▪️NATO leadership has decided to shorten the upcoming leaders' summit to one working session lasting 2.5 hours. This decision, according to Western media, was dictated by the desire to keep the attention of US President Donald Trump and prevent his early departure, as happened at the G7 meeting.
▪️The event was originally scheduled for three days. However, after Trump demonstratively walked out of the G7 summit — for various reasons, including disagreements with Macron and ignoring a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky — the structure of the upcoming NATO meeting was revised.

HOW TRUMP PAINTED HIMSELF INTO A CORNER, PART 2/3
Only, things have deteriorated considerably since. Not only is Israel running out of interceptors, but the interception rates are decreasing at an alarming level, Iranian secret services are rooting out sabotage groups on Iranian soil with ever increasing frequency, and worse of all things, Iran is now launching missile strikes in broad daylight, which is normally dangerous as it makes identifying and attacking the launchers far easier.
The fact that now Iran is confident enough to do so during the day, while at first it did so only during the night, combined with the decreasing frequency of Israeli strikes on Iran, could be a sign that the tides of this conflict are slowly turning to Iran’s favour. This is something that had already been anticipated, as Israel is completely reliant on shock and awe tactics but finds itself in deep trouble if the fighting protracts itself.
Trump must act now, but he must do so both decisively and in a way that will save his face and, more importantly, save the face of the struggling American empire. Unfortunately for him, there are enormous risks involved, and it will be very difficult for him to achieve all three.
Perhaps the best way for Trump to solve his predicament is to have the nuclear reactor in Fordows destroyed, which is the obsession of his ally Mileikovsky as well as the rest of the ziocons, however said reactor is located very deep underground and the only thing that could stand a chance at damaging it would be a very specialised type of bomb that can only be delivered by a B-2 stealth bomber or a B-52 right above the target. However, there is absolutely no evidence that Israel or the USA truly have “unchallenged air superiority over Iran”; it took NATO weeks to establish it over Yugoslavia, a much smaller country, and so far, NATO aircraft are only launching their strikes from the safety of friendly or occupied air space where Iranian AD can't reach them.
This means that either of the two airframes, more likely a B-2, has to be flown over Fordows and risk getting shot down by Iranian AD batteries, which would be a catastrophic, if not fatal, blow to the image of US hegemony, especially if the one getting destroyed is a B-2, a plane of which the USA possess only 15 specimens and that costs 2 billion dollars, and there’s even no guarantee that a single bomb could damage such installation. Several sorties would likely have to be made.
This can be done either quickly, or safely. In the latter case, this means a protracted bombing campaign against Iran in the hopes that its AD will be completely erased; this campaign would be immensely unpopular at home, especially if Iran retaliates by striking American bases in the middle east and American servicemen return home in body bags, and Iran will still keep pounding Israel, whose reserves of interceptors can’t be replenished quickly, as the American air campaign continues.
The former option means a lightning sortie against Fordows, hoping that the B-2’s reputation for stealth is entirely deserved, but it comes with its own set of problems as there are now Chinese observation vessels in the Persian Gulf that would very likely be keeping their eyes open for such raids and inform the Iranians, whose air defense network would still for the most part be intact and capable of shooting down those B-2s. And if the worst happens and a B-2 gets shot down, the damage to the US’ reputation will be catastrophically crippling, particularly if the Iranian army would capture its pilots.
Perhaps, deep down, Trump is well aware of the risks involved, and this is why he hasn’t launched an attack yet, and there are so many conflicting reports about him ready to strike at any time while simultaneously offering Iran an off-ramp. Don't be deceived though: as already said earlier, this is nothing but theatre, a trite good cop/bad cop routine meant to make people think that there is yet hope.

Seymour Hersh reports that "heavy American bombing" will begin this weekend, with the aim of deposing the Supreme Leader. "The White House has signed off on an all-out bombing campaign in Iran," Hersh writes
The delay Hersh notes is because Trump wants to delay disrupting the US stock market.

Likely the Angara-5 vehicle will launch a semi-classified 14F166A satellite developed at ISS Reshetnev intended for deployment in geostationary orbit as part of a military constellation.

Likely be the first potential Russian ASAT vehicle roaming in geostationary orbit and a major threat for Western space assets in this strategically critical region of space. US Prepares to Use World's Most Powerful Non-Nuclear Bomb — Axios
▪️We are talking about the 30-ton GBU-57A/B MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) - the so-called "bunker buster". This is a super-heavy precision bomb capable of penetrating hundreds of meters of fortified underground facilities.
▪️The main target is the Iranian site in Fordow, built into a mountain range. This is exactly what MOP was designed for.
▪️The US may use B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to deliver the munition.
▪️Experts emphasize: the use of MOP would be an unprecedented case. “To destroy Fordow, it would take at least two bombs hitting exactly the same point,” said American military analyst Robert Pape.

