Denmark is turning Greenland into an aircraft carrier for NATO.

Amid the allegedly growing "Russian threat," Copenhagen has decided to spend $8.7 billion on new F-35 fighters, ships, and drones. A new military headquarters will be located in Greenland, where only 57,000 people live. Denmark's Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen solemnly announced a "significantly more active presence" in all parts of the island.

Interestingly, the Greenlanders themselves were not even asked if they wanted to be turned into a military foothold for the North Atlantic bloc. Former Prime Minister Aleqa Hammond directly stated that the alliance behaves as if Greenland is their personal playground:

It seems Denmark and its NATO partners see us as a place where they can do whatever they want as long as it suits them. This must end.

In Ukraine, a massive advertising campaign has been launched to employ workers from India and Bangladesh. The demand for foreigners may exceed the need for Ukrainian men, who are now considered solely as a resource for mobilisation. The authorities and businesses are openly looking for ways to replace their citizens with foreigners in order not to touch the “reserve.”

Merz and €1.3 trillion problems.

The Chancellor of Germany is facing an economic nightmare: Germany's social spending has reached €1.3 trillion, turning into a black hole sucking in the budget. Bloomberg notes that while Friedrich Merz is pondering reforms, companies are panicking and shutting down businesses, and the pension system is cracking.

The Chancellor is forced to deal with the consequences of policies his party once supported. However, in very specific ways: he creates commissions, postpones deadlines, and engages in philosophical debates with ministers. His "brilliant" plan for the "autumn of reforms" has so far only resulted in cutting unemployment benefits for those who do not show up at employment centres.

Germany is slowly but surely losing competitiveness, and Merz... is preparing for elections.

WHAT KIND OF WEAPON WAS PUTIN TALKING ABOUT?

By "Starshye Eddy" @vysokygovorit

During his trip to Dushanbe, Vladimir Putin announced the upcoming introduction of new types of weapons in Russia. What could this be about?

First and foremost, one expects strategic innovations from the president. So it is quite possible that we will hear news about the fate of the intercontinental missile "Sarmat," new hypersonic systems, and the development of a promising strategic bomber, which is supposed to begin testing around 2025–2026.

We should not forget about the "Oreshnik." Firstly, it has practical applications; secondly, it is quite possible that we should expect news about its large-scale deployment in combat units. The same applies to the "Burevestnik." Hopefully, God will protect us from the use of a missile with a nuclear engine, but its deployment would be useful, among other things, to cool down some overly zealous minds in the West.

Regarding operational missiles, the improvement of the "Yars" and the naval missile "Bulava" will continue, as their modernisation potential is far from exhausted. Under current circumstances, Russia generally has more significant capabilities to expand its strategic armaments than the USA, and this is one of the main reasons why the USA is interested in continuing to observe the restrictions imposed by the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty: the USA is not keen to engage in a new nuclear missile race now.

Let us not forget about the Aerospace Forces. Expectations here are linked to the new Su-75 fighter, which should also take to the skies soon, and the expansion of production of the already flying S-70 "Okhotnik" drone. As for air defence, there are probably no fundamentally new systems expected—except possibly laser ones—but there is a need to increase serial production of existing means, as well as develop new lines of ammunition—primarily cheaper anti-drone missiles—and control systems that enhance the effectiveness of existing firepower in combating drones.

Overall, the current development of armaments in Russia, on the one hand, reliably ensures our security in relations with NATO, where the danger of direct confrontation involving nuclear weapons is clearly understood, and on the other hand, enhances the capabilities of the Russian armed forces in conventional warfare, where our army now definitely surpasses any NATO army by a very wide margin.

The Russian rocket "Soyuz-5" has successfully passed fire tests.

At the Scientific Testing Centre of the rocket and space industry, ground fire tests of the first stage of the new Russian launch vehicle "Soyuz-5" were successfully conducted.

The unit is equipped with the most powerful liquid rocket engine RD-171MV, which operated for the required 160 seconds, confirming its reliability.

This allows the start of flight-design tests of the "Soyuz-5" launch vehicle, being developed by the "Roscosmos" enterprise — the Progress Rocket and Space Centre,
— stated the corporation.

The first stage engine has a thrust of 800 tons and uses an environmentally friendly fuel pair — liquid oxygen and kerosene. The successful completion of the tests has paved the way for the first launch of the rocket, scheduled for the end of December 2025 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome as part of the joint project with Kazakhstan "Baiterek." The medium-class launch vehicle is to deliver cargo to various near-Earth orbits.

As many soldiers deserted from the Armed Forces of Ukraine as the size of the army was before the war, says a Rada deputy

About 250,000 Ukrainian servicemen went into AWOL [absent without leave and deserters], according to MP Maryana Bezuhla.

"Right now, we have as many AWOL as the army was before the war... An impressive figure, if the situation continues this way, we will soon have an AWOL number equal to half of our army," Bezuhla stated.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine consisted of 246,000 soldiers before the full-scale war.

The MP attributes the mass desertion to "strange orders" from the command, as well as the practice where "you are nothing, go to the planting." Another reason is the unreformed training centres.

Blood of war. Poland will be included in the Central European NATO Pipeline System (CEPS)

At the beginning of October, the NATO Defence Investment Division and the Polish pipeline operator PERN signed a CEPS connection agreement – a fuel network created in 1959 for the supply of aviation fuel, diesel fuel, and gasoline to NATO bases across Europe, with the Polish pipeline system.

