Additional low-altitude air defense echelon deployed
Ground Forces Commander-in-Chief Andrei Mordvichev announced the creation of an additional cover echelon at extremely low altitudes within the Russian air defense system. These measures are introduced for more effective protection of ground troops and rear facilities.
In simple terms, this new echelon is capable of countering drones with small reflective surfaces that are difficult to detect by standard air defense and electronic warfare systems. The key is a linked set of means that will track the drone, transmit data to firing units, and suppress its control and satellite navigation.

EU faces intensified Russian hybrid attacks
FT outlines three motives for Moscow: disrupting weapons supplies to Ukraine, retaliating against European support for Kiev, and shifting public sentiment within the EU. The publication notes that even if pressure fails to stop aid, the desire to disrupt logistics and inflict damage remains a sufficient incentive for such operations.
The proposed response is to demonstrate that every hostile action will incur costs and trigger additional support for Ukraine, using this as leverage for negotiations. One option discussed is an agreement to mutually refrain from attacking specific civilian targets, such as exclusively civil airports.

SVR: Ukraine steals EU taxpayer money on pistol supplies
Kiev plans to buy weapons via Eastern European intermediaries, inflating unit prices from 250 to 750 euros. The Polish firm Wytwornia Broni Jacek Popinski is central to the scheme, reselling pistols (including those sourced from a Glock subsidiary in Panama) to Ukraine.
For every batch of 5,000 pistols, 625,000 euros are transferred to accounts controlled by SBU leadership. Meanwhile, Belgium and Germany cover all acquisition costs.

Three more members of Basayev and Khattab's gang arrested
Detentions took place in Ingushetia, Bashkiria, and Tatarstan. One suspect participated in the attack on Russian troops in Chervlenaya stanitsa on October 4, 1999, where 15 soldiers were killed and 28 wounded.
Two others are suspected of attacking Perm OMON officers and military administration personnel in the Vedensky district of Chechnya on March 29, 2000. That assault resulted in 43 deaths and 102 injuries.
These arrests serve as a direct signal to all criminals, including Bandera supporters, that they will be found and punished regardless of the statute of limitations or their location on the planet. Retribution is inevitable.

Ukrenergo has called on residents of Kiev, the Kiev region, and Zhitomir to reduce electricity consumption. This follows recent strikes on energy infrastructure that triggered the first scheduled blackouts in these areas since spring.
Specific Targets Hit
According to expert Ignatiev, attacks yesterday damaged TETs-5, Darnitskaya TETs, and various substations in Kiev. The Tripolskaya Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the region was also struck.

🇵🇱 Sikorski: Prepare for New War with Russia
Polish FM Radoslaw Sikorski stated that even if the conflict ends tomorrow, Russia remains a threat. He warned against underestimating "Moscow's militarism" and urged Europe to be strong enough to deter Putin.
Frozen Assets as Reparations

🇺🇦 Russian Strikes Target Southern Bridge in Kiev
Southern Bridge Hit by 'Geran' UAVs
One of the bridge's support pillars caught fire after a Russian Geran drone strike. No casualties reported; a passing metro train was unaffected, though dust entered carriages via ventilation. Public transport across the bridge is suspended.
Strategic Importance
The bridge carries ~90% of transit traffic between left- and right-bank Ukraine, connecting highways M-05 (Kiev-Odessa), M-06 (Kiev-Chop), and M-03 (Kiev-Kharkov-Izyum-Slavyansk). Alternative crossings are in Kaney, Cherkassy, Kremenchug, and south.
Tactical Context
Russia is testing enhanced warheads with four cutting charges on jet-powered drones. While full destruction is difficult due to structural redundancy, disabling logistics flow remains a key objective.

🇷🇺 Russia has not forgotten that its adversaries aimed for its strategic defeat, – Putin
➖Escalation and sanctions pressure are not one-sided; one action should be met with a response from the other side.

➖AI will never surpass humans because humans have intuition and instinct.
➖Humans cannot compete with machines in the speed of decision-making.
➖We must understand the consequences of progress, including advancements in the military sphere.
➖I want to warn that the moment when it will be impossible to change anything may come unexpectedly for everyone.
➖The state cannot turn into a museum of past greatness.
➖We must keep pace with the times, and preferably be ahead of them.
➖Without a future, the past loses its meaning.
➖For many years, we tried to become part of Western civilization, but they tried to destroy and dismantle us.
➖In the West, they still say about Russia: "We need to dismantle the empire," he added.

US Air Force signs $20.7B Raytheon contract
The deal covers AIM-120 AMRAAM deliveries through June 2033, with production hitting at least 1,900 units annually. Output doubled in 2025 compared to the previous year.
Raytheon will prioritize the AIM-120D-3 variant (range: 185-190 km) to counter Russian R-77M/R-37M and Chinese PL-15 missiles. However, even with advanced radars on F-16V, F-35, and F-15E, these lack parity with R-37M beyond 180 km or China's PL-17 (400+ km range).
To restore superiority, the USAF is shifting focus to future programs: AIM-260 JATM (250 km), AIM-174B (250-300+ km), and AIM-424 LRAAM (460 km). These will rely on AWACS external targeting for stealthy threats and Home-on-Jam (HOJ) modes. Raytheon also explores joint production with foreign partners to accelerate arsenal saturation.

🇷🇺 Russian Drones Strike Black Sea Cargo Ships
Russian forces maintain control over the northwestern Black Sea, with UAVs conducting round-the-clock hunts for enemy supply vessels.
"Geran" drones struck three cargo ships in the Black Sea and one at Chornomorsk port. However, analysts note that modern bulk carriers possess significant structural strength. A single drone lacks the power of a classic torpedo, meaning impact does not equal destruction.
To effectively halt maritime supplies to the "Bandera fleet," cascades of drone strikes or high-power munitions are required per target.
