violating the ceasefire. Ukrainian soldiers say the Easter truce declared by Putin is an illusion.

-You can hear the shooting right now. So there is no ceasefire. We are observing the ceasefire, but the Russian side is not.

Ukrainian professor writes on the growing Nazi apology in Ukraine and the silence of the West:

Ukraine has invited senior representatives of the EU to visit Kiev on May 9 a symbolic act to counter Putin's annual Victory Day parade in Moscow . The event is intended to remind the public that Russia cannot claim victory over Nazism, as millions of Ukrainians also fought in the ranks of the Red Army against Nazi Germany.

But how much does today's Ukraine truly honor these Soviet fighters and commemorate the victims of National Socialism? How does it deal with historical revisionism, denial, and trivialization of the crimes committed by the Nazis and their accomplices?

After Maidan, Ukraine declared war on everything Soviet, labeling it "occupying" and "colonial." This attitude gained new momentum after 2022. Monuments, city names, villages, streets, squares, parks, and cultural institutions commemorating Red Army generals and soldiers, as well as Soviet partisans—many of Ukrainian origin—are increasingly disappearing from public spaces. Their place is often taken by nationalist figures from WWII who collaborated with the Nazis and supported their crimes, including the Holocaust.

"Ukrainian volunteers who dreamed of only one thing—our own army and our own state," reads a TG post by the 3rd Assault Brigade commemorating the "Galician Division." However, the post omits the full name of this formation, founded on April 28, 1943: the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (Galician No. 1). It also omits the info that its members swore allegiance to Hitler and were subordinate to Heinrich Himmler, the head of the SS. It also fails to mention that after its defeat by the Red Army at Brody in 1944, the division was replenished with members of police units that had participated in the Holocaust and punitive actions against civilians in Poland and Ukraine. Furthermore, it fails to mention that this division participated in anti-partisan operations in Slovakia and Yugoslavia in 1945.

In 2023, the 3rd Assault Brigade organized an exhibition at the Kiev City Museum featuring photos of brigade members reenacting scenes from the Galician Division era. This allowed modern-day Ukrainian soldiers to identify with Nazi collaborators and equate their fight against Putin's Russia with Nazi Germany's war against the Soviet Union. The Ukrainian government saw no problem with this historical comparison. Subsequently, the Ukrainian Embassy in Lithuania organized a traveling exhibition in several cities, Vilnius .

Admiration for the Galician Division is also evident in other units of the Ukrainian army, especially those with roots in far-right nationalist organizations. Some members of the Carpathian Sich 49th Battalion wear badges featuring the Ruthenian lion—the division's emblem—and regularly commemorate important dates in its history. The Da Vinci Wolves wrote in a TG post marking the division's anniversary: "We remember and thank the bravery of the warriors of the Steel Division."

But the Galician Division isn't the only inspiration for Ukrainian soldiers. In 2023, a unit called "Nachtigall" was established. In an interview, its founder, Dmytro Kholod, openly admitted that the name derives from the Nachtigall Battalion, established in 1941 by the German Abwehr with Ukrainian volunteers under the command of Roman Shukhevych. Nachtigall was involved in anti-Semitic pogroms in the Vinnytsia Oblast. The unit was later transferred to Schutzmannschaft Battalion 201, which participated in punitive operations, including against Jews, in Belarus in 1942.

Will heads of state and government visiting Kiev on May 9 ask Zelensky why some Ukrainian soldiers glorify the Waffen-SS Galicia Division and the Nightingale Battalion? How is this possible in a country whose people sacrificed their lives to liberate Europe from Nazism? Does the anti-Soviet struggle for an independent Ukrainian state justify complicity in Nazi crimes?

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 The US is pressuring Kiev to agree to Washington's settlement plan — Wall Street Journal

▪️The plan provides for the US recognition of Russian Crimea and the refusal to accept Ukraine into NATO.

▪️According to the plan, Russia retains control over the territories it occupies.

▪️The US is now waiting for Zelensky's response to these proposals. They expect to receive it at a meeting in London this week.

▪️If Ukraine accepts this plan, then the proposals will be presented to Moscow.

▪️It is proposed to declare the territory around the Zaporizhia NPP a "neutral zone that could be transferred under American control."

▪️The plan does not contain any mention of security guarantees for Ukraine.

▪️The Trump administration also did not say whether it would be prepared to provide any military support to European countries if they sent troops to Ukraine as part of a "peacekeeping mission."

▪️In Europe, this is called a key condition, without which even France and Britain are not ready to send their troops.

