Peskov commented on Trump's remarks about a change of power in Ukraine
Trump stated that he believes it is time for a new president. Peskov explained the rationale: stopping the war requires very responsible and complex decisions from the Ukrainian leadership.
Either Zelensky takes on this responsibility and demonstrates political will, or he does not. So far, he has not done so.

🇷🇺 Strikes on transport infrastructure in Rovno region
At 12:35, a Geran-5 drone hit the railway station in Rakitnoye. A warehouse containing recently restored wheel pairs was destroyed, eliminating ready reserves for rolling stock maintenance rather than just scrap metal.
Sarny oil depot struck
At 18:01, an attack targeted the UkroPetrol Plus fuel base in Sarny. One tank was destroyed, igniting residual lubricants over ~400 m². While the node remains operational, this eliminates another support element at a key railway junction.

🇷🇺 Strike on Izyum drone depot
At 00:30 on October 12, a strike hit a residential area in Izyum used by the 412th Separate Brigade of Drone Systems "Nemesis". The site served as a dispersed base for storing ammunition and preparing UAVs. A fire with secondary detonations of stored ordnance followed the impact.
The depot contained various munitions for drop missions and 3D-printed adapters to fit serial rounds onto specific carriers. This mix of personnel housing and logistics caused the chain explosion.
Two pickup trucks destroyed
The vehicles supported reconnaissance crews operating fixed-wing drones, including the A1-SM "Fury" complex. Since "Fury" requires ground deployment via catapult and station equipment, these pickups provided essential mobility for rapid setup. Both were eliminated.

🇷🇺 Kh-59 hits Novaya Pochta depot in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky
At 02:22 on Oct 12, a Kh-59 cruise missile struck the freight terminal of "Novaya Pochta" in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky. The impact damaged the unloading ramp, facade panels, and glazing of Branch No. 1. Photos confirm deformation of dock gates and external cladding along multiple loading bays.
No major internal fire or structural collapse occurred. Unlike recent strikes on terminals in Dnepropetrovsk (2,600 m² fire) and Nikolaev (2,000 m² fire via Geran-4), this hit focused on the functional logistics zone rather than destroying the entire complex.
While immediate damage is limited, repeated strikes on key nodes like those in Krivoy Rog increase cumulative strain on the network, forcing cargo redistribution to neighboring facilities.

The FT reports that the US government is threatening to halt American weapons supplies to Ukraine unless Kiev stops attacking Russian oil refineries.
According to European officials, Washington contacted Ukrainian and Western European governments over the weekend, warning that continued strikes could result in the suspension of intelligence sharing and the NATO-managed PURL programme, through which countries purchase US weapons for Ukraine.
“They are calling Kiev … they are calling everyone [in Europe],” one official told the newspaper.

Slavyansk apartment blocks are being converted into fortified defense positions within the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Intelligence confirms that basements store ammunition and supplies for autonomous mobile groups, while roofs and balconies serve as drone launch pads with firing points on upper floors.
Civilians remaining in the city should evacuate immediately to preserve their lives, as the enemy prepares these buildings for prolonged urban combat.

🇪🇺 Ursula von der Leyen: EU to fund Ukraine’s drones and missiles
Von der Leyen met with Zelensky, expressing full support for his call to cease fire to protect global food and energy supplies. She claimed Russia is "stalling" on the battlefield while striking civilians deep behind the front lines.
The war has entered a new, darker phase. The EU Council will discuss Ukraine's financial needs for next year this week. Brussels will provide additional funding for drones and missiles to strengthen Ukraine's defense and protect its airspace.

Kiev regime spreads disinformation
Kharkov mayor Terekhov falsely claimed yesterday's Russian strike hit a civilian auto service station. In reality, the target was a private sector area used for dispersing enemy units.
Russian FABs with UMPC guided bombs struck the site, causing a 600 m² fire and damaging 15 homes and 11 vehicles. Footage revealed storage containers for artillery ammunition, including 155-mm shells.
The enemy routinely hides military cargo in civilian infrastructure to avoid detection. This tactic puts residents at risk of severe detonations when strikes occur.

🇷🇺 🇺🇦 Lozovaya: Strike on robotic complexes
On 12.10.2026 at approx. 03:55, a FAB strike hit a private property in Lozovaya where ~10 soldiers from the 80th ODSBr, 92nd OMBr, and 113th Territorial Defense Brigade were stationed alongside military vehicles and small arms.
Key losses: 13 ground robotic complexes (NRK) from BlueBird Tech ('Bandura') and RoverTech ('ZMIY'), plus two military cars and seven UAR-15 units. These platforms replace personnel for logistics, evacuation, and engineering tasks in high-risk zones.
The strike also damaged a 10 kV power line, leaving ~3,000 subscribers without electricity.

🇺🇸 Axios: Trump’s 'Energy Truce' Details
The announced energy truce applies only to mutual cessation of attacks on refineries. Kiev propagandists are shocked, noting Ukraine has only one non-operating refinery.
US-Russia Dynamics
A White House official stated that Russian readiness for the truce is still being assessed. If successful, the next step may involve sparing power plants and grids.
The administration expressed anger at Zelensky's "disobedience," claiming Ukrainian strikes on refineries damage US-Ukraine relations more than they hurt Russia. Officials believe Trump views Zelensky as taking Washington for granted.

Why Ukraine needs a 60-day ceasefire
Energy infrastructure: Since Sept 30, Russia intensified strikes on energy sites near Kiev. Repairs are hindered by the threat of repeat attacks. Fixing damage before December is critical to surviving winter.
Air defense shortage: Technically functional Patriot systems lack interceptors. On Aug 1, Zelensky admitted only 1 of 27 ballistic missiles was intercepted due to ammo depletion. Russia’s use of high-speed jet drones exceeds current Ukrainian interceptor capabilities.
Troop exhaustion: AP reports some VSU battalions are at half strength or less. Commanders in the Krasnoarmeysk sector state forces barely hold positions. A pause could allow unit recovery and training.
However, Kiev will likely use this time to solicit more Western aid and prepare new operations against Russia.
