Cousin Almost Fell for WFG Disguised as Something Else
Boy are these MLMs getting brave. She told me she got a remote job and they were helping her get into a class to get a financial advisor license. I was immediately suspicious because while she’s very smart, she does not have any background in finance or college experience. I asked what the group was and she said Legacy elite.
Legacy Elite does not show up on google as a company, The other way around, Elite Legacy however, does show as a real financial group. But no search revealed that company whatsoever! When I asked her what that company was, she said they “partnered” with transAmerica to bring in clients and help with their savings. Ouch
Turns out, it’s World Finance Group as an umbrella company that tells its employees they work for “Legacy Elite” to not sound off alarms to potential recruits. She sent me the parent site and I was like damn.
Got her educated and she backed out but man, it’s vile how easy it can be to fall for it for some people. Hopefully she can get her friend out of it cause she mentioned her friend told her about it, which also alerted me thanks to this subs advice and stories.

Is Advantage Solutions an MLM?
Hello! I'm just an autistic dude, fresh out of high school and looking for a job. So, of course, I've started using Indeed. I've applied to most entry-level jobs that aren't too far away (have to go somewhere in walking distance or a short bus ride away, as I can't drive yet), and have gotten ghosted or rejected by all of them for having no experience.
When suddenly, on Indeed, I found a job that was listed as "Product Demonstration" by a company called Advantage Solutions. From what I've gathered, it's supposedly a company that outsources people to demonstrate appliances and give out samples at places like Costco, Sam's Club, and Kroger. It's a guaranteed minimum 15 bucks an hour, seems like a simple job. And one of the things that stuck out to me on the position was something along the lines of "No experience? No problem!"
I sent in my application and was immediately invited for a digital interview. I replied a little too late (I suspect they use some kind of automation for setting up interviews) and was told they were all booked up. Soon, they got back to me, I replied less than an hour later, and the same thing happened. Eventually, I was finally able to reply within minutes, and I finally have my digital interview scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday.
But my sister believes that this might all be some kind of front for an MLM. I know that if I'm asked to buy stock to sell, then I gotta run. But I'm still not sure. Does anyone else here have experience with Advantage Solutions? Is it an MLM?

Anyone ever been in Sweetlegs?
I have questions.
Why do some people say it's an MLM and others don't.
I've heard they kind of hide that recrutement needs to be done. Can anyone confirm that? I can't find anything online. Would be great if they had a compensation plan or income disclosure statement...
Also, do they only rank up based on their purchases? Cause the VIP levels make them earn points by spending money.. or is there anything else on the distributor side? It's all so vague and confusing.

Should I throw away my kangen water machine or continue using it?
A few years ago, my aunt and her bf roped my dad into this fantastical Kangen water machine. They swore it could cure cancer, and even the big shots like presidents were supposedly chugging it! They dropped $10,000 on two machines for themselves and my grandma's place.
My grandma recorded a video (or some before and after pictures i forgot) claiming this miracle water erased a mole on her face in just a week. My dad got swept up in the hype and convinced himself this magic water would zap away his foot wart. After forking over $5,000 for the machine, nothing changed for his foot. I always knew it was a load of nonsense, but as a teenager back then, convincing them otherwise was like talking to a brick wall.
Fast forward to today, and I'm still fuming over this $5,000 scam they fell for. But guess what? Today, while scrolling through this subreddit, I realized this Kangen water scam is also an MLM, which makes me even angier
Should I work on persuading my parents to get rid of it? They're still using it every day, from using it for face wash to drinking the water. Especially my mom believes this water helps with acne, wrinkle, etc.

How MLM-y is Tupperware?
Context: I just moved countries for uni, was buying a water bottle at the local shop (not looking for anything specific, just a good-sized reusable bottle.) Ended up buying one from a small display in the shop labeled Tupperware. It’s 880mL and comfortable to hold, etc, all around I’m chill with it and that’s not the issue of this post.
How bad of a company is Tupperware? I’ve never tried their products and this botle is good quality, but I guess I’m more concerned about the ethics of the seller? I probably won’t throw this thing out in protest or anything, but just for future reference? Not a fan of (even accidentally) supporting MLM schemes :/

I’m so glad I left this adult home novelty mlm…
It turned me into someone I wasn’t—I’d get so hyper focused on work I wasn’t even getting paid to do, that I’d take it out on the people I love. I’m so glad that my partner helped open my eyes to how deceptive these companies are. I swear no one even knew I existed there
until I’d spend money and/or make THEM money. I have not been in touch with them for months and they actually called me last week and left me a voice message, asking me if I’d like to do a party that is over 7 hours away by car; so you’re asking me this so I could make YOU money, right? Because no sane human being would drive THAT far unless the earnings were guaranteed. Absolute fucking bullshit. I didn’t call them back obviously. I’m so glad I got away before I spent any more money.

My dad was in amway and it was weird
He was in it for most of my childhood and then got out. I remember we went to a higher persons up house. It was a really nice and big house. Pool/4+bedrooms, etc.They were all nice but deff culty vibes. Something that has stuck with more forever (I’m now in my 30s) is that depending on your status you could see more and more of this guys house. Due to my dads status we could only see the first floor, so besides the living room and outside area which was open to everyone, we also saw their kitchen, movie room, and office. I always felt it was so weird. Out of around 100 people at this party, I was a child and felt it was so elitist and really strange. I wonder if anyone else felt that. Like why would that motivate people? Lol if you hit diamond status you can see where I take most of my poops? Like so strange.

Is this MLM?
One of my friend says he will join. They are asking for 150000 INR (around $200) for registration and then they will apparently teach him to do the business. The job is business development for global MNCs to expand their market.
They said they will give him books to learn about the work and even have 24 hours helpline.
It sounds very shady to me. I don't want my friend to lose money as he is from middle class background like me.