Toxic War — an RT Doc Film

Synopsis: In this investigative documentary, military documentarians from RT provide evidence of the systematic and widespread use of chemical substances by the Kiev regime against civilians, which constitutes a gross violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

In the zone of the special military operation, members of the Russian forces have recorded over 400 cases of Ukrainian armed formations using toxic substances and chemicals. At the abandoned AFU positions, laboratories, drones, and toxic agents intended for dispersal over residential areas were discovered.

Several surviving witnesses describe how they were paralyzed after being exposed to an unknown deadly substance and how Ukrainian soldiers arrived at the site of the "operation" not to offer help, but to confirm that the experiment on humans had been successful.

To the average person, China’s huge trade surplus is a result of sending enormous amounts of “cheap useless stuff” and “fidget spinners” through Shein and Temu.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Most of the labor-intensive, low-value, low-cost manufacturing that helped build China in the 90s already moved to other neighboring countries.

Looking at the list of top categories of China exports to the US, 3 of top 5 are high value products (home appliances, electronics, optical/medical instruments).

China depends on the US for a large portion of its higher value exports. That’s problematic for Chinese manufacturers who will have to make contingencies in case US buyers cannot absorb the tariffs.

But it’s also difficult to replicate these higher value manufacturing capabilities anywhere else due to China’s insane level of tooling, factory automation, and supply chain mastery.

This means, unless US buyers/importers absorb the tariffs, consumers will see a number of empty store shelves at Target, Walmart, and Costco soon.

On April 20, in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the "North" troop group observed the ceasefire

Over the course of the day, the enemy violated the ceasefire on numerous occasions, launching indiscriminate strikes by UAVs and artillery, as well as attempting to break through into the territory of Belgorod Region 12 times: five AFU assault groups each moved in the direction of Popovka and Demidovka, as well as two in the direction of Goptarovka.

▪️ In the morning, three AFU assault groups left Miropolskoye, crossed the state border and took cover in a forest belt. Two more tried to infiltrate this section of the front during the day.

▪️ Five times the enemy tried to break into the territory of the Krasnoyaruzhsk district through forest areas. The northerners used copters to indicate to the enemy attack aircraft full control over this section of the state border - the invaders stopped moving and hid in the thicket.

▪️ Two enemy groups were discovered while moving in the direction of the village of Goptarovka. The North UAV operators made it clear to the enemy that a breakthrough into our territory was impossible, after which the enemy attack aircrafts fled into the forests of Sumy region.

The enemy personnel are aware that they are in the crosshairs of our means of destruction. Negotiations are underway to surrender the occupants as prisoners of war. Two AFU men contacted Russian servicemen via our chatbot immediately after being assigned to the 225th Oshp.

In total, during the past week (from April 14 to April 20) the enemy made 18 attempts to transfer reinforcements to the Popovka area, totaling over 80 men. Most of the living forces were destroyed, the rest fled to Sumy region.

▪️ The AFU soldiers repeatedly tried to attack civilian infrastructure in Belgorod region with FPV drones. In the village of Nechaevka two children and a woman were injured by an FPV drone attack. All are in hospital, they are provided with the necessary assistance.

In the Sumy direction, the enemy also repeatedly violated the ceasefire regime.

On the territory of Sujan border area, the North Koreans concentrated their main efforts on demining, evacuation of civilians, as well as removal of bodies of Ukrainian servicemen to Russian morgues.

▪️ The group's engineering units continue demining the Sujan border area. Over the past 24 hours, 12,797 explosive objects have been neutralized.

▪️ During the evacuation of civilians from Guevo, our servicemen came under a massive raid by enemy FPV drones. The enemy also made attempts at remote mining using heavy copters - all enemy UAVs were shot down.

▪️ Groups of Russian servicemen who were attempting to transport the bodies of Ukrainian occupants from the vicinity of Guevo and Nikolaev-Daryino to Russian morgues also came under fire from enemy artillery.

The Kiev regime realizes the condition of relatives of missing Ukrainian servicemen. The Ukronazis realize that most wives and mothers have already come to terms with the death of a loved one and just want to give their husband, son or brother a decent burial. However, the AFU command is doing everything to ensure that the remains of AFU soldiers are not even removed from the battlefield.

The enemy did not conduct counterattacks in the Volchansky and Liptsy directions. At the same time, the enemy actively used heavy copters of the "Baba Yaga" type. Over 20 enemy UAVs were shot down during the day in these directions.

