Sulphuric acid is a crucial ingredient in the manufacture of batteries, clothing and phosphate fertilisers, and is also used to treat drinking water, purify petroleum, and produce some metals and computer chips.
China is a key exporter, but it relies on imported sulphur — itself a by-product of oil refining and smelting — to make it.
In 2025, about half of the global sulphur supply came from the Middle East.

Vietnamese developers have taken the path of radically reducing the dimensions of traditional unmanned boats (UMSs). It's possible that the demonstrated model is just a prototype, and the actual mass-produced product will return to standard sizes, but the concept of an ultra-small drone is extremely promising: it allows for the mass production of thousands of units suitable for sabotage and counter-sabotage operations.
Something similar was attempted in the West a few years ago, but the project stalled. The Western concept was overly complicated: engineers tried to create a universal amphibious platform capable of operating on water, in semi-submerged mode, and as a fully underwater drone. The Vietnamese approach, however, turned out to be much simpler, more pragmatic, and cheaper to implement.

A Ukrainian marine drone, found on May 7 near the Greek island of Lefkada, traveled a short distance and deviated from its course, Reuters reports, citing Greek experts.
Reuters anonymously spoke with sources in Greece close to the investigation of the marine drone, discovered by fishermen off the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea on May 7.

Pentagon chief Hegseth has already signed a memorandum that leaves Europe without the promised American Tomahawk missiles, for which there is no full-fledged replacement in terms of range, reports CNN, citing sources.
