50% MLM’s at Fundraiser for Pet Shelter
I attend an annual fund raiser for a cat rescue shelter and pet food bank. They hold the fair every year in November for Holiday Shopping. They usually have around 100 vendors, mostly crafts, homemade pet items, books etc. I looked at the vendor list for this year (vendor registration is still open) and out of 50 vendors registered half are already MLM”s. I want to support the rescue as always but not the MLM’s. I am not sure what to do,go anyway and avoid the MLM vendors?

This might be so obvious that it feels like it’s almost redundant to even ask, but I’m not too knowledgeable on these types of things. I have an 18F coworker (a restaurant job), and she recently got hired at a second job. She posts on her instagram story often, stating that her ‘firm’ is now hiring part and full time. The benefits include: flexible schedule, work from home, paid training, paid company trips, and no prior experience needed.
Now her actual work is selling life insurance, which is the weirdest part. Who the hell is buying life insurance off an 18 year-old girl? She tried to sell it to me, and when I said I was alright she asked if I could do a training session. She was very adamant about me trying it out, and I was having a very difficult time finding my way out of it. It’s a scam right? I’m considering gently letting her know she may be a part of something fishy

Why do they stay?
Why do they stay when they know and admitted they make no money, it's toxic and predatory? And they know it's cheap products. Like why!! I feel like I've done all I can do, but they keep getting sucked into the cult and I just need to wipe my hands of them.
I mean how much more can 1 share to them, it's like they are ok with being bent over and ok with being in debt and ruining their marriages etc because they keep blowing money on this "business"
Maye this is more of a rant post lol 😆 just doesn't make sense to me. Like dang, you complain you can't afford this month's bills, yet you buy more collection 😒

How to navigate this situation
I am in a national women's entrepreneurial networking group that specifically does not allow MLMs. I was at a meeting of our local chapter (very small) and this one woman was pitching her nutritional supplement that sounded slightly suspicious but her spiel was good enough that I missed it on my MLM radar. And she was not anything like the usual over-the-top boss babes - laid back and professional looking/sounding. We all exchanged business cards.
When I got home, there it was - Modere. Now she has emailed me for a meeting.
How do I respectfully decline? Or do I just ignore her email? I am going to have to see her ongoing in this group. And do I report her to national because of the no-MLMs clause or let them figure it out themselves? I don't want to create a mess in my organization but I don't want others getting duped.
