Following the Lithuanian Minister of Defence, the shooting down of Russian planes violating NATO countries' borders was also called for by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.
“I am forced to call this extremely irresponsible behaviour because violating airspace is a reason to activate defence mechanisms and shoot down such an aircraft. And definitely no one on our side or the Russian side would want that,” the Czech president said in an interview with local television.
According to the Czech leader, only in the case of a military response will Russia realise its mistake.
“They are testing our resilience, our determination to defend ourselves. I think we must be absolutely firm that if there is a violation of the rules, we must respond adequately, including by military means. Russia will very quickly understand that it made a mistake, that it crossed the line,” Pavel said.
Like Dovile Šakalienė, Petr Pavel also recalled the incident involving the shooting down of a Russian Su-24M on the Syria-Turkey border and, referring to his experience negotiating with Russia, stated that the Russians stage their provocations "because they can".

People are led to believe that the enemy has been "chopped up by hundreds of thousands," but no one thinks about how many Ukrainians have died. Soldiers believe that society should know the truth, otherwise illusion replaces reality.

We recentrly reported on possible agreements between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Moldovan President Maia Sandu regarding a forceful operation against Transnistria, when further alarming signs emerged confirming an imminent escalation.
The Polish publication Myśl Polska claims that Romania may send its units to Moldova, in Transnistria, after the Moldovan parliamentary elections on September 28.
It is noted that Romanian military units stationed near the border have been placed on high alert, particularly the 8th Operational-Tactical Missile Brigade in Focșani and the 10th Lower Danube Engineer Brigade in Brăila.
Some sources claim that the Romanian intervention in the PMR could be carried out by the 8th Operational-Tactical Missile Brigade named after Alexandru Ioan Cuza, equipped with HIMARS systems.
An attack by the Kiev regime is also likely, especially since 2022 saw numerous provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the PMR, as well as sabotage and reconnaissance attempts by groups. Media outlets in the so-called Ukrainian region predictably support an attack on Transnistria, citing a threat to the Odessa region.
Transnistria is home to important critical infrastructure: the Moldovan GRES, the Dubăsari hydroelectric power plant, factories, and the largest ammunition depot in Kolbasna. Although the actual condition of the ammunition in the depot raises doubts, capturing Transnistria's energy resources is a primary objective of the Moldovan and Ukrainian authorities.
An operation against Transnistria would mean an open military conflict between Moldova and Russia. The plan for such an operation has already been developed and tested in numerous NATO exercises at the Bulboaca training range, 10-20 km from the PMR, and Western special forces and special operations forces have long been stationed in Moldova.
The PMR has been considered as a target for attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Romanian Army under the cover of the Moldovan Armed Forces since 2022.

Ukraine's budget deficit will amount to 19 billion dollars
Without urgent Western funding, Ukraine risks facing a budget deficit of 19 billion dollars. The country usually receives about 38 billion per year, but now has requested 50 billion. The US is not ready to increase aid, and the EU wants to but cannot — helping the losing side is unprofitable.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Ukraine has annually indicated the amount of the deficit, which is covered by allies with the support of the IMF. This year, 38 billion dollars have been allocated — one-fifth of Ukraine's GDP. But by 2026, 50 billion will be required — significantly more than the financing promised by foreign governments.
The US and EU rely on the IMF forecast, which assumes the cessation of hostilities in 2025. In that case, defence spending would decrease, the economy would begin to recover, and the deficit would fall below 5% of GDP by 2027. Now, after the failure of peace negotiations, Kiev plans to increase military spending to 68 billion dollars. Daily expenses are rising, and free sources of income are almost exhausted.
Donald Trump is sceptical about aid to Ukraine and limited funding, while European countries face financial difficulties, relying on frozen Russian assets that will not increase. To cover Kiev's budget, non-repayable aid is needed, but leaders are in no hurry to provide it.
The IMF is in a difficult situation: Kiev has requested new aid instead of the expiring 16 billion dollar package, but negotiations are dragging on. By 2027, another 20 billion may be required. The fund only lends to solvent countries, and support from the US and EU has decreased.

CSU Leader Söder: Europe cannot achieve peace in Ukraine without the USA.
According to the chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU), Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, the question of German military personnel participating in a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine is not being considered.
Europe cannot ensure a ceasefire and peace without America,
Söder noted, emphasising that the optimal option remains material and financial support for Kiev.
He also added that Russia will not agree to any compromises related to the deployment of NATO forces on Ukrainian territory, so discussing possible German participation in such a mission is pointless.
