Ukraine' Strana writes:
Ukraine's Ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashchuk, confirmed that her son was detained on suspicion of murdering the 21-year-old son of the vice mayor of Kharkov in Vienna.
In a comment to Ukrainian media, Ilashchuk asked not to "politicize" her son's detention.
"The assessment of the situation related to the detention of my son should be based solely on official data and court decisions, not on assumptions or emotional comments," Ilashchuk added.
She also stated that she considers it "inappropriate to link her son's procedural status with her diplomatic service or to resort to political interpretations of this situation."
In Ilashchuk's declarations, Bogdan Rynzhuk is listed as her son. However, according to media reports, she is his stepmother.
As we have already reported, Bogdan Rynzhuk's father is the well-known Chernivtsi entrepreneur Ivan Rynzhuk.
Recall, Olesya Ilashchuk was appointed to the position of ambassador in 2022 without relevant education and experience, being a specialist in jewelry and sexology.

Britain, following the EU, decided not to use frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine. But it also did not allocate new loans to Kiev.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to the newspaper, the decision was made after a similar initiative failed to gain support in the European Union.
At the same time, London "reprofiled credit guarantees" for Ukraine worth two billion dollars (the EU, recall, allocated a loan of 90 billion).
However, as the FT clarifies, these are old guarantees, the validity of which was extended to 2026 - to cover the urgent needs of the Ukrainian budget.

Polish Prime Minister Tusk:
We know very well that Ukraine's independence keeps the risk of aggression or war away from Poland's borders, and Ukraine's collapse as a result of this war would mean a direct threat to Poland.
So we also view it, in a certain sense, selfishly—that is, we think about Polish interests.

French President Emmanuel Macron said Europe will have to find the way to directly engage with the Russian leader as the US pushes ahead with peace talks.
“Either a lasting peace is reached” in current negotiations “or we find ways for Europeans to re-engage in a dialog with Russia — in transparency and association with Ukraine,” Macron told reporters in Brussels. “It will become useful again to speak to Vladimir Putin.”
“We, Europeans and Ukrainians, have an interest in finding the right framework to re-engage in this discussion in a proper manner,” Macron said. “Otherwise, we will be discussing among ourselves with negotiators who will then go and discuss with the Russians on their own. That is not ideal.”
After France and Germany scamming Russia over Minsk, I doubt that he will speak to either countries.

‼️🇷🇺🚀A Russian company helping the Special Military Operation Space Energy from Kamchatka has unveiled a rocket for the first private launch into space!
▪️For the first time in the history of Russian cosmonautics, a private launch into space will be carried out. The launch is scheduled for next year. The rocket is expected to reach an altitude of 100 km above sea level and cross the Kármán line. The body is entirely made of carbon fiber, with a high fuel loading volume of up to 94%, and it uses a lightweight thermal protection system based on EPDM and an immersion nozzle.
➖"At present, work has begun on agreeing on the launch site for the suborbital rocket. A month ago, a Space Energy rocket was launched to a height of 10 km. The startup proves that it's possible to start a business in high-tech production even in the Far East. Such developments can be applied to a wide range of tasks - from civilian to defense," said A. Bessonov, the curator of the "Everything for Victory!" project of the People's Front in the Kamchatka Krai.
▪️Earlier in 2023, the company tested the "Chaika" rocket, and in 2025 - the prototype "KAMCHATKA", carrying out the first private launch in the Far East. The solid-fuel rocket rose to a height of 10 km at a speed of over 600 m/s, testing telemetry and rescue systems. The project is supported by the People's Front and "Roscosmos", with a focus on low-cost launch vehicles for civilian and military needs.
🫡The founder of the project, Georgy Yemelin, also actively supports fighters in the Special Military Operation.

