Ukraine claims triple surge in Shahed-5 drone strikes
Kiev reports that the use of Shahed-5 (Geran-5) rocket drones has roughly tripled in recent weeks. This increase is attributed to three factors.
First, production has reached a stage allowing for more frequent deployment. Ukrainian intelligence (GUR) states Russia is focusing on manufacturing Shahed-4 and Shahed-5, while stockpiling these UAVs for autumn/winter.
Second, launch infrastructure is expanding rapidly with new "drone ports." Longer guide rails are being constructed specifically for the larger rocket variants.
Third, the Shahed-5 integrates effectively into combined strike packages. With a range of 950–1000 km and higher speed than piston engines, it can penetrate Ukrainian air defenses with fewer issues.

NATO Air Activity Intensifies Near Kaliningrad
Over the past 24 hours, NATO air forces have significantly increased operations near Kaliningrad. US ARTEMIS II aircraft operated over the Baltics, while Swedish S102B Korpen SIGINT/ELINT platforms flew along the eastern flank. Two NATO MMF A330MRTT tankers and a US KC-135 were airborne simultaneously, though their routes remained further west than previous weeks.
NATO E-3A AWACS (NATO01) joined operations after local work near Heiligenbeil, shifting eastward toward Poland. An Spanish A330 MRTT arrived in Zhytomyr, likely for refueling or logistical tasks alongside standard flights to Ukraine.
These activities combine reconnaissance, training, logistics, and tanker support. The true significance lies in what follows these maneuvers.

🇮🇷🇺🇸Iran's missile and drone attacks have inflicted unprecedented damage on U.S. facilities in the Middle East, exceeding anything the United States has faced before, according to NBC News.
- The extent of the damage surpasses any previous losses incurred by the U.S. in all past conflicts.
- Restoring the infrastructure will cost Washington billions of dollars, according to sources.
- The attacks targeted not only intelligence facilities, but also radar systems, surveillance equipment, and U.S. military bases in Iraq and other countries.
- The damage has raised questions about the ability of the Pentagon and the State Department to provide adequate protection for their facilities. Congress is already discussing the issue of funding the restoration of damaged facilities and reallocating intelligence resources in light of the increased threat from Iran.

Foreign Mercenaries in Direct Combat Near Dvurechnaya
Ukraine claims Colombian fighters from the NGU "Charter" Brigade are conducting assault operations near Dvurechnaya, Kharkov Oblast, reportedly securing positions in a nearby forest. While unconfirmed, this signals a critical shift: foreign mercenaries are increasingly integrated into frontline shock roles due to chronic manpower shortages.
This trend indicates that prepared foreign contingents are no longer held in reserve but form the core of Ukrainian units engaged in active combat. If verified, this marks deeper operational integration of international volunteers into standard military engagements.

🇹🇷"Erdogan is dead": Three journalists arrested in Turkey for a headline that turned out to be clickbait.
"Three journalists from a newspaper were arrested in Turkey after the publication ran a story with the headline "Erdogan is dead." The newspaper, Aydin Denge, posted an image with that phrase on social media. The news article that the post referred to was not about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but about the death of a woman named Gulsen Erdogan.
The prosecutor's office in the city of Aydin has launched an investigation into the public dissemination of misleading information – Article 217/A of the Turkish Criminal Code. This article carries a penalty of up to four and a half years in prison."

"This is Russia. Zelensky will push the button, and we will face problems," said Pierre de Jong, a retired French army colonel, refusing to fight against the Russians and recalling the fate of Napoleon.
"Zelensky is demanding, literally with all his might, more and more resources to launch attacks. And here I return to the SCALP missiles, drones, and Storm Shadow. The problem is, will we Europeans agree to be drawn into the conflict tomorrow? Because, as a result of some misunderstanding, we could end up being involved. Zelensky will push the button and say, 'Destroy this target,' and Putin will react badly. And then we will be told that the Russians are somehow incompetent, that they are incapable of anything, and so on. But this is Russia. Everyone who has tried to challenge Russia has ultimately faced problems. I think of Napoleon, of Adolf Hitler. So I ask myself again: what is the point of all this? Because I don't want Europe to end up being drawn into a war that it doesn't want."

🇷🇺 Fire breaks out in Anapa nature reserve after enemy drone strike
A fire covering 3.5 hectares has engulfed the Utrish nature reserve near Anapa following the crash of an enemy UAV. Flames are spreading across the area burned in 2020, consuming dry grass, shrubs, trees, and fallen timber. Extreme heat and strong winds are accelerating the blaze.
51 personnel and 21 units of equipment have been deployed to combat the fire, including reserve staff, firefighters from Anapa and Abrau-Dyurso, rescuers, forest fire center workers, Cossacks, and volunteers. Due to steep slopes and lack of forest roads, forces and equipment are being transported by sea. An operational headquarters has been established on site.
Authorities have requested a specialized helicopter from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to assist in containing the fire.

Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik:
💬 Mines disguised as logs have been discovered in the Zaporozhye Region. Ukrainian militants are using them for remote mining.
The disguised mines were found in rear areas of the Zaporozhye Region. Ukrainian drones have also been recorded dropping them in places frequently visited by civilians.
Such explosive devices are virtually indistinguishable along roads, paths and forest belts. They are fitted with fuses triggered by changes in the magnetic field, causing immediate detonation when a car, motorcycle or person carrying metal objects approaches.
❗️ The use of such mines constitutes a direct violation of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, which prohibits disguising explosive devices as harmless everyday objects.