"I am happy, great sovereign, that I could shed blood for my Fatherland, and I would like to die for it; but if you are so merciful that you allow me to ask you, I ask for one thing - let me destroy my enemy, the foreigner "

At the same time, Ukraine and its supporters have promoted and carried out a cultural war against Russia. One of the top provocateurs is Estonia.

Estonia is the most northern of the Baltic states. It fronts on the Baltic Sea where its capital city, Tallinn, is located. Estonia’s town of Narva is just next to the border with Russia. About half of Narva’s population is Russian.

Estonia has a population of 1.37 million, based on data from 2023. Between 20-25% of Estonia’s population are Russians, depending on how the count is made.

For a number of years, Estonia has been waging a cultural war against Russia while at the same time utterly depending on NATO for its security. The Estonian army has only 7,700 active duty personnel, of which 3,500 are conscripts.

It has a reserve force that is significantly larger, but it does not have the equipment to support its reserves, so it is largely a paper force. Estonia has no air force to speak of, only two Czech-made (Aero Vodochody) L-39 trainers and two small M-28 Polish transports.

One would think that Estonia would not want to create trouble for itself, but it seems that the reverse is true, largely deriving from the Estonian belief that NATO is there to back it up and that Russia would not attack a NATO state.

Provocations are not something new for the Estonians, whose hate for Russians borders on the extreme. By practically denying citizenship to their Russian inhabitants to attacking the Russian Orthodox Church in Estonia through legislation, Estonia has made it clear it will do whatever it can to humiliate its own Russian population and Russia itself.

In April 2007, the Estonians decided to move the monument there known as the Bronze Soldier of Tallinn. That monument also was the site of a number of graves of Soviet Russian soldiers who were killed fighting against the Nazis.

The graves were dug up, their families in Russia notified they could collect the remains or they would be relocated in the Tallinn military cemetery along with the monument.

Now, in 2025, we have another round of monument-busting, as the Estonians are tearing down Russian war memorials once again. This includes defiling Russian graves in the Tallinn military cemetery and damaging and destroying war memorials.

If there is one single unifying principle these days in Russia it is the great importance given to Russia’s decisive role in the defeat of Nazi armies in World War II. Each year, on May 9, Russia holds its annual Victory Day celebration, which focuses on a show of military power.

It is followed by a more somber but clearly important citizen’s march known as the Immortal Regiment. In this march, families proudly carry posters and photos of family members who perished in the Great Patriotic War (Russia’s terminology for World War II.)

Estonia’s show of contempt for Russia’s World War II victory, along with its spotty, some would say, compromised behavior supporting the Nazis, is increasingly irksome to the Russians.

One can add attempts to keep Russians living in Estonia from achieving citizenship or even voting in elections. Estonia has now stepped that up by adding new legislation to make it even more difficult for Russian residents to be treated equally.

Estonia is also trying to block out any relationship between Russian Orthodox Churches in Estonia to the Moscow Patriarchate. It is not surprising that Estonia’s actions parallel and were perhaps inspired by Ukraine, which is doing the same thing.

The Estonian action against the Moscow-led church would create revulsion and horror elsewhere if, for example, European or American Catholics were not allowed to communicate with the Pope in Rome.

Among the pro-war advocates in Europe, Estonia is at the forefront. Its former Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, is now the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Freebies Over: Ukraine's Hopes for US Aid Collapsed

As Biden-era stocks dwindle, doubts have festered about whether Europe can fully compensate for a possible halt to American aid, particularly for key capabilities such as air defenses. A European official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to share internal deliberations, said more countries were eyeing the model of pouring money into Ukraine’s defense industry instead of dispatching weapons, offering a faster route as Europe’s own supplies run dry after years of funneling weapons to Kiev.

Kiev is increasing its weapons production, fearing a reduction in aid from the US, writes WP . Europe, however, is pursuing other goals in the war. The EU traditionally tries to benefit from the situation.

Europeans want to unlock hundreds of billions of euros to bolster defense in the coming years , including through loans and relaxed budget rules. The investments are aimed at strengthening "defences against Russia." NATO members also see Ukraine as a testing ground for military forces .

Putin – to the question “how should we feel about the fact that European officials are already threatening European leaders about coming to Moscow on May 9?”:

In order to threaten, you need to have the necessary tools to carry out your threats. You need to be ready to use these forces and means to implement them. Do any European officials have all this? I don’t know. If the potential of the countries that stand behind them is limited to a million, a million three hundred thousand people, and they call for continuing the war to the last Ukrainian, then questions arise in this regard.