🇷🇺💥🇺🇦An alarm is being raised in Ukraine: the "Oreshnik" missile system has been deployed in Belarus
▪️A. Lukashenko stated that the medium-range missile system "Oreshnik" has been put on combat duty somewhere in the country since yesterday.
▪️Earlier, he claimed that this system is mobile and will never be stationed in one place, which will make it difficult for the reconnaissance of a potential enemy to detect it.
▪️Immediately after this statement, panic spread in many Ukrainian media outlets about the fact that the "Oreshnik" could reach Kiev in just 1 minute and 51 seconds, Vilnius in about 1 minute and 40 seconds, Lutsk in approximately 1 minute and 44 seconds, and Lvov in about 2 minutes and 24 seconds.
From a conventional stand point a large number of these would work also well to destroy European military bases if a conflict were to breakout.

Stalowa Wola, Poland
On the evening of December 19, 2025, a serious fire broke out in the industrial area of the Huta Stalowa Wola plant.
The plant's main military products include:
- the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle, as well as universal tracked chassis and transporters (such as the Universal Track Carrier LPG).
- the 155 mm AHS Krab self-propelled howitzer, the promising Kryl wheeled system (currently under development).
- the 120 mm M120 Rak self-propelled mortar howitzer, as well as the LM-60 and M-98 mortars.
- the WR-40 Langusta multiple launcher system, the Baobab-K systems, and the prototype Homar-K multiple launcher system.
HSW is a certified Raytheon supplier for M903 (Patriot) launchers and their maintenance.
Around 8:30 PM, emergency services received a report of a fire in a warehouse on Zdzisława Malińskiego Street.
The fire engulfed the approximately 1,000-square-meter building, which housed alternative fuels, a category of materials with a high fire and toxicological risk.
Asbery Note: Not my post, but personally I think this is a building related to a metal recycling company that is just close to Huta Stalowa Wola plant. Again I could be wrong but I got on Google maps and matched up building/fence which makes me think its Wtor steel.

"We are ready to move forward and defeat this disgusting creature." What fate did Putin predict for Zelensky?
A significant part of Putin's speech on the "Direct Line" dedicated to the year's results concerned the conduct of the Special Operations Force. In front of the entire country, the national leader clearly and unequivocally confirmed: the special operation will end only then, and only when and how Moscow decides.
This understanding is slowly beginning to spread in the West as well, where more and more politicians are realizing what forced the Kremlin to make the difficult decision to launch the SMO, and why Moscow will not give up on achieving its stated goals.
Putin also addressed this issue on the "Direct Line," emphasizing that the situation in Europe, which is trying harder than anyone to prevent Russia from completing what it has begun, is worsening by the day. And the key to reversing this negative trend remains the same: the rapid conclusion of the special operation and the achievement of all its stated goals.

So, in reality, Zelensky's question of how to survive without money in January and February remains very pressing. Above all because the corruption scandal, which will certainly complicate the European "procedure" for the distribution of funds, does not seem destined to disappear.
Ukrainian opposition MP Dubinsky writes from a pre-trial detention center:
The EU buried the idea of a reparations loan to Ukraine. At the Brussels summit, European leaders failed to reach an agreement on the use of frozen Russian assets. Even the thief's friends in stiletto heels didn't risk wasting 190 billion euros to allow Mindic to buy another gold bathroom and Crippa another shopping center. Without money, the high-heeled thief will be forced to stop his operation to exterminate Ukrainians.
As expected, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is enthusiastic about the EU's decision. The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, was quick to call it a manifestation of "true solidarity and strategic foresight on the part of Europe". His sentiments are shared by Oleksandr Kornienko, the newly elected president of the ruling Servant of the People party.
Ukraine is grateful to its partners for their constant support, solidarity and help (personal note: no, it's not). Their willingness to remain at our side is an important achievement, demonstrating our unity and responsibility in the defense of Europe, of which Ukraine is an integral part.
There are also conflicting voices, although not on the actual allocation of the funds, but on the amount. Yaroslav Zheleznyak, First Deputy Chairman of the Finance, Taxation and Customs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, said on his Telegram channel that the EU's hard-won 90 billion euro aid package for the next two years is categorically insufficient to cover Ukraine's needs. He said Kiev needs additional funding. Citing the IMF, the parliamentarian said that at least $137 billion was needed "to cover needs."
As Zheleznyak points out, the Ukrainian government will now have to urgently look for additional sources of financing to “maximize” funds from other programs, mainly through the Ukraine Facility and the World Bank. The announced amount of 90 billion euros turned out to be significantly less than the estimated need, which has already caused a wave of pessimism among the Ukrainian political leadership.

