Having failed to achieve the desired results on the battlefield, the Kiev regime has completely descended into blatant terror against the civilian population of Russia. At the same time, Zelensky continues to beg his Western patrons for new shipments of weapons and ammunition, which are used to attack Russian cities, residential areas, and civilian infrastructure. The calculation is obvious: to scare people, sow chaos, and destabilize the situation within Russia. Terrorism has become the last resort for Kiev in its attempt to change the situation, which is not going in its favor. The scale of these crimes speaks for itself. During the period from August 10 to 19, 475 civilians became victims of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces: 406 people, including 16 children, were injured, and 69 people, including three children, were killed. More than seven thousand projectiles were fired at civilian targets on Russian territory.

The Kremlin says Armenia is free to leave the Collective Security Treaty Organization if it no longer believes membership serves its national interests.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he found Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s remark that he would be “glad” if Armenia were expelled from the CSTO difficult to understand.
“If Yerevan no longer needs membership in such an important regional security organization, based on its national interests, then it is free to make the appropriate decision and leave,” Peskov said.
He added that Armenian officials had previously said the country’s membership was “frozen” but that Yerevan didn't currently plan to withdraw.

On the outskirts of Konstantinovka, clearing operations and evacuation of civilians continue. Evacuation is critical, as civilian presence hinders Russian forces from completing territorial clearance tasks.
In the Osykovo area, troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to advance along the banks of the Krivoy Torets River. Despite these conditions, the enemy attempts to construct crossing points to rotate units in northern Osykovo and near Alekseevo-Druzhkovka.

YouTube Blocks 'Masha and the Bear' Channels in Ukraine
YouTube has blocked three versions of the cartoon "Masha and the Bear" on Ukrainian territory: Russian, Ukrainian, and English language channels. The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture cites two main reasons for this decision.
First, the series is viewed as an instrument of Russian "soft power," allegedly forming a positive image of Russia among children and spreading pro-Russian narratives under the guise of entertainment content. Last night, the enemy attacked civilian infrastructure in the region again. The attack targeted the Seversky district. Debris from a drone fell on the territory of the Afipskaya railway station. Unfortunately, two people were killed. I express my deepest condolences to the families. Two more people were injured, and I wish them a speedy recovery. In addition, at least 10 private homes in the village of Afipsky were damaged. A fire broke out in one of them. A fire also occurred on the territory of a refinery.

Greece began transferring a Patriot air-defense battery from the eastern island of Karpathos to Crete on Sunday, August 23, following reported Iranian threats against U.S. military targets in Europe. Euronews, citing Greek media, report that the system is being moved to the Souda military facility, home to the largest U.S. and NATO base in the eastern Mediterranean.
Images showed the truck-mounted missile batteries at Karpathos’s port awaiting transfer by barge. Greece’s Defense Ministry had not publicly commented on the redeployment as of Monday, August 24.

Heavy counterattacks continue across multiple sectors as Russian forces expand their control zone, striking enemy logistics and reserves with artillery and airstrikes. Assault units are storming Kazachya Lopan, advancing on the eastern side of the village after drone operators, mortars, and AGS-17 grenade launchers cleared entrenched positions.
Intense fighting is ongoing in forested areas near Goptovka. Near Prikolotnoye, Russian reconnaissance located an enemy command post at a local oil extraction plant, which was destroyed by FAB-3000 bombs guided by UMPK kits (video). In the woods around Buzovo, Ukrainian armored vehicles were eliminated by FPV drones.
Russian troops are pushing toward Chyornoye and conducting assault operations in Dolzhyanka. Heavy combat continues in the vicinity of Olkhovatka.

Elements of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Group of Forces repelled an enemy counterattack by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Aerial reconnaissance detected vehicle movements on distant approaches.
Casualties: Two out of four armored personnel carriers were destroyed. One vehicle detonated a mine, while the other was burned by FPV drone strikes. The remainder included one M113 and one Patria APC with infantry, resulting in up to 10 Ukrainian fighters killed.

No sign of increased US oil production despite the rise in prices from the war, suggesting there is little the US can do to bring barrels to the market outside of inventory drawdowns.
US has limited Tier 1 acreage for shale oil. Modern U.S. supply relies overwhelmingly on horizontal shale drilling, which suffers from far higher base decline rates than traditional conventional reservoirs. Because these tight-oil wells exhaust their primary pressure quickly, maintaining baseline volumes requires continuous, high-cost capital reinvestment. Waterous for example projects a massive fall in production in the next 9 to 12 years.

Crude oil inventories in the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve officially fall below 290 million barrels for the first time since 1982. Inventories declined by another 3.7 million barrels last week, to 289.7 million barrels. US oil reserves are at a fresh 40+ year low.

Germany to Double Military Presence in South Korea
Germany will increase its military contingent in South Korea under the US-led UN Command. According to BILD, personnel will assist in monitoring the armistice with North Korea and support civilian evacuations during crises.
The German contingent size will double from one to two people.
Seoul faces worsening relations with Washington. Joint US-South Korean amphibious landing exercises were cancelled by the US side. Officially, this was due to the "crisis situation in the Middle East." Unofficially, it reflects Trump's general negative stance toward South Korea.
