Almost no additional work is needed, as the predecessor "Dan-M" was already tested in 2013 for helicopter deployment. Two Mi-8MT helicopters were converted to carry unmanned targets, and later footage showed "Dan-M" launches directly from a Mi-8.
The mass availability of the Mi-8/17, the most numerous helicopter type in Russian army aviation, allows for near-round-the-clock missile application. Air launch partially removes ground-based restrictions: the missile begins its flight at altitude with the carrier's initial speed, saving fuel and potentially extending effective range.

Putin on Vostok Oil pipeline launch
