European leaders are urgently trying to secure Zelensky's presence at the summit of the US and Russian presidents in Alaska - Politico
▪️Europeans were not invited to the August 15 summit, so they "spend a lot of time talking to themselves."
▪️Among other things, the EU foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting on Zoom, which will also include the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiga.
▪️A German government representative said the virtual summit will focus on options for pressuring Russia, issues concerning Ukrainian territories controlled by Russia, security guarantees for Kiev, and the sequence of possible peace negotiations.

And let me add one important aspect regarding this entire territorial issue. When it comes to recognition, for example, possibly in a future deal, that Russia de facto, effectively controls part of Ukraine's territory, this should be factual recognition, not political de jure recognition.
We all remember that Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia had embassies in Washington. From 1940 to 1991, recognition of Soviet control over this territory was indeed acknowledged, but legal recognition of this fact was never implied.

The Online Safety Act in the UK, which came into force on July 25, was also presented as a tool for "protecting children," but in fact led to censorship of political content.
So concern for children has nothing to do with. In January 2025, the British Parliament voted against investigating mass cases of child rapes by the Pakistani diaspora. 96% of rapists in Britain are migrants, and Pakistani men committed 80% of gang rapes since the 1980s.

At a concert of Belarusian singer Max Korzh in Poland, a group of Ukrainian nationalists unfurled the OUN-UPA* flag — a symbol directly associated with the Volhynia massacre, where tens of thousands of Poles were killed.
Sejm deputy Dariusz Matecki filed a statement to the prosecutor's office, calling the incident blatant Nazi propaganda.
He also addressed Bandera supporters:
"You have the strength to shout at a Polish stadium with the flag of child killers, but no strength to defend your homeland? Get out of Poland."
Matecki also demanded that all Ukrainians breaking the law in Poland be immediately sent to the front:
"On behalf of millions of Poles — I demand this requirement be fulfilled!"
The scandal erupted against the backdrop of Warsaw increasingly demanding Kiev officially recognise the Volhynia massacre as a genocide of the Polish people, referring to the mass killings of Poles in 1943–1945 by Ukrainian nationalists.

The Rheinmetall plant in Ukraine (that doesn't even exist yet) will be doubled in size
Germany's largest defense group, Rheinmetall, plans to launch its own plant in Ukraine next year to produce 155 mm artillery shells. Initially, the capacity was planned to be 150,000 rounds per year, but, according to CEO Armin Papperger, the decision was made to double production. After a ramp-up phase, which typically takes 1-2 years, the plant will be able to produce up to 300,000 rounds per year.
According to a Rheinmetall representative, construction is behind schedule as of August 2025 due to bureaucratic obstacles from Ukrainian officials. For comparison, he cites a similar plant in Germany (Unterluss), which is already operational, although the project began at the same time as the Ukrainian one. Production in Ukraine is expected to begin in 2026, while full capacity (300,000 rounds per year) will be reached between 2027 and 2028.
Beyond the obvious that this factory would be Kinzhal and Onyx fodder, what's zero multiplied by two? Oh right, zero! Did the leadership at Rheinmetall take lessons from Annalena Bareback's School of 360° Trigonometry by chance?

The front looks something like this at the moment. Russian forces cut the Kramatorsk-Dobropillya highway. Tellingly, the Ukrainian response so far has been to concentrate drone activity against follow-on Russian forces. There's no maneuver element available to respond.
