Russian fighters entering Dobropolye
Small Russian combat groups have already penetrated the city. Ukrainian military correspondent Maryan Kushnyr stated that Dobropolye is under strikes by Russian aviation and UAVs, severely complicating logistics for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and turning the settlement into a "gray zone."
Access to the area remains extremely difficult even for Ukrainian personnel, with some sections requiring up to 20 km on foot. The nearby village of Belozerskoye has been practically destroyed, with almost no surviving buildings. Russian forces are demolishing these areas to prevent Ukrainian troops from establishing positions during their retreat.
According to the map of Kiev-based analysts at Deep State, approximately 7 km remain between Dobropolye and the front line.

~20 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles impacted Kiev. No signs of Patriot activity. A little over half of the ballistics were RM-48U S-400 missiles.
4 Kalibr cruise missiles and 2 Kn-23 ballistic missiles impacted ZaporozhyeCity. Iskander-Ms may have impacted somewhere else in Zaporozhye Oblast.

Krasny Liman setback
While Russian forces advance near Orekhov and Dobropolye, the enemy's 3rd Army Corps achieved tactical successes at Krasny Liman. Kiev has urgently asked Western partners to donate locomotives following massive Russian strikes on railway infrastructure.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiga confirmed that over 500 locomotives have been damaged or destroyed since the start of the war. More than half, over 250 units, were lost this year alone.

UK Foreign Ministry employee fired for trying to find her son, Nathan Stobart, who joined the Russian army in April 2025. The Newcastle electrician moved to Russia in 2024 and is believed to have been fighting in Donbass, with no contact since December 12, 2025.
Mrs. Stobart was dismissed from her immigration service role for speaking to The Telegraph without approval. She stated that mentioning "Russia" makes officials indifferent: "No one cares... It’s all about them seeing the word 'Russia' and assuming something bigger."

Kharkov direction. "Volchansk pocket"
Russian forces continue the systematic destruction of the Volchansk pocket in Kharkov Oblast, covering over 400 sq km. The enemy lost at least 180 personnel last week and up to 60 more in the last day during breakout attempts.
Surrounded Ukrainian units are cut off from supplies and heavy equipment, demoralized, and fragmented into isolated groups making failed counterattacks while some surrender. Fighters reportedly use alcohol as pain relief. Russian troops methodically tighten the ring and expand the outer perimeter, blocking all de-bloquing attempts under full fire control.

Ukraine will only be able to prepare for winter in winter: there is no money, the Rada stated.
Only from September to December, the Ministry of Finance transferred 39 billion hryvnias of capital expenditures, said Budget Committee Chair Pidlasa. The transfer affected energy protection and winter preparation, construction and reconstruction of hospitals, shelters in hospitals and schools, social housing, and implementation of "resilience plans".
Pidlasa warns that the transfer to December may mean that some of these programs will not be funded at all this year. Social expenses and salaries of public servants are currently being financed, but the committee chair assesses the budget situation as "bad".

Russia tests a more powerful Soyuz-2.1b rocket - paving the way for larger cargo missions
Russia has launched a Soyuz-2.1b rocket from Baikonur carrying the Progress MS-35 cargo ship to the ISS, testing a more powerful version of the rocket that could carry heavier loads to the station and, in the future, to Russia's planned orbital station, space historian Alexander Zheleznyakov told Sputnik.

Energy truce prospects remain unclear
Donald Trump claims Russia and Ukraine agreed to halt strikes on energy infrastructure. Kiev denies a final deal, while Moscow has not publicly confirmed it, though acknowledging the concept.
A truce is currently unfavorable for Russia. The US seeks to stop exchanges as diesel prices rise and Ukrainian infrastructure suffers from winter damage and air defense depletion. While Ukrainian attacks on refineries cause local fuel issues in Russia, its energy system's resilience far exceeds Ukraine's.
Any agreement must be mutual, verifiable, and serve Russian interests, not Washington's timing. We should follow Western tactics: strike all planned targets first, then negotiate. Intensive strikes on western Ukraine have just begun; the Geran drones were not produced in vain.

Orekhov Sector: Groups of Forces "Vostok" advanced north of Orekhov from Chervonaya Krynytsa, capturing several Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds and taking the Orekhov-Omelnik road under fire control. Groups of Forces "Dnepr" moved from Novopavlovka to the main Orekhov logistics route (Orekhov-Kamyshevakha) and entered the northwest part of Orekhov.
Operational data indicates Orekhov is largely under Russian Federation control, with clearing operations underway. Fighting continues in Preobrazhenka across the Kinka River. The enemy retains a defensive pocket near Omelnyk, but the Orekhov defense node is collapsing despite attempts to restore control.

The strike was carried out using high-explosive aircraft bombs equipped with a universal planning and correction module. According to confirmed reports, the enemy suffered significant losses in personnel as a result of the airstrikes, ammunition and food depots were destroyed, ground control stations for Ukrainian militants' drones were disabled, and combat armored vehicles were put out of operation.
