Ukraine humiliated NATO during naval maneuvers: "They didn't even notice the attacks," — FAZ
▪️During five training scenarios off the coast of Portugal, the defense of ports and convoys, as well as attacks on them, were practiced.
▪️In all five scenarios, Ukraine "sunk" NATO frigates with naval drones.
▪️In one episode, Ukraine struck a frigate so many times that it would have sunk in a real battle.
😂 The funniest thing is that NATO soldiers didn't even notice the attack and were asking in the general chat if the Ukrainians were planning to attack.

I should add that the media uses Ural spot pricing which is generally poor data. Due to sanctions and how the oil market works most experts have long pointed out the discounts were never more $5bbl. Most oil is sold to refineries under longer contracts. In the case of India, Russia owns refineries there

'It was a mistake' — Merz refuses to acknowledge the looming energy crisis and condemns Trump for temporarily lifting sanctions against Russia.
'There is a strategic understanding that the wars in Iran and Ukraine are interconnected. Russia, of course, is closely monitoring events in Iran. Russia will use every opportunity to test NATO and weaken Ukraine. Therefore, in our opinion, it was a mistake for Washington to ease restrictions on Russian oil sales. We will not continue down this path. We will continue to increase European pressure on Russia. Moreover, energy prices cannot be sustainably reduced through such actions against Russia. This sends a harmful and false signal for Ukraine. It also impacts European security.'

The infantility of the German gov appears to have no limits. The German FM now says that "regimes like Iran cannot invoke international law.”
The most fundamental principle of international law is that it applies equally to all states. To challenge that is to declare yourself a rogue state.

Amen to that. All that rhetoric and pearl clutching we heard from Europe since 2022 was utter nonsense. If you think it was true at any point you were an idiot, if you still believe it after what we saw in Gaza and now with 200 schools bombed out in Iran then you are a retard.

Financial Times editor Edward Luce:
'I spoke with President Donald Trump on the phone on Sunday. I'd tried to reach him three or four times before, and I was a little surprised that he answered this time. Nevertheless, he did. He wanted to discuss several aspects of the war with Iran. Trump was talkative and interested in the conversation. I didn't have to press him for information—he was, as usual, very communicative. My sense was that he was genuinely concerned about the developments in this war. It was a direct request for help from allies, of whom he is usually critical. He was emphatic about their need to help get him out of this situation.'
Suspect Russia or China is the only country who can broker a deal with Iran

Retired US Army Brigadier General Stephen M. Anderson (former deputy chief of staff for logistics of the multinational forces in Iraq under General Petraeus) stated that the US underestimated Iran's capabilities in waging asymmetric warfare. Anderson claims that Iran possesses "enormous" capabilities, citing swarms of drones and high-speed kamikaze boats capable of sinking American military ships, such as the USS Cole.

'I heard he's gay' - Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on Iran's new leader🤦♀️
"There are intelligence reports now that he's not very smart. He's had personal problems. But the main thing is, no one's seen him in two weeks of war. All his statements are simply read off. So there remains a real mystery surrounding this 56-year-old man who is supposed to lead."
"Yes, Steve, I've also heard reports that they think he's gay. And what would it be like to be gay in Iran and also the leader? There are reports that he had trouble procreating and had to resort to assistance several times. So there are serious questions surrounding the presumptive heir..."

🇺🇸🇮🇷 An acute gas shortage has begun in South Asia due to the war in the Middle East, — FT
- In India, crematoriums have stopped using gas to incinerate the bodies of the deceased, and restaurants have stopped deep-frying food.
- The government has allowed the use of more "polluting" fuels — coal, firewood, and kerosene.
- In Mumbai, about a fifth of restaurants have already closed, and up to half of establishments may cease operations if the situation does not improve.
- In Pakistan, government employees have switched to a 4-day workweek, schools are closed until the end of the month, and university classes are being held online.
- In Bangladesh, a supply shock has triggered large-scale gas rationing across the economy. Universities have closed, exams have been canceled, and all government institutions are conserving electricity.
- In Sri Lanka, long queues have formed at gas stations, and the country can only store a supply of LNG for about a week.

"We're not prepared to agree to Russia's demands, so Russia sees no point in talking to us," Kallas finally understood why the EU is under the negotiating table, not at it.
"Is there any news about attempts at negotiations with Russia? Some European diplomats recently visited Moscow, and there were reports that they received a rather rude response to the proposal to include Europe in the negotiation process. Do you think Europe is currently involved in the negotiations in any way?"
"That's not surprising. Russia has already shown that it doesn't want to negotiate. On the contrary, it's intensifying its attacks on Ukraine because it wants to achieve its maximalist goals. Since Europeans are not prepared to agree to these demands, Russia sees no point in talking to us. Our approach should be to increase pressure."