Again, the decision has already been made, or rather, forced: by Trump himself, who played right into Mileikovsky’s hand, and who painted himself into a corner through his schizophrenically arrogant blustering. Now, he can’t back down. If he withdraws now without at least destroying the Fordows plant, he’ll become the laughingstock of the entire world.
Stalling for time is an option, but it would only cement his reputation as a ditherer further, and it would only kick the can down the road. His only bet now is to commit and do everything he can to make the Iranian government collapse. But if the war drags on for too long, mounting pressure among the American populace, particularly the MAGA crowd, will cripple his image as well as the image of his party, destroying any chance of winning midterms and even the 2028 elections. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Grand Old Party lost for at least a decade after such a debacle, too.
To avoid painting himself into a corner, all Trump had to do would have been to exercise patience, humility, and most importantly restraint on his ego. Sadly, considering the character, that’s an impossible order.
Lastly, I don't think things would have gone much different had Kamala Harris been in the White House instead of him; much like a late stage cancer, the American republic is being killed from within. Trump is a symptom of all the rot that has insinuated itself within American institutions, not the disease itself.

HOW TRUMP BACKED HIMSELF INTO A CORNER, Part 1/3
In a few hours it’ll be one week since the state of Israel completely waved international laws goodbye (even more irreparably than it has already done, that is) by launching a surprise attack against Iranian leadership and nuclear enrichment facilities.
It is blatant that the hopes were for a quick decapitation strike to paralyze Iran and force the country to its knees, and in the opening hours, it almost seemed as if the plan worked: many members of Iran’s general staff and nuclear research experts were killed, and the Iranian air defense had been seemingly neutered by Israeli intelligence launching drone strikes from within Iranian territory, and cyber-attacks.
For a moment, Iran seemed to be on its knees, and everybody in the Israeli and American government were jubilantly licking their chops at the prospect of forcing a capitulation on a regime that in their mind had been permanently crippled. Bibi was drinking his champagne from the safety of his temporary haven in Cyprus, and Trump jubilantly announced to the whole world, through a post on social media, that he knew in advance of the attack and that Israel doesn’t do nothing without consulting the USA and receiving their approval.
Except Iran wasn’t crippled at all.
After wobbling from the blow received, Iranian technicians quickly brought AD batteries back online, new members of the General Staff were appointed, and Iranian security services started a relentless manhunt for Israeli assets on national soil that is still ongoing. Furthermore, it turned out that many of the targets initially struck were decoys, and the damage to Iran’s capability to retaliate wasn’t as extensive as propaganda said.
Operation True Promise 3 was announced a few hours later, and waves of missiles and drones rained on Israel, forcing the country to burn through its reserves of missile interceptors at a steady rate. Perhaps too steady.
Meanwhile Trump kept writing posts on social media that could be most generously be described as “schizophrenic”, first taunting the Iranians by saying that they would've needed a new negotiating team, then offering Iran another chance to negotiate again (after having bulldozed whatever little trust he could’ve still had) but at the condition that no enrichment was to take place at all, which is insulting to the intelligence of anyone who knows a minimum of how nuclear reactors work (how is Iran supposed to make its nuclear power plants work without enriched uranium then? With Faloodeh and Shekardura?), then saying that the USA ISN’T helping Israel, then saying that yes, the USA are indeed helping Israel “very bigly”, then demanding Iran to negotiate, THEN demanding “unconditional surrrender”, then offering to negotiate again BUT with the added demand of Iran dismantling its entire stockpile of missiles, which is defacto a capitulation, then announcing "complete air superiority" over the skies of Iran…honestly, I don’t want to lose my sanity by retracing every single one of his steps.
His bombast was accompanied by a relentless media and political campaign clamouring for war, justifying it, and demanding Iran to be split into ethnic lines, while the uniparty temporarily forgot of its apparent disdain for Trump to praise him and incite him to bomb iran further. A commitment which he defacto pledged himself to. With Israel getting relentlessly pounded by Iranian missiles and running out of interceptors. Especially, a mounting reputation for being a dithering buffoon because of his tariffs, and the nervousness of the big donor class, mean he now can not back away and HAS to do something, both to save his reputation and to please his donors and the warmongers in the government.