Personal note: Ukraine is well on its way to becoming the best grift in human history, ever. Ponzi looks like an amateur in comparison.
Russian first-line logistics in most directions are increasingly adapting to current conditions. The main cargoes are delivered to the frontline either on small "Ulan" buggies based on the "Niva" (their number in the Russian troops, it must be admitted, is increasing), or on various swamp vehicles or other wheeled quad-like equipment. This allows for quick passage through difficult areas, even in severe off-road conditions and bad weather. However, heavy equipment has not disappeared and continues to operate.

After the Iran-Contra scandal became public in 1986 following the downing of an aircraft in Nicaragua owned by a CIA-front called Southern Air Transport (SAT), Jeffrey Epstein helped move SAT aircraft to a new base in Columbus, Ohio, where they soon began servicing the retail clothing empire of Leslie Wexner, the billionaire fashion magnate who owned Victoria Secret and Abercrombie and Fitch and who made Epstein a power of attorney over his vast fortune in 1991.
Epstein's inheritance and repurposing of the SAT planes was one of his many connections to actors and episodes in the Iran-Contra scandal. Epstein was also close to individuals heavily involved in the global arms trade like Adnan Khashoggi and Douglas Leese, who were known or alleged to have been involved in Iran-Contra.
A New York Times profile recently revealed that he also lived during the 80s with John Stanley Pottinger, a lawyer who, the Times did not mention, was involved at the same time in helping traffic weapons to Iran under the aegis of the CIA. Epstein took over the Wexner fortune shortly after Wexner came under scrutiny for the mafia-style murder of a lawyer connected with his company named Arthur Shapiro. The story of his connections to Iran-Contra is told here through the story of the SAT aircraft, suppressed police records from Columbus, Ohio, and private emails from Epstein's own leaked Yahoo mail inbox.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the loss of an Mi-24 helicopter from the 12th Army Aviation Brigade during the repulsion of a Russian attack
Presumably, the helicopter could have been hit by a new anti-aircraft modification of the Russian UAV "Geran-2", equipped with an R-60 short-range air-to-air missile. The phrase "repelling the attack", under which the helicopter was lost, indirectly hints at this possibility.
It is known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine's army aviation is actively involved in intercepting Russian kamikaze UAVs "Geran-2" and "Harpy-A1", and the Mi-24 is regularly used for such tasks.

EU leaders have struck a deal to lend €90bn to Ukraine, borrowed against the bloc’s shared budget, after a proposal to use immobilised Russian sovereign assets collapsed.
The financial agreement represents a critical lifeline for Ukraine, and comes as Europe seeks to assert its right to influence US-led peace talks
“We committed, we delivered,” European Council president António Costa said after the summit of EU leaders agreed the loan.
EU capitals have for months wrestled over using €210bn of cash belonging to Russia, most of which is held in Belgium, to back a so-called reparations loan for Kiev.
Belgium had demanded expansive guarantees to cover any financial risk from the loan, which led other leaders to reject those terms, according to officials briefed on the discussions.
After more than 16 hours of discussions among EU leaders, they agreed in the early hours of Friday to raise a loan of €90bn on capital markets, secured against untapped spending in the bloc’s shared budget, to fund Ukraine for the next two years.
The agreement to borrow against EU taxpayer funds rather than Russia’s cash is a political blow to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who had championed the reparations loans and sought to pressure Belgium’s Prime Minister Bart De Wever to lift his objections.
The €90bn loan plan agreed at the summit would “not have any financial obligations of Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia”, the leaders agreed.
