Interesting number for the tariff Trump slapped on Israel
Читать полностью…ICYMI: Today’s tariffs include a 17 percent duty on Israeli products imported to the United States. Israel sought to prevent the move with the directive that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich signed Tuesday to immediately scrap all remaining tariffs on American imports.
Speaking in the White House Rose Garden against a backdrop of US flags, Trump slaps the most stinging tariffs on China and the European Union on what he calls “Liberation Day.”
Trump reserves some of the heaviest blows for what he called the “nations that treat us badly,” including 34 percent on goods from superpower rival China, 20 percent on key ally the European Union and 24 percent on Japan.
But the 78-year-old Republican — who holds up a chart with a list of levies — says that he is “very kind” and so is only imposing half the amount that those countries tax US exports.
For the rest, Trump says he will impose a “baseline” tariff of 10 percent, including Britain.

Four Republican senators helped Democrats pass a resolution Wednesday that would effectively repeal President Trump's tariffs on Canada.
The resolution, offered by Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), would repeal the emergency declaration that allowed Trump to place tariffs on Canada. The White House has cited fentanyl flowing across the border as a reason for the declaration.
But the measure is likely dead on arrival in the GOP-controlled House.
Republicans. Susan Collins (Maine), Mitch McConnell (Ky.) Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Rand Paul (Ky.) joined Democrats in voting for the measure, which passed 51-48.

Senate Republicans released a new budget blueprint Wednesday that would pave the way for $1.5 trillion in new tax cuts in addition to making President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent.
They hope to adopt the plan in the coming days to instruct committees to begin work a massive bill to pass Trump’s agenda on taxes, immigration funding and other priorities. Senate Republicans are using the budget “reconciliation” process to evade the 60-vote hurdle in the chamber, where they hold a 53-47 majority, and cut Democrats out of the process.
Republicans are utilizing a controversial new accounting method known as “current policy baseline” to score the cost of a Trump tax cut extension at $0.
The Senate GOP budget resolution includes a $5 trillion debt limit increase.

Ask yourselves, if what Elon Musk and DOGE are finding regarding Social Security fraud and its links to VOTING FRAUD, is there ANYONE who honestly still believes our elections have ever been fair?
Maybe that’s why we hear crickets from CONGRESS or GOVERNORS for that matter, when it comes to fixing our voting systems.
If we DO NOT fix our voting systems, then we may as well give the keys to the U.S. kingdom to the globalist mob.
Sorry, but the level of fraud in our government (TOP TO BOTTOM) is so outrageous, I trust very few people right now in WDC…they don’t want to fix it. They want to keep the THICK PERMAFROST OF CORRUPTION layered over the top of our REPUBLIC so they can remain in power forever.
The historic collision course we’re on if we don’t fix this nonsense that’s been running our government for decades is coming.
There are solutions, none are easy. If they were, someone would have already solved these problems.
@realDonaldTrump these are historic times and they call for historic decisions.
National security adviser Mike Waltz’s team regularly set up chats on Signal to coordinate official work on issues including Ukraine, China, Gaza, Middle East policy, Africa and Europe, according to four people who have been personally added to Signal chats.
Two of the people said they were in or have direct knowledge of at least 20 such chats. All four said they saw instances of sensitive information being discussed.
It’s a more extensive use of the app than previously reported and sheds new light on how commonly the Trump administration’s national security team relies on Signal, a publicly available messaging app, to conduct its work.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday named a lawyer who represented several of his top aides in criminal probes to a senior post in the U.S. Justice Department.
Trump picked Stanley Woodward, who has been serving as a White House lawyer to Trump, to be associate attorney general, the third-highest ranking post at the Justice Department that oversees civil rights, antitrust and environmental enforcement. It also oversees the Civil Division, which is defending Trump's policy agenda against legal challenges.
If Woodward is confirmed, the top three officials at the Justice Department would all be attorneys who personally defended either Trump or his close associates.
Woodward represented several people in Trump's orbit, including now-FBI Director Kash Patel, as Special Counsel Jack Smith pursued investigations of Trump over his retention of classified documents and attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat.
He defended Trump valet Walt Nauta, who was charged alongside Trump and another associate in the documents case. All three pleaded not guilty.

BREAKING👏🏻: President Trump proclaims April 2, 2025 as World Autism Awareness Day. He calls upon all Americans to learn more about the signs of autism to improve early diagnosis, understand the challenges faced by individuals with autism, and find ways to support those with autism and their families:
On World Autism Awareness Day, we recognize the millions of Americans living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Their proud perseverance in overcoming tremendous hurdles is emblematic of the strength and grit that makes America great. The First Lady and I extend our heartfelt appreciation to the families, friends, and communities aiding Americans with ASD as we empower every citizen to take part in and shape our new golden age.
Autism now affects 1 in 36 children in the United States, a staggering increase from the 1980s, when the disorder was found in only 1 to 4 out of every 10,000 individuals. I created the Make America Healthy Again Commission to investigate and address the root causes of our escalating health crisis, with a focus on childhood disorders like autism. As part of this effort, my Administration is prioritizing gold-standard research and increasing transparency to gain new insights to aid those with ASD.
Under my leadership, our great Nation will be stronger than ever before, with opportunities for all Americans to thrive and prosper. Despite challenges, Americans with ASD have made, and will continue to make outstanding contributions for our country and the world.