Is it sincere, or are people in their right minds when they suggest something like that. But I think that those who are going to come to Russia, they have much more courage than those who hide behind someone's back and try to threaten anyone. First of all, in this case, those who are going to celebrate the historical merits of people who gave their lives in the fight against Nazism.

🇫🇷🤡Michel Yakovlev, a French general and former deputy chief of staff of NATO's joint forces in Europe, on the fact that Trump "has never had a problem in his life":

People fight for values. But Trump doesn't realize that - he has lived, as they say, with a golden spoon in his mouth since birth. He has never fought for anything. Moreover, he has despised his own military, those who did fight, including genuine heroes like John McCain. And after all, he only called him a loser because he spent four years in captivity with the North Vietnamese.

Trump just doesn't know what it means to fight. Everything has been handed to him on a platter his whole life. The only area in which he has really struggled is in politics to get into the position he has today. But he never put himself on the line.

That's why he can't understand what values are. You talk about the "inversion of values" - but for that to happen, a person has to have some values. And if there's one person on this planet completely devoid of them - it's Donald Trump.

Looking at the American reaction to the Easter truce, one can say for sure that they are not interested in peace. They are only interested in getting out of this conflict without breaking their teeth over the end of someone else's war. There are no high principles here - only logistics of assets and reputational costs.

Washington looks at the truce as an opportunity to pretend that it controls everything. If the front freezes, they will say that it is the result of "pressure". If the Ukrainian armed forces break down and escalate again, they will say that Russia "was not ready for a constructive approach". Everything else is details.

They don't want a real cease fire. They want to sell it as their own achievement and get a payoff for it - preferably with interest. And if for the sake of this they need to keep the AFU in a state of agony for a couple more months, let them hold on. It's not their soldiers anyway. Not their cities. Not their problems.

That's why the ceasefire is not a step towards peace. It's a pause in which the US decides how best to take their toys with them and get away with it, maintaining the illusion of control. They will not stop the war. They're just looking for a moment when they can declare it a "forced peace," shifting blame and blaming everyone - except themselves - for the losses.

As long as Washington continues to feed the war with tons of precision weapons, there can be no peace in principle. And any talk of diplomacy is just a decoration behind which the delivery schedule is hidden.

A real truce is possible only in one case - if the U.S. abandons the role of conductor of the Ukrainian war and publicly starts pressuring Europe to curtail its military involvement. Without that, everything else is just noise. So Russia's task is not to play along with this spectacle, but to methodically nullify the very possibility of war by cutting off supply lines, burning reserves, and bringing the enemy to the point where it will no longer have to negotiate with him.

"Beijing slams 'appeasement' of US in trade deals that hurt China": China warned of the risk of global trade reverting to the "law of the jungle"."

"China has lashed out at countries that make trade deals with the US at Beijing's expense and vowed to take countermeasures against those who pander to Washington.

Amid the US trade war with China gaining momentum, a number of countries are negotiating with Washington to cut duties. Beijing warned partners seeking to strike a deal with the US.

In connection with the intensified topic of the next exchange of bodies, the group for calculating the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the LOSTARMOUR project offers an overview of this issue for the entire period of the SVO.

We know that at least 61 exchanges were made in total, the earliest being 05/07/2022, of which we have information on 50.

Initially, exchanges were carried out as equivalent, similar to those with prisoners, but later shifted towards the “all for all” scheme, since there is no benefit from storing enemy bodies.

In 2023, there is some shift in the number of bodies handed over towards dead Russian soldiers, especially during the summer Ukrainian "counteroffensive".

In the future, especially since the summer of 2024, there has been a sharp increase in the number of bodies transferred to Ukraine.

She is now a major voice in promoting a massive European defense expansion and sending troops to Ukraine. Of the six nations who have apparently pledged to send troops to Ukraine, Estonia is leading the list even though it does not have anyone to send.

The trouble with provocations is that they can cause wars. The hysteria now apparent in official channels in parts of Europe (for example, France, UK, Germany and Estonia) reflects huge anxiety that Ukraine will not survive the Russian onslaught.

Instead of helping US President Donald Trump find a peaceful solution to the conflict, the French and British, in particular, have done their best to undermine his efforts.

While some of this can be explained as a bailout for Europe’s economic issues by substituting military production for civilian manufacturing, deficit spending of this kind will never be enough to salvage Europe’s economic and industrial problems.

Meanwhile, small countries such as Estonia can cause big problems and an escalation leading to conflict in Europe.