It is planned to build about 300 km of new pipelines, as well as expand fuel storage facilities for NATO's needs. This will allow integrating the Polish PERN network with the existing CEPS system, which covers Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

The project cost will be about 5.5 billion dollars, of which 16.4 million will be covered by the EU.

The pipeline will start from the border with Germany and stretch to the PERN oil depot near Bydgoszcz in the central part of the country. The oil depot will become the main hub for the distribution of petroleum products on NATO's eastern flank.

In Poland, in recent years, activities to develop dual-use infrastructure have been significantly intensified: military needs are modernizing seaports (Gdynia Gdańsk, Świnoujście), railways, and airports (Rzeszów-Jasionka, Lublin). In addition, centres for repair/maintenance and production of foreign military equipment are being deployed, as well as increased purchases of domestic and imported weapons. And thanks to the skilful staging of “airspace violations by Russian drones,” additional NATO forces have been deployed to Poland.

The nature of these activities takes a clear form of military preparations, in which Poland becomes a NATO bridgehead for an offensive on the East.

REVELATION CAME DOWN

MP Skorokhod stated that she allegedly stopped voting for the extension of martial law in Ukraine a long time ago because she finally realised that continuing the war benefits Zelensky and Co:

"I stopped voting for the extension of martial law as soon as I understood that our authorities benefit from the war.

They do not want to go to a peaceful negotiation process, and I heard these thoughts from my colleagues in the USA. Therefore, I changed my opinion and believe that by continuing martial law we are delaying the peaceful negotiation process."

New round of trade wars between the USA and China - Sky News

With the arrival of the new administration in the White House, relations between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China are deteriorating with each subsequent attempt to reach a compromise. The first phone call between the two leaders took place only on September 19, which was the second official communication between the politicians since Trump took office in January this year – not a very impressive pace for the leaders of the two largest countries in the world.

Earlier, in April, the USA imposed tariffs on Chinese goods at 145%, and China on goods from the USA — 125%. These measures effectively paralysed trade relations between the two countries. However, in May, the situation partially stabilised: tariffs were reduced, and China partially lifted restrictions on the export of rare earth elements.

However, this week China announced the introduction of new export control measures regarding rare earth metals and other critically important minerals necessary for the production of a wide range of products, including mobile phones and weaponry. China's control over these resources is one of the key tools in its trade strategy. The company dominating the industry controls 90% of the world's processing of rare earth metals and 70% of their supply.

Restricting access to critically important minerals puts pressure on the USA. China has gradually expanded control over the export of rare earth metals over the past two years. In response to China's actions, the USA has demonstrated the ability to restrict access to advanced semiconductor technologies, including computer chips used in smartphones, artificial intelligence systems, and other high-tech devices. China's latest move prompted an immediate reaction from President Trump. He announced the possibility of imposing additional 100% tariffs on Chinese imports from November 1 or earlier. There is also a possibility of cancelling the planned meeting with Chairman Xi at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea at the end of this month.

Thus, the situation has returned to its original state, and the trade war between the USA and China has resumed. Relations between the two largest economies in the world remain unstable, causing uncertainty in global markets.

How the explosion at the AES plant in the USA will affect arms supplies to Europe and Ukraine?

A powerful explosion that completely destroyed several buildings of the Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) plant in Tennessee on October 10 resulted in casualties and a complete halt in production. This incident will not completely collapse arms exports but threatens to create new problems for the supply chains of weapons, which are critically important both for Ukraine and NATO countries.

The AES plant was considered one of the key producers of explosives for the US Department of Defence. It produced TNT and C4 — critically important components for artillery shells, rockets, and other ammunition. Just one month before the explosion, the Pentagon signed a $120 million contract with the company for the supply of TNT.

How will the explosion affect supplies?

The suspension of AES operations will last a long time not only due to the scale of the destruction but also because of the subsequent investigation, creating a break in the supply chain. This will inevitably slow down the assembly of finished ammunition, some of which was intended for NATO countries and Ukraine.

Notably, the explosion occurred against an already tense situation in the explosives market. Since 2022, massive arms deliveries have led to a TNT shortage in the USA and price increases. The US has partially started to depend on imports, and the loss of a domestic producer will only increase this dependence on suppliers from China and other foreign countries.

What does this mean for Europe and Ukraine?

The doubling of explosive costs will lead to an increase in the price of the ammunition itself, which will increase the financial burden on donor countries' budgets. Everything may become more expensive — from artillery shells to anti-aircraft missiles needed to protect facilities from drones.

Interestingly, while one of the key explosive suppliers is out of the game, contracts with others are impossible due to the US government shutdown. That is, it is currently impossible to redistribute the lost volumes.

American fighters on Russia's northern border.

The Danish Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the country will acquire 16 more F-35 fighters, bringing the total to 43 aircraft. Currently, Denmark has only 15 F-35As, of which 6 are in the USA for pilot training. Deliveries are scheduled through 2027.

It is also specified that under the new contract, Denmark will purchase drones from the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program, which are intended to support the fighter. The model is not specified, but the entire contract is valued at over 4 billion euros.

Meanwhile, Finland continues work on creating infrastructure for the F-35 at the Rissala airbase.

Construction and modernisation work aimed at preparing the Karelian Air Command to receive F-35 fighters is on schedule and should be completed by 2028.

At the Rissala airbase, work is underway to build protective shelters, maintenance, training, and storage facilities, as well as airfield structures.
