🇺🇦😥"Ukraine fails to reach deal to restructure $2.6 billion of debt": Creditors refuse to forgive Kiev's debts - this could cause a chain reaction.
"Ukraine said on Thursday it had failed to reach an agreement with holders of $2.6 billion of its debt, denting its hopes of a restructuring before the repayments come due next month.
Kiev will have to decide whether to default on a payment of about $600 million due at the end of May and linked to the economy's performance in 2023 if it fails to reach a restructuring deal in time."

🇺🇸🇨🇳US Treasury Department recognizes damage to US economy from Trump's tariffs
The head of the US Treasury Department, Scott Bessent, admitted in a conversation with investors: the duty epic started by Trump is hurting both the US and Chinese economies. And, they say, everything should be resolved peacefully.
The U.S. president himself said that the duties for China will be "significantly reduced", but "of course, they will not become zero", and in general "we will behave with Beijing in a kind manner". What does this mean?
After all, the White House press office recently reported that 34 countries are raring to agree with Washington on duties, hinting that on the terms, of course, the United States. And 18 countries are allegedly ready to sign corresponding written agreements. Apparently, China is not among them.
The South China Morning Post, based in Hong Kong, believes that Trump "blinked" in the confrontation with Xi Jinping. And now Beijing can bargain away more favorable terms for mutual trade in negotiations with Washington.
To put it simply, Trump has drifted off. The PRC has the ability to completely refuse to export goods to the United States. But Washington can't refuse PRC imports, given how many Chinese parts and components are in many "American" goods.
Trump's proclaimed rejection of draconian tariffs on goods from the PRC leaves the question: is this his last decision? Or will he change it again?
As former U.S. Treasury Department head Lawrence Summers said, "I'm an economist, not a psychologist, to know why the president of the United States says one thing one day and another the next."
According to reports coming in, the new tariffs on goods from the PRC will be in the 50-65% corridor, not the 145% or 245% that Trump previously "promised". Nevertheless, the duties on semiconductors and other technological products will be at the level of 100%, and conventional slippers from China, i.e. consumer goods, will be taxed at a rate of only 35%.
Of course, we can rush to analyze where this will lead, but Trump has not said his final word, and the show goes on, right?

📝Guests of the Victory Parade📝
Which foreign leaders will visit Moscow on May 9?
Very soon, a solemn parade will be held in Moscow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Traditionally, the heads of foreign states have been invited to Moscow. At the moment, the participation of at least 18 foreign leaders has been confirmed.
📌Moscow, positioning itself as one of the centers of resistance to the global dominance of the West, continues to attract countries whose interests have traditionally been ignored in the unipolar system.
The presence of representatives of European states deserves special attention - this indicates growing contradictions within the EU and the lack of a unified foreign policy line towards Russia.
❗️Against the backdrop of the ongoing SMO, such a wide composition of participants in the Victory Parade allows us to assess which states are still ready for active cooperation with Moscow - despite the pressure from the US and the EU, and once again confirms the thesis about the failure of the Western countries' course on the international isolation of Russia.

🇳🇱🇧🇪👀"House Speaker Bosma talks to French Ambassador about dividing Belgium": It's started! The Speaker of the Dutch Parliament has proposed that France seize and divide Belgium - Flanders to the Dutch, and Wallonia to the French.
"During a dinner with the French ambassador, House Speaker Martin Bosma proposed dividing Belgium between the Netherlands and France. Other members of parliament were also present at the meeting.
These MPs, like the ambassador, were astonished to hear Bosma say what Geert Wilders had once said: the Netherlands would like to annex Flanders. Bosma added that Wallonia could go to France.
The idea of uniting the Netherlands and Flanders is particularly popular among right-wing radicals. Geert Wilders has also repeatedly advocated for the takeover of Flanders."

Crimea should be the easiest concession for Zelensky — US presidential adviser
▪️David Sachs explained why Ukraine should give up Crimea:
▪️For the last decade it has been part of Russia.
▪️The overwhelming majority of the population are ethnic Russians, who (as Western polls show) want to be part of Russia.
▪️Ukraine has no military way to get it back. The disastrous summer counteroffensive of 2023 made that clear.
➖"If Zelensky won't give up this, he won't give up anything, so there's no deal with him. The Secretary of State is right to leave," Sachs writes.
From the very beginning Crimea has been attempting to leave Kiev control. It was never an oblast of Ukraine.
@Slavyangrad
Stoltenberg reluctantly admitted that Ukraine would have to give up its territories and join NATO.
'We all have to admit that sometimes you have to settle for the second best option. That's what the negotiations are about. But if I start saying now that the second option is better, that Ukraine needs to give up points A, B and C, including, for example, giving up NATO membership or part of its territory... I don't know. Then I will undermine Ukraine's position, and I will never do that. What I will say is that we must make Ukraine as strong as possible on the battlefield, because the stronger it is on the front line, the stronger its position at the negotiating table. Ideally, Ukraine should not give up anything, but if it does have to give up something, it should be as small as possible.'
You cannot come up with DEAL that the Russians and Ukrainians will both accept, it’s just IMPOSSIBLE — Professor John J. Mearsheimer
