🇺🇸 Trump plans to pressure Zelensky and the EU for a December peace deal
The Atlantic reports that President Trump aims to sign a Ukraine peace agreement at the G20 summit in Miami this December. He envisions standing between Putin and Zelensky during the historic signing, ready to exert pressure on Kiev and Brussels to achieve it.
A potential precursor could be a November meeting of Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping in China, where the US president is interested in dividing spheres of influence among the three powers.
Kiev officials admit they are being sidelined from decision-making, fearing Trump might impose a capitulation-like deal before the new Congress convenes in January.

🇺🇸 Senator Murphy Criticizes Trump's Ukraine Strategy
Senator Chris Murphy stated that President Trump has developed a new strategy to end the war in Ukraine, which he described as "a catastrophe."
Murphy argued that recent actions by the White House aim to place Russia in a maximally advantageous position and secure a ceasefire on Russian terms. He claimed there are no grounds for this approach, noting that despite Trump's refusal to assist, Ukraine achieved significant battlefield successes over the past year.
The senator suggested that Putin leveraged some form of influence over the US president to request reciprocal services, resulting in a series of decisions detrimental to Ukrainian interests.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Zelensky of lying about restrictions on access to US intelligence and Starlink.
Rubio stated that no suspension of services occurred and urged Zelensky to focus on ending the war rather than spreading misinformation to the media.
This follows earlier claims by Zelensky that Starlink speeds remain limited across various sectors of the front.

Russia is reportedly building a 500-meter over-the-horizon radar in Kaliningrad. The specific complex remains unknown, but the site's construction may explain recent surges in NATO reconnaissance aviation activity. The elongated mast fields resemble low-frequency (HF or VHF) stations, possibly part of the "Container" radar system.
A similar installation exists in Mordovia and can detect hypersonic missiles at ranges up to 3,000 kilometers.

Russian military satellite Kosmos-2612 approaches Ukrainian spy satellite ICEYE-X36
Independent space observers report that the Russian satellite executed a series of targeted maneuvers on September 30 and October 12, 15, and 16. These actions allowed Kosmos-2612 to match the orbit, inclination, and period of the commercial radar reconnaissance satellite ICEYE-X36, which is operated by a US subsidiary of the Finnish company ICEYE.
On the night of October 18, the two spacecraft may have come within hundreds of meters or less of each other. While no physical impact was detected, the proximity suggests an inspection or test of maneuvering technologies. Such Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) carry potential anti-satellite implications, as a craft capable of controlled approach could theoretically affect another satellite physically or via electronic means.

"The US has threatened Europe with retaliatory measures due to restrictions on Starlink": Washington will further slow down Starlink's operations in Ukraine if the EU restricts access to its market for American tech giants.
"Washington may take 'devastating' retaliatory measures against European companies if Brussels continues to promote plans to restrict access for American competitors, including SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk.
The warning came after the European Commission proposed reserving a portion of the radio frequency spectrum that allows smartphones to connect directly to satellites for European companies. This measure would limit access to these frequencies for American and Chinese operators, including SpaceX, which operates the Starlink satellite network.
The European Commission's proposal has already drawn sharp criticism from SpaceX. The company warned that the new restrictions could worsen communication quality in Ukraine, where Starlink plays a vital role in providing civilian and military communications since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. The initiative is part of a broader EU strategy to strengthen technological sovereignty."

🇷🇺 Russian tankers use "ghost" coordinates to evade drone attacks
According to FT, vessels of Russia's "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea are simultaneously transmitting real and fake positions via AIS systems to confuse Ukrainian drones. Researchers identified at least 12 sanctioned tankers using identical spoofing equipment, suggesting centralized coordination.
The tactic is particularly active near the Bosphorus, where one tanker appeared 800 km apart from its actual location. Meanwhile, over 80 ships have switched to the Russian flag since July, with tankers now fitted with protective nets against UAVs.
Windward estimates the shadow fleet comprises 1,229 large vessels, over 75% of which are under Western sanctions.

🇩🇪 German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Warns of Ukraine's Capitulation
Friedrich Merz stated that his primary concern is not the German economy, the EU, America, or China, but rather Russia's influence and its success in destabilising Western societies.
He declared that capitulation, especially unconditional surrender by Ukraine, is unacceptable. Merz argued that such an outcome would effectively mean "the capitulation of all of us," equating Ukraine's defeat with the collapse of the entire European Union.
Consequently, he affirmed his resolute support for Kiev, describing it as essential to Germany's own national interests.
He probably has convinced himself he is the most hated man in Germany because of Russia and not that he sucks at his job

Group "Vostok" seized Ukrainian drone command hubs near Velikomikhaylovka
Stormtroopers captured underground bunkers functioning as relay nodes for AFU drones. The sites contained powerful signal repeaters to bypass Russian EW systems, professional antenna complexes, and hundreds of meters of shielded cable.
The rapid assault prevented the enemy from evacuating or destroying the equipment. Operators fled, leaving behind gear essential for controlling their remaining UAVs.
This capture severely degrades Ukrainian coordination in the sector. Without these hubs, AFU forces are effectively blinded, losing the ability to direct artillery fire and launch precision strikes on Russian positions.

🇷🇺 VK Data Center Defends Against AFU Drone Attack in St. Petersburg
The VKontakte (VK) data center in St. Petersburg successfully repelled a massive drone assault launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). The facility features multi-layered protection systems designed to counter aerial threats.
Defense Outcomes:
• Dozens of drones were deployed in the attack.
• A portion of the UAVs were shot down on approach.
• Others became entangled in anti-drone nets and failed to detonate.
• Explosions from remaining drones caused no damage due to protective metal structures.
Oleg Tsaryov noted the effectiveness of the defensive measures, confirming the infrastructure remained intact despite the saturation attack.
