🇺🇸 Trump Blames Ukraine for Diesel Price Surge
US President Donald Trump stated that rising diesel fuel prices are primarily driven by Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, rather than instability in the Middle East.
"Diesel is suffering significantly more because of what is happening in Russia," Trump said. He noted that refineries producing diesel are being taken out of operation at a "quite alarming rate." According to him, if these attacks had not occurred, the US would not be facing current diesel supply issues.
Context
Trump previously urged Zelensky to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, but received a refusal. The White House emphasizes that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine remains the main cause of global diesel market disruptions.

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Fedorov plans to create a "robot humanoid army"
Fedorov intends to build humanoid robots capable of partially replacing infantry and assault troops, according to Forbes Ukraine. The initial phase focuses on simpler "humanoid-like" machines designed for tasks such as reloading machine guns, replacing sensor batteries, and launching drones.
Current platforms cost $40-70k, but Fedorov aims to reduce this to $10-20k for mass deployment. His team is evaluating companies with ready prototypes and scaling capabilities. The project continues in the private sector after his departure from government, operating without state resources.

Kiev: 'Euroterminal' struck
A Geran-5 drone hit the Euroterminal warehouse complex overnight, causing a massive fire. The facility houses ERC, Ukraine's major distributor of servers, telecom equipment, and IT hardware from brands like Dell, HP, and Cisco.
Strategic Impact
This node is critical for supplying spare parts to 137 service partners nationwide. Unlike data centers that process information, this hub provides the physical infrastructure needed to build and repair networks. Strikes on such distribution points degrade Ukraine's ability to maintain its digital and military communications systems.

France was supposed to unveil a memorial this weekend to 37 Soviet women who fought for its freedom. Then the official ceremony was cancelled.
The memorial was unveiled anyway.
The women belonged to Rodina - an extraordinary all-female partisan detachment formed in 1944 by Soviet forced laborers who escaped from the Errouville camp and joined the French Resistance
37 women. Russians and Belarusians, fighting Nazis on French soil.
France once knew exactly what that meant. When de Gaulle visited the Soviet Union in 1966, members of Rodina were among the former Resistance fighters he greeted.
60 years later, remembering them has become considerably more complicated.
The official inauguration was postponed amid political controversy. But the families had already travelled to France. The sculptures were already there. So were the memories.
And on Sepr 26, the mayor, descendants of the women, Russian and Belarusian representatives and others gathered and unveiled the memorial anyway.

🇷🇺 Russian Foreign Ministry declares European arms plants supplying Ukraine as potential military targets
The statement was issued in response to questions about Poland's readiness to host Patriot interceptor missile production for Ukraine.
Maria Zakharova stated: "One should not assume that military factories outside Ukraine producing weapons for the Kiev regime will be safe. Those who think so are mistaken."
According to her, establishing arms production and joint ventures signifies direct involvement of European countries in the conflict and, from Moscow's perspective, prolongs its settlement.

🇷🇺 Russia First Uses Special Warhead on Kiev Infrastructure
Sergey Beskrestnov, advisor to Zelensky, confirmed the first application of a cumulative-cutting special warhead (KRSN) via reactive UAV in Kiev. The munition targets high-voltage supports and metal bridges.
Technical Details:
The KRSN consists of a 40 kg main charge and four impact modules (~5 kg each), totaling ~60 kg. This marks a shift toward precision strikes on critical grid elements.
Target: 330 kV Line
The strike hit the overhead line transition from CHP-5 to Brovary across the Dnieper. This is part of the Kiev energy hub's main network, not just local distribution. Damage to these specialized long-span pylons disrupts major power flows and fiber-optic control channels, requiring complex structural repairs rather than simple wire replacement.

🇷🇺 🇺🇦 Strikes on Kiev's Power Lines: Impact Shifts from Generation to Transmission
Geran drones repeatedly struck high-voltage power lines near Kiev, causing fireballs at pylons and dense smoke. Although some structures remain standing, transmission capacity is severely degraded.
Strategic Impact: Targeting transmission disrupts the chain (Plant -> Substation -> Line -> Consumer). Even with existing generation, electricity cannot reach consumers if grid links fail.
Ukraine added 1.8 GW of distributed gas generation, but this relies on intact grid connections. Production without delivery capability is ineffective.
Automatic systems reroute load, but overloaded remaining lines trigger local restrictions. The crisis has shifted from a lack of generation to an inability to transmit available power to specific areas.

