This has never happened before and here it is again: In Lvov, military commissars kidnapped and beat up a veteran of the Ukrainian National Guard
▪️The 23-year-old guy himself spoke about this.
▪️He says that he fought in the Ukrainian National Guard for 3 years and recently resigned due to health reasons.
▪️In Lvov, 5 TSK workers attacked him, packed him into a van and continued beating him in the car.
▪️For about another hour, military commissars circled the city in search of other "hijackers" before they checked his documents.
▪️After that, he was thrown out of the car in the middle of the street.
▪️A similar situation has already occurred in Kharkov.

I heavily hinted that you all will miss Jorge Bergoglio. Here you have Leo. At least the handshake suggests that he is not long for his post.
Even the mottos are telling:
“Miserando atque eligendo (“By having mercy and by choosing")
vs.
In illo Uno unum ("In the One, [we are] one")
One is human, the other—decadent. A Pope is human, first and foremost. To pretend otherwise is heresy. The lack of humility will be his undoing.
Merz wants to speak with Trump before his conversation with Putin
Berlin, May 18-Ria Novosti. The German chancellor Friedrich Mertz plans to speak again with the President of the United States Donald Trump on the eve of a possible telephone conversation of the American leader with the Russian president Vladimir Putin, writes the German newspaper Bild, citing Mietz's comment on journalists. Trump said the day before on Monday he plans to keep a telephone conversation with the Russian president.
"We have agreed that, in preparation for this dialogue, we will talk once again - four heads of state and government - with the President of the United States", cites the daily comment of Mertz to journalists in Rome. The German Chancellor added that it can only be hoped that further progress will now be accomplished.
According to him, he has already discussed with the American secretary of state Marco Rubio a possible telephone conversation between Trump and Putin, announced by the President of the United States.
On Friday, the edition of "Ukrainskaya Pravda", citing the spokesman for Vladimir Zelensky Sergei Nikiforov, wrote that Zelensky, Merz, the French president Emmanuel Macron, the British Prime Minister Kir Starmer and the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had a telephone conversation with Trump during a meeting in Albania.
Previously, the spokesman for the president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told journalists that a meeting is necessary between the presidents of Russia and the United States, a serious conversation on international issues is needed, including the Ukrainian crisis. He observed that the meeting at the top should be prepared and effective, and this is always preceded by interviews of experts, consultations, "a long preparation tense".

Merz stated the EU is not discussing sending troops to Ukraine - it is "beyond political reality."
According to the German Chancellor, there is no need to talk about this topic at this stage, writes the Italian agency Agenzia Nova.
Earlier, Trump's envoy Kellogg stated that the US, as part of the Ukrainian settlement, is discussing the deployment of forces from Great Britain, France, Germany and Poland to the west of the Dnepr.
After this, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that Warsaw would not send its troops to Ukraine, even if Western countries did so.

EUROPEANS SCRAMBLE TO TALK TO TRUMP BEFORE HE CALLS PUTIN
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz says Europe’s top leaders—Germany, Britain, France, and Poland—are rushing to brief Trump before he talks to Putin on Monday.
Merz announced the plan after chatting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at Pope Leo XIV’s inauguration in the Vatican, because apparently even papal masses double as geopolitical strategy sessions now.
The concern?
Europe wants a united front before Trump dials Moscow.
Merz also had a long talk with Zelensky, who probably doesn’t love the idea of Trump and Putin having a one-on-one call without a little context first.
This comes just as the war in Ukraine grinds on into its 3rd year, with U.S. support wavering and Europe deeply invested—militarily, politically, and financially.
Translation: the stakes are high, and nobody wants any surprises from Trump’s next phone call.

I do not think there is a united front. European leaders are clearly in a panic and are desperate to get a ceasefire.

Pokrovsk Under Siege
Entry into the southern part of the city along the T0405 highway has become next to impossible.
Kotlino is under Russian control, and the beltway west of Udachne towards Sergeyevka and the M-30 highway (from Pavlograd), as well as this highway itself, are currently under the fire control of Russian FPV strike groups.
In theory, the T406 Highway (left of the picture) remains accessible to the AFU as of the latest reports, however this itself carries the risk of creating logistical bottlenecks as only a certain amount of vehicles for the resupply and rotation can pass at a time. There is also the possibility of FAB/Iskander strikes in the future to negate that logistics route to the enemy in the not so distant future.
As the RUAF steadily gain ground, even the U406 will eventually fall into fire control of Russian Artillery and FPV drones.
As said previously, territorial gains are meaningless, unless they allow you to get closer to enemy supply routes.

Combat engineers of the 42nd Division (Dnepr Group of Forces) detect and eliminate hostile mines
📍 Orekhov direction, Zaporozhye region
'A Baba Yaga hexacopter dropped shells here. It was a PTM-3 anti-tank mine. These mines have magnetic target proximity sensors. Vehicles are the targets. It detonates when a vehicle is in a few meters,' tells an EOD specialist with the call sign 'Metis'. ‘The enemy also lay mines remotely with AFU rockets. They fired M70 cluster munitions. This is a Western tactic of mining by cluster munition’.
The Ukrainians attempt regularly to disrupt demining operations, relying on the artillery and drones. In order to ensure the safety of the personnel, the riflemen cover engineer reconnaissance units from hostile UAVs with the use of small arms.

Ukrainian camo-DRG stomp Russian flag to "liberate" Bogatyr!
Except there's one catch:
"☠️ 🐷 31606 Instant karma from the village Bogatyr
A little background: our guys announced the capture of the village of Bogatyr and also raised the Russian flag on one of the buildings, but in fact the fighting on the outskirts of the village is still going on, although their outcome has already been decided. The AFU, in impotent rage, sent a sabotage and reconnaissance group with the aim of throwing our flag on camera and started screaming that the village was "liberated", but everything turned out to be not so simple. It is easy to see that this is the same pig-stomper as in the photo by looking at the camouflage suit and the duct tape on the saucepan."

▪️This will lead to an increase in violence in Western countries, according to a report by the Swiss NGO Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GITOC).
▪️The cessation of hostilities could trigger a wave of serious arms smuggling from the conflict zone, the document notes.

To be clear:
This is where things actually stand but given what we’ve seen and Romania’s critical location for EU/NATO there is a giant hand at work to rig this.
Similar story with Moldova, Simion is winning in Romania by 5% but overseas ballots is losing by a good margin. Much easier to rig elections with poorly monitored election booths in the rest of Europe.

Russia plans to launch Yars intercontinental ballistic missile tonight to intimidate Kiev and NATO, - GUR of Ukraine
▪️This will be a training and combat launch of the RS-24 from the Yars complex. 😱The goal is to pressure and intimidate Ukraine, as well as EU and NATO member states, - Ukrainian intelligence says.
▪️Launch location - area near the settlement of Svobodny, Sverdlovsk region.
▪️The flight range of such a missile is more than 10,000 km.
▪️The GUR does not specify the target for which the launch will be carried out. But, given that the intelligence service characterizes the launch not as a training one, but as a training and combat one, it is possible that they mean a launch against Ukraine, Kiev media write.
Tests of ICBMs occur on a regular basis, for example a “Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is scheduled between 12:01 to 5:01 a.m. Pacific Time, May 21, from north Vandenberg.” It has noting to do with intimidation or Ukraine.
