Merz brought Trump a 'correct' map of the military actions in Ukraine and claimed about Zelensky's phantom territorial concessions, which never happened.
‘I am leaving Washington with a deep sense that the US administration clearly understands what is at stake in Ukraine, and that this country cannot make additional territorial concessions beyond those that have already been made.
And we are talking only about the part of the territory that is under Russia's military occupation, and nothing more. I was able to explain this situation to the president, using a map of the front line and a map showing where Ukraine has access to the Black Sea.
And I got the impression that now the president better understands what is at stake for this country, and this is a very firm position of the Europeans.’

Despite the hunt for launch pads, the number of Iranian "Shahid" drones is increasing. For now, Iran is focused on hitting targets in Bahrain and the UAE. Both of Iran's opponents report that everything is being shot down, but as it turns out, this is far from the case.
The Iranians are currently attacking Bahrain particularly fiercely, but the greatest effectiveness in terms of military targets has been achieved in the UAE.

President Emmanuel Macron of France has persistently called for Europe to act decisively to defend itself and its own interests in a world where Russia is on the march, China is economically aggressive and the United States is turning away.
Mr. Macron first talked of the need for European strategic “autonomy” in 2017. In the last year, with trans-Atlantic relations spinning downward, Europeans seem to have heard the message: They need to do more and spend more in their own defense.
But there is a built-in political problem. Germany is already spending much more money than its European partners, according to military spending trackers, like that of the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based research organization. After years of aversion to war because of its history and a hope that the collapse of the Soviet Union would bring about a more peaceful world, the German military had shrunk badly.
Now, it is trying to catch up. And because Berlin has committed to putting more money into the military in the next few years, it will probably end up spending more than France and Britain, both nuclear powers, combined — and all of it on conventional warfare, not on an expensive nuclear deterrent.
Inevitably, much of Berlin’s spending will be on German companies, like Rheinmetall, which are growing quickly in response to lavish new funding.
Strategic autonomy, senior French, Italian and Polish officials fear, will increasingly have a German accent.
Mark Leonard, director of the European Council on Foreign Relations, an international think tank, said he was surprised by how many top officials in Paris “talked spontaneously about how worried they are about sustained German defense spending.”
“Take out the nuclear, just compare conventional spending, and the balances are even worse,” said Jacob Funk Kirkegaard of Bruegel, a Brussels-based economic think tank. “I’m not sure that the true implications have really dawned on the rest of Europe.”
Experts say those implications are broad.
Even if the money is spent badly or inefficiently, it will have a big impact on the military marketplace, experts added.
In France, Mr. Mölling said, the huge increase in German military spending was seen as “unbalancing the old relationship we have over the defense-industrial base in Europe.”

"We'll see it all at gas stations". Europe will very soon feel the war in Iran
Europe will soon start suffering from the consequences of the US and Israel's attack on Iran, cites Polsat TV diplomat Robert Pszczel. If the situation does not change, it will hit Europeans with a surge in gas prices. At the same time, the crisis will be more fatal and long-term if chaos begins in Iran. However, it's too early to talk about this now.
"The regime is already a very large group of people, and in fact, the current agenda includes issues concerning, for example, the role that Iranian state structures, the Ministry of Defense, the headquarters, and so on will play. There is a guard, which is actually the pillar of this regime. It is still operating," noted Pszczel.

Lawmakers given classified briefings Tuesday evening on the U.S. military conflict in Iran expect President Donald Trump will ask Congress for emergency cash to finance the war.
During the closed-door meetings on Capitol Hill, top Trump administration officials said only that they are considering a supplemental military funding request, according to lawmakers who attended the briefings. But senior intelligence and defense officials described a vast military operation that many members anticipate will require extra funding on top of the nearly $1 trillion Congress has already given the military over the last year.
“I think there will be a supplemental coming,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters upon leaving his classified Senate briefing. “We’ll have to approve that.”
Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut, the top Democrat on the Senate committee overseeing funding for the Department of Homeland Security, said after the briefing that the military operation “feels like a multitrillion-dollar, open-ended conflict with a very confusing and constantly shifting set of goals” because top Trump administration officials “are refusing to take off the table ground operations.”
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) also described the U.S.-Iran conflict as “a massive operation” that’s “rapidly changing.”
“It sounded very open-ended to me,” he added.
Some lawmakers typically opposed to increased spending are open to the idea of providing extra money to fuel the U.S. military’s operation against Iran. “I think it would have support of Republicans,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said about a supplemental funding request Tuesday night.
Any supplemental spending package to support the Iran war effort would come on top of the more than $150 billion the Pentagon got from the party-line tax and spending package Republicans enacted last summer and nearly $839 billion in regular funding Congress cleared last month.
The US ran nearly a 6% of GDP deficit 2025. Total Debt-to-GDP (Q3 2025): Approximately 121% to 124%. (FYE for US budget is Q3). It won't be a a war that brings down the US it will be debt. It's likely the US will be more in debt then Italy by the end of Trump's tenure, then it will be looking to pass Greece.

🇪🇸Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez - demanded that the USA and Israel stop the war in Iran:
In Spain, we oppose this catastrophe because we understand that governments exist to improve people's lives and offer solutions to problems, not to exacerbate them. And it is completely unacceptable that those leaders who are unable to fulfill this duty use the smokescreen of war to hide their incompetence and, at the same time, line their pockets.
We call on the United States, Iran, and Israel to stop before it's too late. I have said this many times, and I repeat it now: it is impossible to respond to one illegal act with another, because this is how great catastrophes of humanity begin.

At least 101 people went missing and 78 were injured as a result of a submarine attack on an Iranian ship off the coast of Sri Lanka. It is presumed that the attack could have been carried out by the USS Mississippi (SSN-782), a Virginia-class submarine from the combat escort of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
The US Navy command has not yet commented on these statements.