BREAKING💥: Dr. Fauci's wife, Christine Grady, has been removed from her position at the NIH:
Directors of five National Institutes of Health institutes and at least two other members of senior leadership have been placed on administrative leave or offered new assignments since Monday, topping a list of hundreds of employees notified in the last 24 hours that they had lost their jobs as part of sweeping layoffs across federal health agencies.
The layoffs affected people across the NIH’s 27 institutes and centers, including officials who help guide how the world’s largest funder of biomedical research makes decisions about what diseases to study and what medicines to develop, as well as staff who made the organization operate day to day and communicated with the public.
Jay Bhattacharya, who officially took the helm of the NIH on Tuesday, noted in an email to staff that the agency “had experienced a significant reduction in its workforce,” which he said “will have a profound impact on key NIH administrative functions, including communications, legislative affairs, procurement, and human resources, and will require an entirely new approach to how we carry them out.”

Several global leaders have secretly maintained contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin despite the Western campaign to isolate Moscow, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has claimed.
In an interview with talk show host Mario Nawfal on Tuesday, Vucic said that he had not personally met his Russian counterpart since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. “When we agreed upon the fact that it was not done in adherence with international public law, I didn’t see Putin for three years,” he noted.
However, many leaders maintained behind-the-scenes communication, Vucic alleged. “I know at least two big leaders that were speaking secretly to him – because, of course, I still have my friends in the Kremlin and in some other countries as well.”
While Vucic did not name the leaders who supposedly spoke with Putin behind the scenes, he stressed that it was not Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, or Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, all of whom have not concealed their communication with the Russian president.

SAVAGE🤣🤍: Linda McMahon, Trump’s Education Secretary, unexpectedly appeared at a House Democrats’ press conference outside the Department of Education, which she aims to dismantle per Trump’s executive order.
The press conference was part of Democrats’ opposition to McMahon’s mission to devolve education oversight to states, a policy rooted in Trump’s campaign promise to empower parents in educational decisions.
McMahon’s appearance was seen as a bold move, with Rep. Melanie Stansbury inviting her to speak, though McMahon later walked off when pressed on the timeline for closing the Department of Education.

Conservative U.S. Supreme Court justices appeared sympathetic on Wednesday to South Carolina's bid to strip Planned Parenthood of funding under the Medicaid program in a case that could bolster efforts by Republican-led states to deprive the reproductive healthcare and abortion provider of public money.
The justices heard arguments in South Carolina's appeal of a lower court's decision barring the Republican-governed state from terminating Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, the organization's regional affiliate, because the organization provides abortions.
The Supreme Court has a 6-3 conservative majority.
The justices focused on whether the language of the law governing Medicaid, a joint federal and state health insurance program for low-income people, allows recipients to sue to enforce a requirement that they may obtain medical assistance from any qualified and willing provider.

Democratic fundraising powerhouse ActBlue changed its fraud policy twice during the 2024 campaign, implementing “more lenient” standards that let foreign money to flow to US campaigns, according to internal company documents and other records exclusively obtained by The Post.
The ActBlue fraud-prevention standards changed in April 2024 and again that September, with the relaxed guidelines allowing between 14 and 28 more fraudulent contributions per month.
The platform had already allowed donors to give money without a card verification value (CVV) for transactions until January 2024 — roughly halfway through the election cycle — and the new standards still instructed ActBlue employees to “look for reasons to accept contributions.”
The firm’s fraud-prevention specialist also shifted their focus to “DEI work,” while listing in performance goals “not allowing more than 10% additional missed fraud” from all political donations.
By December 2024, a sheet tallying the “known instances of fraud” revealed hundreds of donations — including from Brazil, Colombia, India, Iraq, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia, among other nations — were going toward Democratic campaigns and causes.

BLOOMBERG: President Donald Trump’s deliberations over his plans to impose reciprocal tariffs are coming down to the wire, with his team said to be still finalizing the level and scope of new import taxes he is slated to unveil on Wednesday afternoon.
In meetings on Tuesday, Trump’s team continued to hash out their options ahead of a Rose Garden event scheduled to begin as US markets close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, people familiar with the ongoing discussions said. The White House has not reached a firm decision on their tariff plan, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, even though Trump himself said earlier in the week that he had “settled” on an approach.
Several proposals are said to be under consideration, including a tiered tariff system with a set of flat rates for countries, as well as a more customized reciprocal plan. Under the first option, countries would see their goods face levies at either a 10% or 20% rate depending on their tariff and non-tariff barriers on US goods.
