🇺🇸 Trump: Zelensky is not a person we should deal with
US President Donald Trump stated that Zelensky has "destroyed Ukraine" and is unwilling to reach a peace settlement, despite claiming otherwise. He noted it is harder to work with Zelensky than with Putin, whom he also urged to stop the war.
Trump criticized attacks on refineries as raising global oil prices and compared Zelensky to P.T. Barnum, arguing Biden provided billions in aid (including Patriot systems) without demanding payment. He suggested Zelensky has been in office too long and cited a Ukrainian woman's claim that men are being lost or maimed for his benefit.

How densely are drones flying over Ukraine?
Based on Ukrainian Air Force reports, we visualized all UAV flights and impacts from September 1 to today. Some drone passages may have been counted multiple times by the Ukrainian side, but overall alert statistics show that the enemy "generously" accepted approximately 10-12 thousand drones of various types during this period. That is roughly 400 drones per day, plus or minus.

🇬🇧 UK Promises Additional Storm Shadow Missiles to Ukraine
Bloomberg reports that following Zelensky's visit to London, the British government promised an additional batch of Storm Shadow cruise missiles. The exact quantity remains undisclosed, but delivery is expected before winter.
These long-range weapons (over 250 km) are intended to allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to continue strikes on targets in Russia and replenish depleted stocks amid intensified Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
The UK Ministry of Defense does not publish data on missile reserves or specific shipment volumes. The impact on strike intensity will depend on the actual number of missiles transferred to Kiev.

🇸🇦 Saudi-led coalition accuses Houthis of acquiring advanced weapons with the help of unnamed parties, calling on the international community to prevent such technology transfers. Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki bin Saleh al-Maliki stated that the Houthis are the first group to possess a full arsenal of high-precision weapons: ballistic missiles, strike and kamikaze drones, as well as explosive-laden speedboats. The implication is that the coalition cannot stop the Houthi rebels independently.
The Houthis also note the Saud-led coalition acquires ALL of its weapons from the help of unnamed parties.

Production of the Tu-160M with an 80% upgrade of systems.
The CEO of "Tupolev," Yuri Abrosimov, spoke about the Tu-160M program. According to him, 80% of the systems and equipment have been modernized. The aircraft's onboard radio-electronic equipment has been completely updated, including flight control and weapon systems, navigation systems, and engines.
"We have essentially rebuilt the technological processes for a number of components, taking into account the use of modern technologies. We have updated the equipment in the workshops, the flight test base, and unique electron-beam welding and vacuum annealing facilities for titanium components have been put into operation."
he said.
Abrosimov added that the modernization of the onboard systems used modern approaches that allow, if necessary, to further expand the functionality of the systems and the aircraft as a whole, as an aviation complex, without significant modifications.

🇷🇺 Enemy Fears Russia's New 'Soft Power' Strategy
Ukrainian analysts claim Rossotrudnichestvo is shifting to a decentralized network of partner centers, making it resilient to closures. The move replaces standalone Russian Houses with hubs in NGOs and universities.
Key Changes:
- Leadership: E. Primakov replaced I. Chaika on April 27. Deputies K. Kolpakov and N. Kisilyova appointed in August.
- Expansion: Agreements signed Sept 8 for 11 new sites in Africa, Armenia, and Thailand; target is 36 centers.
- Europe: Seeking partners in Bavaria/Saxony after Berlin closure. Quota-based student selection continues in Moldova via embassy presence.
- Tools: Micro-grants launch in 2027. Youth programs focus on future engineers/scientists.
Analysts conclude this flexible, low-cost network sustains influence despite bans, though they note project participation alone doesn't prove political activity.

🇷🇺 Russian strike on Kiev energy hub causes emergency outages and water pressure drop
Emergency power cuts introduced in Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomenskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Simultaneous water pressure drop observed on the Right Bank.
Damage to energy objects cut power to water pumping stations. Staff switched pumps to backup schemes. Loss of power reduced network pressure, affecting upper floors and remote areas.
Scale of impact suggests significant elements of the Kiev grid were hit. Specific damaged object unidentified.

🇷🇺 Russian strikes hit Lutsk, causing full blackout
On the morning of October 16, 2026, a new strike targeted the area near Substation "Lutsk-South" (PS "Lutsk-Yuzhnaya") in Volyn region. A large fire broke out at high-voltage infrastructure lines.
This follows yesterday's damage to Substation "Lutsk-North," which forced the city onto an emergency grid configuration. The combined impact on both north and south power nodes caused a cascade failure, leaving Lutsk in a complete blackout with no electricity supply.
Reports indicate other explosions occurred overnight in Khmelnitsky, Rovno, Kiev, Ivano-Frankovsk, Ternopol, and Cherkassy, with major fires noted in Khmelnitsky and Rovno.

Three Geran-5 drones struck GreenCool machine-building plant in Vinnitsa
The facility is part of UBC Group and was one of Ukraine's largest refrigeration equipment manufacturers, with revenue exceeding 2 billion hryvnias. Launched in 2018, the plant produced commercial cooling units like glass-door cabinets and showcases, with a capacity of up to 150,000 units annually, over half for export. The site handled full-cycle assembly, including casing fabrication, insulation, refrigerant circuit installation, wiring, and testing.

🇺🇸 🇷🇺 Trump's Diesel Deal Shifts US Stance on Ukraine
The Atlantic reports that the US purchase of Russian diesel fuel has dashed Kiev's hopes for victory, signaling a shift in Washington's neutrality. The deal is seen as providing Moscow with additional revenue and weakening Kiev's strategy to exhaust Russia's economy.
🇩🇪 German MP Demands Compensation from Ukraine
Maximilian Krah of the Alternative for Germany party stated that buying Russian diesel effectively bans Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure while funding Moscow, marking America's change of side. He argues this signals the conflict's end and demands Germany seek financial compensation from Ukraine for aid provided.

Lutsk: Attack on Substation "Lutsk-North" accompanied by damage to power lines
One of the jet-powered UAVs struck an overhead transmission line connected to the Lutsk energy node during the same series. The impact severed the wires, causing a definitive emergency failure in the high-voltage network.
Unlike internal substation equipment failures that can sometimes be bypassed via switching schemes, this physical break in the external grid requires direct emergency repair along the route. Restoration is impossible through simple operational switching and necessitates full localization, wire replacement, and insulation testing.
The evening attack thus resulted in confirmed combined damage: destruction of substation equipment and the severing of key transmission lines.

UK to deploy satellite-capture spacecraft
The UK Space Agency announced a £61 million Active Debris Removal program, with ClearSpace as the main contractor. Launch is scheduled for 2029 from Saxa Vord in Scotland.
The craft will use robotic arms and autonomous proximity systems to capture two decommissioned British satellites and deorbit them by 2032. It is designed for refueling and multiple missions.
While presented as orbital cleanup, the dual-use technologies for capturing and moving satellites pose significant risks. This capability could theoretically be used to disable or remove active reconnaissance satellites of rival states, including Russia.