Ukraine reports Russia is deploying a new version of the "Geran-4" drone featuring "whiskers" on the front hull. One such drone reportedly arrived during recent strikes on Kiev. The receiving side suggests these may be contact initiators for the charge. It remains unclear if this modification aims to prevent study of crashed drones by forcing detonation upon surface contact or serves another purpose.

Russia debuts new warhead on jet drone
Russian forces used a special cumulative-cutting warhead (KRSN) for the first time to destroy high-voltage power lines and metal bridge structures. The 40 kg main charge includes four additional striking modules.
While generators and substations can be protected with modular defense systems, long-distance transmission lines remain virtually impossible to shield.

🪖 Officer's Diary: The Origins of Cossacks
One theory traces Cossacks to Prince Svyatoslav Igorevich, who ordered his druzhina to guard the Ra River. He initiated warriors into "Cossack" status by binding their forelocks (chubs) and shaving the rest, symbolizing a voluntary oath to defend the land.
Another version places them in Ancient Rus as Kozachi, swift mounted scouts functioning as border guards. Entry required innate tactical wit and lightning reflexes; these traits could not be taught. Historically, they defended settlements unpaid, viewing protection as vital for clan survival rather than state service.
Currently, approximately 12,000 of the 50,000 Cossacks are operating in the SVO zone.

🇷🇺 Velikoburluk Direction: Volchansk Sector
GrV "North" forces broke the first defense line along the Polyanaya River, reaching the left bank near Shevchenkovoye-Polnoye and seizing Petropavlovka. They are now clearing defenses around Prikolotnoye and Malyy Burluk.
After fierce counter-battles, Russian troops captured Bugaevka, threatening the left flank of the second Ukrainian defense line protecting approaches to Velikiy Burluk and supply routes between Stary Saltov and the town.
Elimination of Encircled Groups:
North of Pricolotnoye, liquidation continues in the Reznikov-Vavarovskaya pocket. Forces took Shabelnoye, cut off Rublenoye, and secured Komissarovo-Kreydanka-Lozhakovo.
This progress creates strategic risks for the enemy's Kupyansk grouping, potentially exposing rear areas toward Pechenega Reservoir and Chuguev.

🇷🇺 Odessa: Data center hit
At approx. 23:00, a strike targeted the "Technologies of the Future" (Hosting UA) data center at 46 Dalnitskaya St. Intense fire observed in the building's upper section.
Impact on port infrastructure
The facility serves as a critical computing and backup layer for Odessa's port logistics ecosystem. While central state systems like DocPort may remain operational via cloud redundancy, private operators, agents, and forwarders rely on this commercial hub for corporate apps, document flow, and API integrations.
Disruption threatens to cause synchronization issues and delays in cargo handling coordination among private chain participants, even if physical transshipment continues. This follows recent strikes on Kiev-based digital nodes.

Ukraine faces acute shortage of turbojet engines
First Contact founder Valery Borovik states that Ukraine must purchase necessary engines for its own jet drones through third countries or scavenge them as spare parts from other products. "Russia has the advantage here: they have established their own production of these engines and also purchase them from China," Borovik said.
Rada deputy Sergey Rakhmanin previously highlighted the same issue, noting that the engine shortage prevents Ukraine from deploying cheap jet interceptors to counter Russian jet-powered Geran drones.

Olga and Tara welcome Fyodor Lukyanov, Program Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club — for a deep-dive perspective on the escalation between Russia and Europe, why both Kiev and Moscow believe they can win the war, and how the West’s ideological habits distort the actual politician President Putin is.
Is Europe using Russia as a convenient political foe to unify domestic populations and mask internal economic and social struggles? Why does Fyodor Lukyanov argue that current Western diplomatic approaches are built on a non-starter premise? And how has centuries of European distrust shaped today’s military-political crisis?
Are Trump’s assessments of the conflict overly simplified and missing the root causes that date back to the 1980s? Is a military breakthrough in the Russia-Ukraine conflict still possible? And what makes the Western belief in a potential Russian collapse a dangerous historical misconception?
Why is Western demonization completely distorting the reality of Vladimir Putin’s political profile? Why does Fyodor Lukyanov call him the most pro-Western leader in the history of Russia, even if ‘at the first stage’? And why does Putin remain genuinely committed to finding inclusive solutions even when Europe repeatedly rejects them?
