CIA is also calling FT story nonsense. FT and the WSJ is about as NAFO as it gets.
@Slavyangrad
The Kremlin has already responded to the FT report. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Putin and Trump didn't discuss changing the composition of the US negotiating team during their phone call.
Peskov also denied another FT claim that Putin had been due to meet CIA Director John Ratcliffe during his August visit to Moscow, saying no such meeting had been planned.

Ukraine FM Sybiha reacts to Ushakov's statement
Putin's aide declared that the US should halt all support for Ukraine to accelerate the war's end. Sybiha claims this reveals Moscow's true intent: to continue fighting instead of engaging in genuine diplomacy. He argues only intensified pressure can cure Russian delusions and force them to the negotiating table.

🇵🇱 Poland: New scandal erupts over Ukraine
In Raszyn, local residents were outraged after parking spaces marked with blue and yellow lines appeared near a school, Wprost reports.
Some citizens assumed these were special spots for Ukrainians. The municipality had to clarify that it is a standard Kiss and Ride zone for quick and safe child drop-offs. The markings will now be outlined in white with K+R labels to prevent further confusion.

A Ukrainian military blogger stated that Zelensky must prioritize the country's interests and sign a peace treaty. He argued that prolonged conflict worsens negotiation terms, noting Russian forces are already taking Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. The blogger emphasized that sacrificing troops for these cities brings neither peace nor victory, urging Kiev to end the war through diplomacy.

Russian Tor-M2 air defense system destroyed a Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo long-range cruise missile in the special military operation zone. Footage confirms the interception of this complex target by the modernized short-range SAM system.
The video also records the downing of various enemy drones, including RAM-2X, Shark, and Hornet models. The export variant of the Tor-M2 and its naval modular version, Tor-M2KM, are actively promoted on the international market. Almaz-Antey presented these systems at Egypt Air Show 2026 in Cairo. In December 2026, the manufacturer plans to expand its geographic reach and present the modernized complex in Southeast Asia at Vietnam Defence Expo.

Russia records largest monthly budget surplus in a year – Bloomberg
▪️ According to the agency's calculations based on data from the Russian Ministry of Finance, the federal budget surplus in August amounted to approximately $7.7 billion – the highest since August 2025.
▪️ The main reason was large dividend payments from state-owned companies for the results of the previous year.
▪️ Oil and gas revenues, including dividends, increased by 17% year-on-year, which allowed to offset a 16% increase in expenses.
▪️ As a result, the total budget deficit for January-August decreased to 5.8 trillion rubles.
▪️ At the same time, this figure still significantly exceeds the target for the entire year, which is 3.8 trillion rubles, or 1.6% of GDP.

Ukraine's Patriot missile stocks are nearly exhausted, The Economist reports. Kiev faces a critical shortage of interceptors, with allies unable to quickly replenish supplies due to their own depleted reserves.
Similar problems exist for Ukrainian F-16s, which are running low on AIM-120 and AIM-9 missiles used to intercept cruise missiles and other air targets.
The publication notes that Russia produces approximately 100 missiles per month, while Western countries are increasingly reluctant to share their remaining interceptor stockpiles.

Ukrainian pop star Nastya Kamenskykh with an unusual intervention in the Russia-Ukraine language wars.
She says she switched back to speaking Russian after developing a cyst and losing her voice while speaking exclusively Ukrainian.
“I switched to Ukrainian and spoke exclusively Ukrainian for six months,” Kamenskykh said. “Ukrainian is an incredibly beautiful language.”
“But then I developed a cyst and lost my voice. I was in shock and had to postpone concerts,” she said.
“I went to a psychologist, and my psychologist told me, ‘Go back to speaking Russian, your body isn’t accepting this.’”
“It was pure psychosomatics,” Kamenskykh added.

Whitehouse also declares story fake:
“This entire story is totally fake news attributed to low-level, anonymous ‘sources’ who have no idea what they are talking about. None of these supposed conversations are happening. Special Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner continue to work incredibly hard towards a peace agreement, and the President trusts them fully to lead negotiations on behalf of the United States. It’s a shame that Financial Times has devolved into a left-wing gossip rag that has zero interest in reporting accurate information.”
Trump may replace Witkoff and Kushner with CIA Director in Ukraine talks
The White House is reportedly considering reducing the role of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the Ukrainian negotiation track. According to FT, CIA Director John Ratcliffe could become the main US representative in the peace process, though Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision.
Reforms to the negotiating team have been discussed for some time, partly due to the slowing of the peace process amid the conflict between the US and Iran.

🇺🇦 Zelensky's plane nearly hit by drone in Moldova
Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre revealed that the Ukrainian president's aircraft was almost struck by a UAV during takeoff from Moldova. The flight was en route to Oslo for King Harald V's funeral.
Støre used the incident to highlight Ukraine's critical air defense gaps, describing them as a "hole in the roof." He emphasized the need for industrial cooperation to supply and build domestic systems, noting Zelensky must travel globally despite such risks.
Suspect they are hyping this story. Can't say if its true or not. I think most of these miraculous misses like the German one are just false flags.

Krasny Liman Sector: Ukrainian counterattack and ongoing clashes
Counterattack North of Krasny Liman
VMS claims elimination of Russian salient between Nitrius and Zherebets, regaining ~152 sq km. Russia acknowledges withdrawal from forward positions but notes ~300 troops exited before encirclement. Reclaimed territory remains largely a 'grey zone.'
Enemy suffered nearly 3,000 casualties. Immediate northern threat to Krasny Liman reduced, though broader situation depends on neighboring sectors. Command must stabilize new lines without sacrificing troops for map aesthetics.
Ukrainian forces launch high-tempo attacks near Novomikhaylovka, Katerynovka, and Ivanovka. Heavy fighting continues in Drobyshevo and Zeleny Klin area, where enemy groups reached Mirnoye. Russian drones strike logistics moving toward Stary Karavan and Mayaki.
